more young Damas headcanon stuff!
1: arguing with Praxis (who at this point was Commander of the Guard and chief military advisor to the Crown) about appropriate leadership strategies during the metalhead war– Damas was a hotheaded teen and Action Guy who couldn’t stand waiting safely within the walls like a proper Havenite King, while Praxis naturally did not approve of the last Heir of Mar running off to the front lines.
2: shortly after Damas’s final confrontation against Praxis. I strongly doubt Praxis intended Damas to have any chance of survival– it wasn’t an ‘exile’ so much as a narrowly evaded murder attempt. Damas was presumed dead following his defeat, abandoned in the wastelands with the knowledge that even if he could somehow make it back to Haven he was no longer welcome there.
3: a couple doodles for shortly after Damas and Sig first met! Damas was on his own for a couple weeks (definitely no more than a month) before they crossed paths; after their first encounter they decided to travel together and became close friends. c:

[late reply but] yesss!!! this is so sweet and Good and I'm 100% here for awkward post-reveal figuring-things-out moments, especially involving communication and respect for boundaries... consent is vital to building a healthy relationship, and should be a major aspect of any post-reveal development.

eeeyyy I did one of these for damas too!
....I learned that 1: I've done so many Damas doodles that I could easily find a recent match (similar expression/angle) for every single one of the old pics, and 2: he's changed much less than the main duo, aside from the overall stylistic drift.
