To touch on daturastramoniumfan96 theory/headcanon. I think when Luther was younger, he lost his parents in the Human and Cryptid conflict all the way back (because yknow Luther is old asl😭) but while Luther was travelling through the war and defending himself, he heard a baby cries. He saw a crying cryptid with orange hair (Randal), I can say that Luther immediately took him and tried to soothe it while the war is happening. Luther gets reminded of his parents while carrying the baby so he swears to protect it from the dystopian world. I can imagine Luther singing a lullaby to comfort Randal from his cries, I always imagine Luther was powerful but hides his power when he grew older. Idk in my opinion Randal and Luther are brothers but it's interesting to see that Luther adopted him to protect him.💗
