Thinking of Fallout AU Frankie in a hypothetical scenario of using her alias and word gets around with wastelanders going "Yeah this woman calls herself C as a way to honor her dad I guess" and she sounds just close enough to what Cooper can imagine Janey might've grown up to be like in his absence that he has to meet her and likewise Frankie thinks Coop is just close enough to the things she remembers about her dad. But then they get to talking about stuff only Janey would know about Cooper or stuff only Caleb would know about Frankie and the realization sets in that ah, this isn't the person they thought it was.

@luposcainus sent: ❛  i don’t usually just walk up to strangers but my friends set me up to it. ❜
FIRST MEETING STARTERS. (always accepting)
The diner wasn't often too busy on days like this one, the heat scorching sand and leaving the air blisteringly dry and parched for life outside. The desert had a distinct way of driving its few hardy inhabitants indoors or underground until the sun went down. One thing that stuck out to C, in that respect, was a small pack of people seated at one of the booths toward the back of the building. They didn't look like they were from around here.
“Oh, yeah?” her eyes flicked over to the approaching stranger as she sat back and leaned away from her plate of food on the counter. “You gonna go and introduce me to your friends, then?”
The girl pivoted on the bar stool and leaned an elbow against the edge, assessing him from the ground up to determine whether he posed any threat or not. “Or yourself, maybe?”

In another time and place perhaps Frankie might have counted herself among the summer partygoers for an evening of drunken fun. But the way she saw it, her fun was more rooted in what she saw as the basic necessity of her longtime favorite hobby; honing her survival skills. She'd gravitated toward the sporting goods depot and although she'd planned to hang with her friends all night, she decided to part ways with them and head inside the store on her own.
"I look like I work here to you?" She slowly turned from the counter to look at the man who'd spoken, wrinkling her brow. "Or do I just strike you as the type of person who indiscriminately carries buckshot around?"
@cutlier
The summer people weren’t Kendall’s favorites. They had their loud parties that could be heard along the sound and some of them treated Montauk as if it were Fire Island. He’d heard rumors about orgies and drunken nights at the big lobster roll place in town. If he had been a younger and stupider man, he would have joined right in on the fun and enjoyed himself, but those days were far behind him now.
He was happy walking along the streets just as he was right now and stopping in at various stores. A long time ago, people would have thought that Kendall Roy running errands was some kind of sick joke cooked up by one of his father’s papers, but he had adjusted well to civilian life all things considered.
He had stopped at a fishing and hunting place and nodded at a young woman near the counter. “You got any buckshot?” he asked without so much as a hello and paused. “It’s for a friend of a friend of mine.”

paddyfuck·:
“Sure it’s grand.” Anne’s assurances likely mean little when one is faced with the potential for their grandmother’s wrath, but the river isn’t that far and though the nip in the air suggests the mildness of Autumn will make way for the bitternessof Winter, it feels like a waste to spend it sitting on the porch and watching the afternoon float away. Fishing is the safest hobby there is, sitting on the grassy banks and waiting for one of the many fish to take a nibble at the bait. She used to do this with Peter, but with him being busy this particular afternoon? She’s bored to tears. She wouldn’t leave Frankie alone, and she would watch her like a hawk, the same way she has a time or two when she has been permitted to babysit. Anne’s expression brightens into one of pure delight. “I knew I could twist your arm, I already have the fishing rods ready. Let’s mosey.”
"Promise we won't get caught?" She happily trudges along beside Anne as they start toward the river together. The worry of getting in trouble with grandma is still fairly heavy on her mind, and more importantly, if grandma were to find out they snuck off and then tell her parents about it when they got home, that could result in worse consequences. "I can handle grandma, but if my mom and dad ever found out…"
Caleb is undeniably the fun parent when it comes to things like letting Frankie have all the sweets she could ever want and being gentle and kind and understanding about kid feelings, but he could also be a little overbearing where matters of safety were concerned. Last thing she wanted to do was end up worrying him needlessly. "Well you know what my dad's like." The slight chill in the wind blows just a bit stronger the closer they get to the river, seeming to stir up positive energy within her, and soon the concern she'd felt is replaced by a shiver of excitement in the prospect of adventure and sneaky rule breaking.

JAY: What's this? C: A scan. Of me. The park was designed to collect data from guests. He's trying to copy all of us. STUBBS: You are? BERNARD: It's complicated. You have to trust me. C: I do. I trust that you're lying to me. To all of us.
Watching 4.06 - Fidelity and I am infinitely more sad to realize that we'll probably never really know what this was all about.
