Did a thing for wulv-exo n helped out with drawing his chu-form (Malukai!) for the species thing the Train was doing thanks to Deej! ;u;  It was a lot of fun and helped me get out of the art rut I’ve been in for a bit, for a little while at least. I still don’t feel much motivation to draw anything else xD

My new palico Oreo encountered his first ever fearsome Deviljho today! It was a successful hunt, though Oreo didn’t seem very impressed.

“Am I meownster hunter yet?”

Don’t think I’ve introduced Oreo yet; he’s only been here for a couple of weeks. He was a stray that had started hanging around the house, but he wasn’t super terrified of us. You could tell he wanted attention, but he was just really unsure and kept his distance. For a few days my mom and brother had been trying to pet him but with no luck. I finally went out to see him one morning and I was just...struck by him...because as soon as I saw him I had remembered something my brother had asked me years ago.

“Would you ever want a cat after Spooky?” 

At the time I told him “I don’t know, but if I do get one, I’d like it to be a little tuxedo cat.”

As my friends know, I’ve had a really hard time coming to terms with Spooky’s passing. I’ve been depressed ever since She was with me for 13 years, through some of the toughest times of my life; she was my best friend and I would have fought the devil himself to keep her safe. It felt like I lost a part of myself when we had no choice but to put her to sleep because of the cancer...

Jack, Laura, and Tiny had shown up so soon after Spooky’s passing that I found it hard to really connect with them. I didn’t push them away but it just felt wrong to me...like I was replacing her. Thus they ended up being my family’s cats and they really only came to me when they needed food.

Then one day this little random tuxedo kitten just showed up out of the blue...I don’t know..I just.. I felt like he was a sign. Like Spooky was trying to tell me it was okay; that she sent him to me. I understood as soon as I saw him that he was destined to be my cat. I sat out on the porch with him for hours, offering him food and just letting him get used to me, and he let me pet him on the very first day! On the second day I got to hold him and I brought him in. He’s been chilling with me ever since and only leaves my room to eat/use the litter box.

This is honestly the first time since Spooky’s passing that I’ve felt...okay? It’s hard to describe, but I just feel like she sent him to me to help me heal. He makes me happy, has me laughing at his kitten antics, and keeps me company when I’m hurting. My days have been brighter since he became a part of the family. I want to focus on building the same strong bond with him that I had with Spooky; I feel like everything is going to be okay now.

Full Wroggi get \ouo/ Thanks to the help of my friends; couldn’t have done this without them! I got everything maxed out and I’m satisfied with the defenses for the most part. It isn’t like I’m going to be wearing this to 136+ guild quests anyway. Aaaa dream set ;u; Also that’s an Evasion+6 Guts +2 OOO charm.

30: Favorite Type/Family of Monster To Hunt? Probably the flying wyverns.  As these battles tend to be fast paced and those are my favorite kinds of fights. I love to be kept on my toes, having to constantly dodge and actively search for openings. Though I love to take on anything that isn’t a Gravios xD!

31: Who/What Got You Into Monster Hunter? It wasn’t anyone or anything really. I literally picked it up at random one day and sorta fell into it myself. I just adore it because there’s really nothing that’s done for you. It’s entirely skill based and up to you to make the right moves/when to dodge/when to heal if you need it. Especially late G rank (and recently in 4U) after G rank, things can get pretty crazy and you’ll get punished quick for errors or getting too greedy. And it does a good job of easing you into it as you progress through the quests; you’ll be taking on these creatures having never even realized how far you’ve come until you go back one day to get some Great Jaggi Claw or something you need for a gem and you stop thinking “I used to think this was hard???” Eventually fights with some of these monsters feel like an elaborate dance for survival instead of “hit it til it dies.” (looking at you Apex Zinogre) I dunno,  I have never personally gotten the same feelings from any other game as I do from Monster Hunter. Not only is it literally my favorite game, but it is also a game that all my friends play and enjoy too! The nights that we get to all get together, I’ll end up staying up til 6-7-8 in the morning playing it with them, not even realizing the time went by so fast. It’s brought me closer to them as well I think and it will always be a very special game to me because of that. I know I’ll enjoy it for the rest of my life too, I’ll be an old lady still bitching about what a dick Rathalos is with those homing claws xD

This whole thing was really fun ;U; Even though I missed a few days and had to cram a few together, I would happily do another one of these if it ever pops up. I love Monster Hunter!
