The Pale Wyrm looks remarkably untroubled by the concept of such small, fleeting bugs holding such large, important troubles. Its eyes blink slowly again, mulling over the question asked of it, before it speaks again, in its hissing, whispering voice.

“They mean nothing to one such as I. Without a kingdom, there are no queens, nor are there any lords to serve under them, or knights to pledge oaths- and I have yet granted the free mind and will for such scholarly masters to seek their arts. Such titles may one day come to mean of things to great importance to me, but even then, I shall reign far above them, as god-ruler of the land, and they will listen and advise and squabble as they see fit, provided it holds no blasphemy against my name.”

The wyrm lowered its great body to the sands again. Flurries of stinging sand gust up from around its bladelike mandibles as it sighs, but it hardly notices, the great, leathery crest along its back raising slightly as it thinks. 

“For now, though...they are food.”

The Great Wyrm leans its head down, and blinks slowly at the creature’s offering. The many dark eyes it crafted to view the prey of the surface world are unfit for close view, and the minuscule circular object held in their claws is near-incomprehensible.

I accept this ‘bagel’, though its nature and purpose escape me. Explain, mortal; my curiosity has been piqued.

...What in the wastes? There is a strange familiarity to you, darkling creature, but I cannot recollect seeing you before in my life, nor felt the touch of your mind, and the visions of the future that would reveal your image are clouded to me

Mother guarded me fiercely then, the little hungry runt who ate its way through to the top, though I have not seen her since I grew old enough to claim my own territory, and she chased me from the nest. I suspect she waits for me even now, to fight her to the death and steal the followers that she amassed. An honourable death, for one such as her. To die under tooth and soul of a creature she raised, rather than a filthy outsider.

I refuse to be the one to grant her such a death.

PW: Very well. But be warned. There is a reason I despise my kin. Not for form...But for culture. The rites of Wyrms are as savage and brutal as the beasts we war with. And my family was no different.

PW: My sire and dam were both strong Wyrms. They met and courted in the typical fashion...with great violence

PW: The clutch was successful. But before we could hatch, my father heard a cry. Another Wyrm, a female, challenging him for territory and the right to brood. Both of my parents answered her call to war. 

PW: By the time mother came back to uncover the nest, it was too late. Far too late. I had hatched, premature, unforseen. I can still remember how her fangs dripped red. How well we had matched.

PW: How hungry I had been.

((1. Understandable but dyslexia is a bitch, I kind of just get through reading by guessing each word so I can’t exactly blame someone for not being able to read it when it’s super loopy and has my style of writing letters))

((2. It’s my handwriting so the loops are probably not going to go away fully no matter what I try. What I’m thinking about doing is thickening the letters, spacing it more, and darkening the speech bubbles so it’s more recognizable at a glance than thin white scrawling on grey))

hey i know it's for style but the font you use for the pk's speech is nigh unreadable as a dyslexic
