if you ever criticize the US military without fail, and I do mean without fail, someone will go "Pfft. if it weren't for the US military you would be speaking german, or Russian, or japanese" and I just can't imagine having to give the one war that was justified, over 80 years ago, as a great example of the benevolence and greatness of the US army when they've objectively used FAR more armament for the destruction, invasion, and occupation.

both Laos and Korea had more bombs dropped on them than all the bombs every country dropped during the course of ww2. the US tried to make Laotian land unusable, and to this day industrialization is incredibly difficult because of the sheer amount of undetonated bombs in the country. there is no justification for that. there is no justification for that. none.

I'm sure though, Americans will find a way to justify any and all atrocities the united states commits, especially against countries which serve no tangible threat to the US in any way. god help you if you actually do represent a legitimate threat to america hegemony.
