Arcane — Arc 2 — Spoiler

When I was studying animation back in college we came to the conclusion (as all the people inside the industry gets to know very early in their career) that animators hate kids — or at least it’s what it looks like 😭 The reason behind this is because a lot of great animation pieces have always kids who have terrible and sad deaths. What is more impactful than a kid dying for the lore? Inside the entertainment industry is one of the most powerful tools to cause an emotional impact and engagement, because we are unable to process such an unnatural death as the one of a kid who has all their life to live.

This is not a critique to the animators and storytellers, on the contrary, this story works every damn time and Arcane is not an exception. I don’t have my hopes up on Isha surviving in the next arc, not after such an heroic act, but god it is so freaking sad. Wonderful character. I hope that Vander — who apparently dies again because Viktor touched his soul — takes care of her. God, I’m sobbing.
