New community kitchen serving Mawasi Al-Qarara refugee camp in west Gaza

This is an initiative aiming to buy food, diapers, and other necessities in bulk to distribute to the residents of Mawasi Al-Qarara camp. The campaign is vouched for by one of my contacts in Gaza, who lives in the camp and will be helping with distribution.

The families in the Mawasi Al-Qarara area are facing unbearable challenges, being displaced from their homes and living under the constant threat of missiles, disease, and starvation. We aim to provide as much aid as possible using every penny given to us. Mohammed and his brothers, Salah and Youssef, will be on the ground distributing everything to the people of the camp. These families are in desperate need of help. We hope to alleviate some of their fears and worries of death by starvation or illness, as they navigate such challenging circumstances. Good morning my friends!!!! This is a post for my dear friend Samah. @samah-2 is a mom with very young children and a family she needs to support. They have only 11 percent of their current goal. Can we try and get that to 25 percent by Christmas/Hanukkah????? Please!!! Or even by the 20th! Lets do this. This is urgent, they are in dire circumstances and really need support, especially with the worsening weather and ongoing israeli violence.

Please tag friends on here, send it it to them, share with your families, do whatever you can. Maybe in the tags, say if you donate and encourage a match. Even 5 dollar matches can go a long way if you have a platform.

another update about siraj’s fundraiser situation

i finally received my first refund this morning and i am so glad, because it means i know my donation can go to the right place now, instead of being stuck in GFM’s bureaucracy or whatever.

if, like me, you received a refund from siraj’s now-terminated gofundme, please return it to him here. the new fundraiser is under his sister’s name but benefits the same people.

if you donated to the old fundraiser but haven’t received a refund within the past couple weeks, you should request a refund immediately to speed up the process. if you made several donations like i did, request a refund and then tell the customer service person you want refunds on all donations made with your email.

please share this post because a lot of now defunct posts about siraj’s old fundraiser have gotten a ton of notes but not any about his current situation. he lost over $27,000 USD and can no longer afford food, water and shelter for his family of 24, which includes 10 children under the age of 13. people who cared about his family enough to donate should know what happened.

a friend just tipped me off about Fund a Kitchen in Gaza, a free tool that helps you locate and donate to community kitchens currently serving some of Gaza's most vulnerable!

this lets you choose a region (south, central, north) and see which kitchens operate in that area, then donate to as many as you can.

as a reminder, community kitchens try to buy and cook in bulk, which makes ingredients last longer & sustain more people in the conditions of extreme scarcity that Israel is imposing right now. they are also able to serve people on the ground who may not have the means to reach out online.

so, whether through this tool or not, please do support community kitchens, as well as mutual aid groups that cover additional needs, such as the Sameer Project (meals, tents, cash aid, medical aid) and Dahnoun Mutual Aid (meals, tents, baby supplies, cash aid, winter clothes).

Abed needs $2000 to keep his hand

After weeks sleeping outdoors with no warm clothes or blankets, my friend Abed's @mohmad2 finger has turned black.

It will need to be amputated within days without treatment.

His type 1 diabetes makes this especially urgent. It could turn worse much more quickly; he can only manage to get insulin a couple times a week and has been hospitalized with a coma countless times since the war started.

Please help my friend by sharing and/or donating. He, his wife, and their children have been through relentless trauma and hardship, and unfortunately I do not have the funds to save his hand without help.

I want to tell you more about me and why this campaign has taken a toll on my mental and physical health. I'm sure you understand me if you also suffer from social anxiety. I am living through introvert hell and I just want it to stop.

My exhaustion can't be described with words. Every day I wish I had died when this all started. Everything exhausts me. Please help, please. Abed @mohmad2 is raising funds to support his family after they were displaced from Gaza City to Deir Al-Balah.

His two previous campaigns, which raised over €5000, were terminated by GFM with no prior warning or explanation. This was catastrophic, as he requires these funds to feed and supply his young family. He and his wife have 2 children, a toddler and a newborn, and they are struggling to feed and provide them with medical care.
