          A slight wrinkle creases his nose at her bloody display. With a glance, Herc does a quick sweep of their surroundings, but they're safe for now. At the very least she'll have a moment to recover.

               “ I suppose he saw the worst of the fight?” A small smile accompanies                his words -- a jest in an attempt to lighten the mood.

❣ : How comfortable are they talking about sexual matters? Do they have any problems discussing sexual things in front of strangers or acquaintances? 

Herc is reserved with his discussion of personal sexual matters, but this is less so due to his awkward nature and more because of the importance he places on sexual intimacy. He considers it private, between himself and his partner, and as Herc was never one for casual encounters his partners are always those who are dearly important to him. Any discussions he may engage in regarding his sexual history will be mindfully respectful to the privacy of his partners. If other people wish to openly discuss their own affairs he will usually be able to at least listen, though explicit details will fluster him.

He's not one for talking about such things in front of strangers. He would never bring that sort of thing up in front of someone with whom he wasn't close, and feels awkward when strangers discuss sexual matters in any amount of detail.

trying to figure out how to work herc's homosexuality in with his dalish upbringing. i saw a headcanon a while ago about how the dalish are super focused on making more dalish and so there's the expectation that (regardless of sexuality) elves will find a partner and make some babies, which i definitely agree with. i think herc has always known that he would be expected to have kids (and may have even been sort-of-betrothed idk???) but i haven't quite figured it out entirely. considering the fact that he likes to run away from and avoid major issues it was probably something he was aware of but ignored because it wasn't an immediate issue. all things considered the inquisition worked out in his favor in terms of avoiding responsibilities that were imposed on him.

          Yet he shudders, because frankly he's always found it unnerving. He much rather prefers it when the Fade takes on a familiar appearance, even though that is when the Fade is at its most dangerous.

          It makes sense that a dweller of such a place would not be so put-off.

               " Where else could you go, if not here?"

           ”Not usually, no. I don’t loaf around long             enough to notice the vast nothingness—             but by chance when I do I don’t mind it.”

          Definitely not. Herc isn't one to bring it up in conversation as a bragging right, and he's very rarely involved in conversations where the topic is brought to light. If asked he will be honest with his number of sexual partners -- it's not a particularly impressive number, so he never mentions it in a boasting way. He's not ashamed of having sex or admitting to ever having sex, but considers it a private matter and treats it as such.

What magic does he specialise in? Are there any forms he's not good at, or simply doesn't like?

well first of all kisses ur face for this question thank you

          Herc prefers the Inferno/fire and spirit schools of magic. Storm/electricity was always too difficult to manage properly, even with practice. The magic manifested itself too randomly for Herc to feel comfortable with using it, as even the slightest misfire could prove devastating for himself or those with whom he fought. The Winter/ice school of magic was more manageable but he simply didn't like the way the magic felt inside of him -- it left him feeling chilly and raw. Fire magic, dangerous as it was, came more easily to him, as well as providing an enjoyable warmth when the power swelled inside him. Spirit magic proved to be difficult but too useful to ignore, considering the protection it could provide for not only Herc but those around him. It required the most practice, with arguably the best payoff.

          When given the option to train in a specialization, Herc is torn between all three options. Each presents equal benefit, but eventually he settles on Knight-Enchanter. The specialization holds a connection to the People, and provides a challenge. He never wields the magic with the same grace and poise as Vivienne, but he commits himself to the training and at least learns to make good use of it.
