Someone help me write please
I need tips on writing transgender characters accurately and writing abusive mother-daughter side plots accurately without it disappearing into the background or being too big.

To all those who compare themselves to others
I thought of an idea to help you out, and it's been working for me so I thought I'd share it.
When your brain starts to say all that stuff, you know what I mean, "(s)he's so much prettier/smarter/better than me" or "I wish I could be like her/him" instead of listening to it, tell that person.
And no, I don't mean tell them "You're so much prettier than me." I mean just go up and pay them a meaningful compliment that you really truly think e.g. "You're very pretty" or "I like your hair" or whatever.
It makes them feel good about themselves (because chances are they've been comparing themselves to you) and also makes you feel great cause you get that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you do something nice for someone!
I hope this helps someone out there. Hold your head up high, cause you're a babe, and if you need someone to talk to hit up my inbox.
Love y'all, stay safe!

Here's to the outsiders
Here's to the Hufflepuffs. Here's to the Hufflepuffs who are outgoing and fun, but somehow so different that no one really seems to want to be their friend. Here's to the Hufflepuffs who wear pastel and flower crowns and are breaking inside. Here's to the Hufflepuffs who can barely talk to anyone because they're scared, scared of getting it wrong, scared of rejection, scared of awkwardness. Here's to the Hufflepuffs who just can't bring themselves to be such a hippy optimist as their friends, the ones who wear black, the ones struggling with their mental health, the ones who can't talk to people, the ones who can't bake for toffee, the ones who feel like they don't belong.
Here's to the Ravenclaws. Here's to the Ravenclaws who spend hours in their rooms, racking their brains for inspiration but nothing seems to come. Here's to the Ravenclaws who have to work hard to be considered smart. Here's to the Ravenclaws who are smart at something different, like sport strategy or acting, or something else not considered academic. Here's to the Ravenclaws who constantly compare themselves to others and feel stupid and dumb because no way can they list all the deadly plants in the world like she can. Here's to the Ravenclaws that feel stupid, the ones that aren't academically brilliant, the ones who can't study because their handwriting is so damn messy, the ones who feel like they don't belong.
Here's to the Gryffindors. Here's to the Gryffindors who are scared even to talk to someone else, let alone go out and do some of the reckless stuff the others do. Here's to the Gryffindors who calculate the risks of something before they do it because they don't want to risk their lives for something that might not even work. Here's to the Gryffindors who get scared, the ones who aren't reckless, the ones who are smart, the ones who struggle, the ones who feel like they don't belong.
And here's to the Slytherins. Here's to the Slytherins who care more about their friends than promoting themselves, who wouldn't dare manipulate people. Here's to the Slytherins who can't make a logical plan of attack for anything. Here's to the Slytherins who are so scared of rejection they daren't have ambitions or try and get anywhere. Here's to the Slytherins who won't promote themselves in untoward ways, the ones who can't talk to people, the ones who can't be ambitious, the ones who are scared of themselves, the ones who don't feel like they belong.
Here's to the outsiders, because in their difference, they burnt the brightest, and while they felt like they didn't belong, others wished they could be like them.

So there's this thing no one seems to understand...
Everyone goes on about Hufflepuffs and either defend them violently or criticise them for being the potato house.
But here's the thing: I think I know why people hate on us, and it's just about the most motivational PuffPride thing ever. It's this:
*As Hufflepuffs, we f**king terrify people*
You wanna know my reasoning?
Most days in my life, somebody hates on me as a person or tries to put me down, because I scare people. I dare to love others, to be kind to strangers and stick by my friends no matter what, because buddy if you fuck with my beautiful flowers I will literally MURDER you. And that scares people. Like, a lot.
Kindness is staring the world in the face and giving social rules the middle finger. Loyalty is watching the backstabbing that goes on in the world and saying "You know what? Whether it's normal or not, whether it's likely to happen to me or not, I'm here to stay." Hard work is defeating Procrastination, which I'm sure most people will agree is the hardest thing to beat in modern society. Being a Hufflepuff, therefore, is staring at the trappings of social laws, the fear of others hurting you and the fucking BANE of the modern world full in the face and saying "You know what? Fuck you! I'm going to be different."
And anyone that can beat procrastination and fuck with social laws is someone who is firstly scary and secondly different. And when humans see something they're afraid of, they automatically try and crush it and put it down, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
But the thing is with Hufflepuffs, we are SO different that we just keep on staying who we are no matter what. So maybe we scare you, but maybe that's a good thing.
I'm not really sure where I was going with this, but I hope y'all can relate to this sort-of-revalation.
