The edges of Severus' vision went black, tunneling in on Lily’s lifeless body laying amongst the wreckage of the upstairs bedroom.

Once bright emerald eyes he cherished so much were dulled as the bright light of life had long left with her soul, wrongfully taken from this world … and it was all his fault.

He crawled to Lilly’s side, through the remnants of broken glass and pieces of fractured wood biting into his hands sinking their sharp jagged edges into his palms and his knees.

Wails of sorrow and complete anguish flowed from him, unrestrained, as he held Lily’s body to his chest, her skin ice cold as he wrapped his arms around her, marking death’s claim on her.

Death might as well take him now, there was nothing left in this world that could ever replace the warmth and light that Lily had brought to his life.

Just then tiny fingers brushed through the back of his hair. He turned around, shocked to see none other than a teary eyed one year old boy observing him. His hair was the same dark brown as his father's, in fact the more Snape looked him over he realized the boy had the unmistakable face of Potter already at such a young age but his eyes … he had his mother’s radiant green eyes.

“So God, it hurt when I found out.” Obi-Wan’s voice broke as he carefully placed Vader's hand on the slight swell of his stomach hidden beneath the layers of his faded Jedi tunic.

He was 9 weeks pregnant … with twins, Anakin's twins.

Suddenly arms not his own came from behind Obi-Wan, gently wrapping themselves around his waist pulling his back flush against a solid lean muscular chest. Obi-Wan closed his eyes and leaned back letting Anakin take the majority of his weight, resting his head on Anakin’s shoulder.

“I’m here,” Anakin pressed a kiss to Obi-Wan’s shoulder, another to the side of his neck before resting his cheek against Obi-Wan’s temple. “I’m here.”

No further words were needed for a long while as they swayed underneath the heated spray of the fresher, letting themselves be grounded in this peaceful moment.

Why are you awake?” He asked, reaching for his young husband’s hand to press a kiss to his palm. “Is it the baby?” Obi-Wan hummed, “He’s restless, I can’t get him to settle."

“Is he now?” Qui-Gon asked, before making his way down the bed until he was laying on his stomach propped up between Obi-Wan’s legs. He pressed a firm kiss against the curve of Obi-Wan’s belly. A wave of calm and comfort washed over Obi-Wan when he felt Qui-Gon wrap his Force signature around him and the baby. “Little Ani.” Qui-Gon whispered against his skin.
