—- Yell at her… subordinates?
Of all answers she could have given, the string of words she chose to shape into sentences were far from his expectations. Evidently confused, he frowned while at a loss for words for only a moment. They’re… Wait, so your… subordinates are after you? Because of a failed delivery?” Scratching at his jaw, his empathy grew. After all, there were plenty of crew members aboard the Mother Ship who, for some reason, still struggled to follow EXACT ORDERS. It was a source of frustration he knew all too well, and it was because of this familiarity that he nodded with understanding. “Sounds rough. It’s hard to have to watch over a bunch of idiots who refuse to follow the simplest of tasks, like managing time.”
Eyes widened with absolute befuddlement when she had decided ‘to take the edge off’ with a slice of lime, though. The one thing he couldn’t relate to, even if his impulses often resembled those of a child. “… Uh…” But he bit his tongue, blinking twice to shake off the confusion and instead focus on her very direct question. Seconds passed of him saying nothing, until it finally clicked. “Oh. No, it’s ah… You know. MY SKIN. No ink, just my… … … husk of a soul.” Had any other person in this reeking place asked the exact same thing, he would have ripped the teeth from their gums– but there was something endearing about the glisten in her eyes. Perhaps the lack of judgment. A rare smile tugged at his lips. “My skin is a rich blue, just like how yours is a beautiful brown. There’s even people out there with purple and pink skin. Fun world, right? A kaleidoscope of colors.” Watching the door for a moment, he remembered what she had said before. “Hey, when you say they’re after you, what’s it mean? With ill intent?” A pause. “… Intent to hurt?”
Daiana’s eyes rolled sideways and her little head tilted, as though she were rummaging about in her mind for the fragments of remarks she’d heard titio say— but only for a moment, before she found what she was looking for and suddenly slapped her tiny palms on the bar with furrowed brows.
“ Ya, they’re a bunch a’ idiots! ” she parroted, “ They never get th’ kilos delibered. ”
She listened intently to the creature before the smile tugging at his lips drew her curious gaze upwards to his face, at which point her eyes widened and twinkled, and her lips parted in amazement of his beauty before widening into an excited smile. Glittering pride filled her immediately at his compliment of her skin and it was visible in the way she faintly puffed up.
Without thinking, Daiana found her tiny outstretched finger very gently touching his long nails and jewelry; she was feeling much more at ease after seeing his smile.
“ Purple and pink skin !! ” she practically yelled, before trying her hand at the new word he’d introduced to her: “ A kal-ai-bas… tote. ” A pause, before that frown returned to her brows. “ If your deliv’ry’s late, some goons will come after you! You hafta go to a safe house! ”

Daiana meandered along the street, enjoying the warmth of the sun on her skin as she unwrapped a Jolly Rancher and popped it in her mouth. As she walked, she began to hear a familiar tune come into earshot... one which sounded a lot like the music to a game she had been begging for for her birthday. She quickly scanned her surroundings to locate the source of the music-- a big man sitting on a nearby bench leaning over a Nintendo 3DS.
Her eyes widened and she darted over behind him within three seconds, her hands on his shoulders as she practically crawled up his back to look over his shoulders. “ Is that New Leaf!? ” she yelled into his ear, her enraptured eyes searching his device. “ Let me see! ”

—- “…. That’s not funny, Daiana.”
Cadillac crosses his arms. “You just want me to look like an idiot because I’m PEELING A BANANA. I never took you for the kind to ridicule me this way… You should be considerate of the feelings of others, you know… But only sometimes.” Like right now – but definitely not all the time. Not the kind of advice you’d want to give to a child.
Daiana’s jaw dropped, her troubled eyes wide as she craned her neck to stare at Cadillac. “ But... I’m not ridi-cooling you! You’re s’posed to... ” She paused for a moment, considering how to demonstrate her lesson. She lifted her hands and pretended she was peeling a banana. “ You’re ‘posed to take the nub on top and pull it off! The peel is yucky! ”
She hesitated then, her hand trembling as reached for his stomach, genuine concern in her eyes. “ Is your tummy okay? ”
