i must concede defeat.
my sister got me a bunch of 'ohuhu watercolour brush pens' and i have no idea what the fuck i'm doing.
i've tried many watercolour techniques. i've tried just foolin around with them as markers. i've tried just using them to tint water/wet pages. they only spread/are mixable/behave the slightest bit like watercolours on a single type of paper i have, and it's NOT the shitty bane-of-my-existence watercolour paper, everywhere else they're like a permanent marker that absolutely WILL bleed through the other side.
i don't know how to art anymore o____o
#the art process#art is a process#*gross sobbing*#i love them and want to scrawl all over everything with them#but also everything is awful and what are even colours what is art#what is anything#kait halp#rest assured they're getting fucking used#i need a day of like... throwing them all over the floor#getting out a huge pad of paper#and going crazy child-style-colouring-book on them#they also don't like to be layered much#on any of my paper#>:I#I WILL FIGURE THEM OUT ONE DAY

trying to search bird face reference images on google and it just bombards you with a stream of constant ai and photomanips and i JUST NEED SOME REAL HECKIN CROW REFS WHY IS THIS SO HARD GOOGLE.
#i haven't drawn animals in forever#and birds are ooof#the art process#silly me wanting to dive in the deep end with face-on perspective bird drawings#with google providing NOTHING that looks right#nor any of the perspectives i need#i'm gonna have to go through my own phone and see if any of those crow photos i've taken#a millenia ago#are useful for my needs ;n;#that feel when you have the brain memories of what goes into certain perspectives on bird#but it's just bits and pieces and your hands do not remember what art is#i swear i used to be competent at this stuff xD#art is a process

the worst part of not drawing for a while is re-training your muscles and mind to work together as well as they used to.
it's like riding a bike: your brain remembers but your body completely forgets.

experimenting with watercolours and pencil crayons.
first head is how i normally approach colouring my art. pencil sketch, watercolours, get frustrated with waiting for paint to dry, forget about it until later and layer a little more paint in hair, then finish up with pencil crayons on top for detailing, emphasis, and colour variance.
second head i decided to use pencil crayons instead for the face, building up lightly with minimal pencil markings showing through. then the hair (+ eyebrows) are undetailed watercolour wash with in a slightly shifted more stylized shade than her standard orangey hair colour.
third head i was going over in just watercolours and lost track of what i was doing.

i love art streams and wanted to eventually get around to being able to do my own. and since i'm more recently in the process of having to re-learn art muscle memory since i haven't been consistent with anything, i figured streaming my agonizing process would be one way of actually getting me to do and commit to it at all.
however.
this would not be digital art, so no clean contained streaming setup all in one place. no. this would have to be a traditional chicken-scratch use-your-gaddamn-phone-as-a-camera-and-hope-for-the-best, laptop set to the side to see anything sort of mess of a setup. and i'm wondering...
would people at all be interested in witnessing such shenanigans from me?
