There's only one thing that scares me that if Vanitas is partly based on Remi, and that's the fact that in Sans Famille, Remi is the son of Mrs. Milligan who he met before he knew she's his mother, they explain to you that Remi's uncle got rid of him because he was the only son left by his dead older brother, this is important since it was Remi's father who inherited most of the inheritance (or all, I don't remember well) so he thought that if Remi was gone he would inherit everything (although it ended up backfiring on him since Mrs. Milligan got pregnant before her husband died)
And this part is more like Luca and the queen with the throne than Vanitas himself………..
Some time ago the user @serramemos (twitter) theorized that Vanitas is the son of the queen, which sounds crazy since mini Vani was told that he looks like his mother, but this user also mentioned that it might be a lie and that even Vanitas's father could be more of someone tasked with protecting him, as well as Remi and Vitalis.
Could it be that something similar happened to the Milligans, and that the attack that killed the entire company was actually to get rid of Vani once and for all?
Also in one of @sorenzi flower analyses, he mentions that one of the Vanitas flowers is the Hyacinth, since this flower is named after a prince with whom several fall in love with him because of his beauty, one of them being Apollo, sun deity.
There is a pattern with these two myths with the theme of vampires and with what Jun mentioned about creating a relationship like Romeo and Juliet and even Dracula and it is about the love between two beings from different worlds, but at the same time the tragedy when one of them dies.
Something that doesn't help to deny it either is the manga itself, I don't know if I'm the only one who finds it strange that Dominique can die from falling from a Ferris wheel being a vampire, but Vanitas in chapter 1 falls headfirst with Noe from an aircraft and then in Gevaudan Jeanne threw him in the air to the ground and he fell to his feet without showing pain or anything, apart from the fact that this resistance was already a child as we saw in Misha's bow.
I SAY DON'T FUCK ME OR ONE OF TWO THINGS:
OR VANI DOESN'T WANT HIM DEATH AND THEY BLESSED HIM WITH BEAUTY AND A TITANIUM BONE SO THAT HE DOESN'T SHOW DEFORMITIES IN HIS FACE AND LEGS
OR DOMI IS MADE OF GLASS AND MARSHMALLOWS BECAUSE JUN WANTED IT THAT WAY.
And to be honest, I don't bet on either one of them.
Anyway, I hope this theory isn't true, it would be painful for everyone, Vanitas would realize that his life was a lie, the senate and the chasseurs would give them convulsions (the senate would do worse), Luca would faint because the guy who thought he was just a stinking bastard and Jeanne…… please no, there are already speculations about her being the queen, ahhhhh. The most painful thing is that it wouldn't be the first time that Jun didn't destroy hopes completely just to show us how good and cruel she is to write stories.

Vanitas name theory
I begin to believe that Vanitas is called Remi but not because of the cook rat movie but because of the too many similarities with Remi from Sans Famille, a novel written by Hector Malot in 1878 that received many adaptations.
-They both traveled with traveling performers and watched them die in front of their eyes (although in Sans Famille one of the dogs that I remember survives)
-They both see their father figures/guardians die, and in one of those it was to protect them
-They have been in many places and faced very adult situations for their young age.
-They have had to take care of others from an early age.
-They both have adoptive families and two mother figures.
-They have had to fend for themselves at some point in history.
-It seems that misfortune follows them everywhere.
-They both had parents of wealth or good family who are dead.
-At some point they get caught up in one of the worst situations a person can be in (Vanitas gets stuck with other kids with Dr Moreau and Remi gets stuck with workers in a mine)
-At some point in the story they travel with a partner their age, they get along very well and both partners have also suffered misfortunes because of the person who takes care of them or housed them before meeting them (Mattia and Garofoli, Noé and Teacher)
-They are older siblings with a little brother who is disabled or has a rare disease.
-They get along well with animals.
Let us remember that it is not uncommon for Jun to base the background or histories of his characters on choosing names that are highlighted by popular culture, such is the case of Jean-Jaques or Dr Moreau.
