Today I had to come home with a cold, and after being home sick I realized how much unhealthy is the hair industry. As barbers/stylist we don't really take care of ourselves, we spend hours standing up without eating, using the restroom or even a break. We find that working 10 hours straight is normal and it's just the way things are. Many barbers eat whatever is convenient and only go to the gym to get in shape for the summer. As an industry we need to learn to say NO to that one client who didn't make an appointment and want us to take him in our lunch break, or we need to start eating more than just pizza or mcds just because it's quick and convinient. I don't get sick much now days, but when I do it makes me realize that I could do more to take care of my body. At the end, it is the only place I have to live.

I can't believe he used to get a 3 all around. I remember the day he told me " I wish to change my hair style but I don't think I have nice hair for it". I’ve learned so much this year that I feel like a totally new person. One of the main factors on my change has been the incorporation of reading on a daily basis. I read a quote once that never left my mind and it was “if you want to grab the things on the top shelf, you gotta stand on the books you read” and I couldnt agree more. You can’t do better without becoming a better person, and to become a better person you have to know the right information. All the data anyone needs to achieve anything in live have been documented on books, so for any goal you have there is a good possibility someone has done it, and has a book of how they did it.
