The church thing seems to be a question for a lot of people . Here are my thoughs as a french viewer.

In France people usualy go to church on sundays. I think the church scene is going to be this week but part of episod 9.

My uncle had a ranch back east and when my father died he took us in.  Gave my Ma time to grieve.  For two young boys, there was no better place to find trouble.  It was hard work, though, but we loved it.  My uncle, he even offered me the ranch.
