Losing my brother @kristoffstjohn it still feels like a bad dream... The thing that eventually strikes you about the death of someone you love is the permanence. When that hits, there is an overpowering sense of loneliness and aloneness. Those wounds do not remain raw, not forever, but they do remain. You never get over it because 'it' is the person you loved. The pain stops, there are new people, but the gap never closes. How could it? The particularness of someone who mattered enough to grieve over is not made anodyne by death. I've thought a lot about death recently, the finality of it, the argument ending in mid-air. One of us hadn't finished, why did the other one go? And why without warning? Even death after long illness is without warning. The moment you had prepared for so carefully took you by storm. I cannot say, and I will not say That he is dead. He is just away. With a cheery smile, and a wave of the hand, He has wandered into an unknown land And left us dreaming how very fair It needs must be, since he lingers there. And you—oh you, who the wildest yearn For an old-time step, and the glad return, Think of him faring on, as dear In the love of There as the love of Here. Think of him still as the same. I say, He is not dead—he is just away. Time doesn’t heal all wounds. We both know that’s bullshit; it comes from people who have nothing comforting or original to say. Sadly enough, the most painful goodbyes are the ones that are left unsaid and never explained It hurts when they're gone. And it doesn't matter if it's slow or fast, whether it's a long drawn-out disease or an unexpected accident. When they're gone the world turns upside down and you're left holding on, trying not to fall off. Never take life for granted. The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself. For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the courage to start all over again. If people refuse to look at you in a new light and they can only see you for what you were, only see you for the mistakes you've made, if they don't realize that you are not your mistakes, then they have to go.It’s only after you’ve stepped outside your comfort zone that you begin to change, grow, and transform. Times like this in my life standing among screaming fans bright lights red-carpets and media All of this is is great and I am greatful to have worked in this industry for 20+years but when the night ended and I came to my room alone I sat here tonight and remembered how this almost Ended A few years ago I faced near death having 3 tumours removed from my brain and in 2004 I had it all money a nice house nice car the love of my life and it was all gone when my house burnt down to the ground on Dec 24 2004 and I was forced out into the street with nothing more then the clothes on my back.. You learn real quick who has your back when your up and who is no where to be found when your down....All the nice clothes jewelry house pimped out ride many people confuse with success and think thats what defines a person. but What really matters in the end? It won't matter what kind of car we drove, what kind of house we lived in or how much money we had in the bank.
