God… the songs are very similar… would make sense since Go Diego Go and Wild Kratts have similar premises of teaching kids about the adaptations and behaviors of animals and the protags are animal rescuers… (Granted for the first three seasons of Go Diego Go it focused more on South American wildlife and… please Kratt Bros give me a South American camelid episode if only so I can make a lot of Emperor’s New Groove jokes) It also unlocked dormant memories of me watching the show when I was a kid

Is it just me, or does the song in "Activate Kid Power" take a lot of inspiration from Go Diego Go's music?

I remember watching that show as a kid before my Wild Kratts hyperfix (kudos to Go Diego Go for making me obsessed with jaguars and harpy eagles). For anyone confused, listen to the theme song of Go Diego Go and the resemblance is striking!

I am... slowly growing on the song. My initial reaction was it being a hard 5/10 but like... it kinda slaps. It falls into the same pitfalls as the other songs (being very short and the character vocals needing work) but.... I think it's the closest we'll ever get to the theme song in terms of catchiness. It's lowkey a banger.

You know, I love Kris to pieces, and I'm absolutely all for the super cool, ultra-competitive, often sassy/sarcastic, absolute girlboss depictions of her. She truly deserves all of it!!!! Her character design alone definitely gives off those vibes, and I'm sure there's in-game evidence to support that kind of personality (I haven't played Crystal yet so I can't actually confirm that part myself). But I'm also begging people please please please let her be just a tiny bit cringe because she deserves that too <3 I think that if you wanted to (key word is want---I'm genuinely not trying to police or judge anyone here, as there's nothing wrong with simple characterization---I'm just pointing out a common thing I've noticed), there's so many interesting ways to explore her personality without making her just another Cool Girl(TM).

(I've seen a similar thing with Lyra being simplified to sweet-but-a-little-ditzy and/or cheerful-but-secretly-Sad(TM) and/or having an "I can fix him" thing with Silver, but that's probably a conversation for another time >_> )

Okay, this might be for any show I love, but it has many flaws (cracks knuckles) here we go!!!!

Pokémon:

-get rid of the GS ball subplot. While the idea behind it is good… I think Shudo didn’t realize that Mythical Pokémon are usually used in the movies

-toning down Ash’s cocky behavior in Hoenn.

-Ambipom’s release… that is all.

Wild Kratts:

-to be fair… there’s barely anything to un-canonize… other than reworking the pilot of the show to fit the current animation

Magic School Bus:

- Have Phoebe share the limelight with Wanda in “Meets the Rot Squad”. Wanda only had one episode when she shared the spotlight with one of the other girls

-Carlos and Keesha support Phoebe during the events of “Butterfly and the Bog Beast”. This messaged was sponsored by the Phoebe Protection Squad

-the second half of “Goes Upstream” non-canon.

I got to say… for being the region after Kanto… Johto Gym Leaders need to have Johto Mons! Like… no Misdreavus for Morty?! A crime… and some Johto mons are native to Kanto… AKA the post game!

Finch Rambles: Giving the Johto Gym Leaders Better Teams

I like the Johto region as much as the next person, and I especially love the Gym Leaders. HOWEVER-- I think their Pokemon teams could be improved.

Note: I'm going with whatever Pokemon are available in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Falkner:

(This is what his team would look like early in the game. You would battle his Pidgeotto, Hoothoot, and Murkrow. Later in the game, his Pokemon would evolve for a rematch.)

Bugsy:

(You would battle his Ledian, Yanma, and Scyther in the Gym Match. For a rematch, you would battle his full team. Yamnma, Scyther, and Pineco would be evolved into Yanmega, Scizor, and Forretress, respectively.)

Whitney:

If we're going by pre Gen-6 type classifications, all of these are Normal-type Pokemon. But if we're going by modern Pokemon classifications, Whitney would be both a Normal- and Fairy-type Gym Leader.

Morty:

(This is the first team I had to pull some Pokemon from the National Pokedex in order to make sure there weren't any repeating evo lines. Johto is severely lacking in Ghost-type Pokemon.)

(Not enough Dragon-type Pokemon in Johto. Thank Arceus for the National Pokedex.)

This is just my thoughts. A while back, I watched an episode of the anime featuring Falkner, and he had a Hoothoot in that episode. I was disappointed to find out he didn't have a Hoothoot in his Gym Battle team in the games.
