Even being in witchcraft for years and speaking with spirits still blows my mind sometimes
Last night I astral travelled and a spirit told me a two line poem in Latin. I don’t know Latin. But I figured it out when I woke up cuz I remembered ONE word ‘verandum’. Then I tried to look up Latin poems and discovered epigrams very short poems in Latin and I also did not know exist.
In short my logical brain always get shocked when stuff like this happen because I’m like “is this real or just my brain” but I DONT KNOW LATIN. I NEVER HEARD OF EPIGRAMS. And I hate poetry lol so not an area I have ever studied outside of school.
So like I had a spirit recite a poem about truth to me that I didn’t understand in a proper poem structure I didn’t know about.
Mind blowing

Hmm once when I woke up in the middle of the night I was trying to astral project (to the astral plane to be clear) but my energies were unusually giddy and high and I started to feel wonky in bed after the buzzing stage but kept being too excited to actually astral project (normally I have a sinking within my own mind feeling but I was too awake for that) anyway I needed to pee and decided to get out of bed I get halfway across the room before I realise
1. I can’t see.
2. I can’t see because I left my body
3. I can’t pee because I don’t have a body
I fridge back to my bed and lie back down where my body is but I don’t know how to get back in cuz I have never done this before until I decided to “open” my body’s eyes and felt like I jolted back into my body and suddenly like I hadn’t been breathing. I never been so grateful for my own body in my life kept thinking “I’m home, I’m home” over and over again.
Hope this helps. Was a toss up between this one and the nicest sleep paralysis story you’ll probably hear.
Does anyone have any stories of spirit contact, OBE’s, near death, or other metaphysical experiences that go pretty much unexplained, or reaffirm their belief in existence of all this? A lot of people, myself included, are going through a period of doubt, and I think sharing these stories is a good morale boost.

Actually had a malicious spirit do that to me before where they touched me and I couldn’t move (I screamed so loud inside my head that my spirit companion came to rescue me and woke me up) it is NOT FUN.
“Spirit work is inherently dangerous”
Hopefully if you do spirit work or are looking into it you’ve heard this before. And it’s easy to read that and think, Oh, okay, they’re not all nice, I have to stay safe.
But don’t merely think that. Don’t read it, recognize the meaning, and move on.
Imagine.
Imagine the scary stories you’ve heard from spirit workers happening. Don’t think it will never happen to you. Don’t assume you are safe.
Imagine that your wards, all your protection methods, somehow, aren’t strong enough. That something’s gotten through.
Imagine the feeling of imminent danger, yourself and your friends and whoever you may live with–even if they don’t even believe in spirits–being in harm’s way.
Imagine being unable to move because some malicious spirit touched you and now you can’t move, your mind is racing and you are trying to move but your body can no longer obey.
Imagine pain running through like fear, your heart racing, your eyes wide and the unshakable sense that this is the end.
Imagine.
And then. If you still decide you want to go into spirit work or continue down that path. Alright.
But first, imagine.
They are not empty words. The warnings given are there for a reason.

I hate how difficult it can be to look stuff up about astral projection because when you have a specific problem you get nothing. Like I can’t google
“Sometimes i astral project and I can’t call my spirit guide and I’m somewhere my powers don’t work so well and I’m being perused by a mob”

Word of Caution: Past life readings can be rather difficult, emotionally to read. When I did mine, I almost started to cry.
Who was I in my past life?
Was I married?
Was I happy in my past life?
What kind of work did I do in my past life?
Was I an honorable person?
What types of problems or challenges did I deal with?
Was I a famous person?
Was I in good health during my past life?
How did I die?
Did I have a soul mate?
Is my present love, someone I knew from my past life?
Am I linked to my parents of today from a past life?
Are any other family members from a past life of mine?
What do I need to learn during this life time?
Will I reincarnate after this present life?

Quick question. Been noticing over the past year or so when I’m falling asleep at night my I’ll start hearing something in the background of the thoughts/daydream as I’m drifting out of consciousness. Can be snippets of conversations, music I’ve never heard of before.. weird thing is it’s like... I’ve always heard it in that state but I haven’t been made aware of it until recently? Thing is I have no idea what on Earth I’m hearing FROM (no I don’t live in an apartment, it’s a detached house, no it isn’t noises from inside the house it’s very much something only I can hear)
So any ideas what it is?

Psychic Powers: Automatic Writing
AUTOMATIC WRITING!
Also known as Psychography.
Automatic Writing allows a person to produce written words without consciously writing. These words are from a subconscious, spiritual, or supernatural source.
Basically, it’s a non-scary way to speak with your “Higher Self”, spirit guides, or spirits. It allows you to see their perspective subconsciously, while using claircognizance.
WHY DO AUTOMATIC WRITING?
Here are some examples of when you could do it…
When you have a fear of spirits and are too scared to contact your guides in any other way
When you are not yet very clairvoyant or clairaudient (you can’t hear or see your spirit guides), so you want to try another way.  Automatic writing is actually very easy if you manage to put your mind to one side, and I know lots of people who have trouble hearing their inner voice who have had success with automatic writing.
When you want to get your Higher Self’s perspective on something that is bothering you – (I used to do automatic writing when I was upset about something and needed to raise my vibration. I’d tune into my higher self and start writing.  She always had some very comforting and insightful things to say about any situation.)
Or just when you have some questions that you want a spiritual perspective on.
HOW TO BEGIN AUTOMATIC WRITING!
Sit down with a blank piece of white paper in front of them, while holding a pen.
I’ve also heard, before, that you can sit at a computer and type - but this is high unlikely to work. It would take a lot of energy for another being to move your hands across a keyboard. Pen/pencil and paper is very recommended.
Begin writing without conscious thought.
The conscious mind recedes into the background, so that wisdom from other realms of consciousness many be channeled through and handwritten, or typed. Often those who do automatic writing have no idea what they have written until they read over their notes.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
Start each automatic writing session with ‘My Spirit Guides’ or ‘My Higher Self’ or ‘My Angels’ as the first line.
You can call on all of them if you want.  Be clear about whose input you want, as it sets an intention to hear from that being. If you want, you can also see your guides as parts or extensions of you that you can access whenever you want, like your subconscious.   (The more you see these entities as beings outside of you, the more channeling them may seem quite elusive.) If you want, you can also raise your vibration and connect with your guides/higher self before you begin typing.  For example, you can do some deep breathing, or visualize going up to a room to meet with your guides, so that you can get their input for the duration of the session.
Just start writing and don’t worry about what you’re writing at first.
For example, write your question and just see what comes out when you put your fingers on the keys. You don’t have to focus on the question, just start writing about anything that comes into your head. The trick with this is to get used to writing (if you are not already).  The more you’re used to writing, the easier it is to get into that ‘flow’ state when writing.
Setting a timer while you do it can be helpful
This is so that you don’t have time to think about what you’re writing. That works particularly well when you have a set of questions you want to ask your guides.
Create the right conditions so that you can lose your inhibitions about what you’re writing
I (personally) like to make sure I’m completely alone before automatic writing, and then insure that I’m writing in a journal or on a piece of paper that I can put somewhere safe, so that no one else reads it.
Don’t allow your mind to interpret the information while you’re getting it
You can interpret it afterwards.  But know that it is totally normal for the mind to butt in and judge information in the process.
HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU’RE DOING IT CORRECTLY?
Channeled information tends to be high vibrational in nature.   It will often comfort you, provide clarity or will raise your mood in some way. If it feels negative or feels heavy, you’re probably not channeling a source that you want to tap into - or you may just be channeling your own emotional body, if you are not feeling very good. What you channel via writing will usually not sound like your voice or the voice that you ‘think’ in. Another feature of intuitive guidance is that it tends to be very clear, usually feels light and is often simply expressed.   Having said that, I have read automatic writing that is poetic and metaphorical in nature.  But don’t be hung up on how yours should sound or be. If you do it often enough, you will soon get a sense for what your automatic writing ‘feels’ like.

Your Spirit Guide/ Guardian
A spirit guide (or guardian, as I like to call them) is a spirit (or spirits) who are assigned (more or less) to guiding and guarding you throughout your life. Being able to speak with your guardian is important and powerful tool to working your magick.
Keep in mind- it is my belief that everyone has a spirit guardian, but how in tune with that guardian you are completely depends on you and your determination to become in tune with them.
Guides and guardians come from a long line of powerful spirits that are completely dedicated to your success. As their soul responsibility, the power your guardian will likely give you will be immense. As with my guardian, we have a deep understanding for each other, and our relationship stretches back to most of my human lives.
How To Find Your Guide/Guardian
Finding your Guide/Guardian is something that may take a little time. There are a few methods for trying to find your guardian, but, often, they will reveal themselves to you, often when you are in the most need.
Tumblr media
Meditate- I know this seems to be my go-to answer for just about everything, but meditation truly allows us to think and feel outside of ourselves.
The Tarot- Again, I use a lot of tarot so it should come as no surprise that this is on the list. The tarot is not just useful for learning about the future, it can also be an excellent tool when searching for unseen answers in the present.
Any Divination Method- And on that note, any sort of divination method can be used and have the same affect.
A Spell- One crafted to bring your Spirit Guide and Guardian to you.
A Sigil- You may even craft a sigil to the same purpose.
Tumblr media
Now, here are a couple fact:
Your spirit guide/guardian is NOT a ghost. Ghosts are usually the souls of the living that have yet to pass on to the next life. For your Guardian, this IS their life.
Your spirit guide/guardian is probably very similar to an angel, though not entirely.
Spirit guardians can be placed to watch over things and places as well as people.
Communication with your guardian may be tricky at first, but does get easier.
You may have more than one. This is not a reflection on how inexperienced/”stupid” you are. Many people who are very gifted witches have more than one, but their path requires them to face dangers that require that extra help. If you happen to have more than one Guardian, consider yourself extremely lucky!
Guardians usually follow a hierarchy of sorts. Many of them have lived human lives in the past (or lives in other realms) and have been elevated to the “position” of Guardian. I’m not entirely sure who gives them this “promotion”- perhaps they choose it for themselves.
Your Guide/Guardian can teach you many things regarding magick. My Guardian has given me entire spells before.
Your Guardian can lend you extra energy and focus in spells- use them.
Now, some warnings:
Be careful who you give your Guardian’s name to. Their name is often used to summon them, and, while they usually only adhere to your summons, having their name can give an incredible amount of power to anyone who knows how to use it.
Your Guardian is not infallible! Sometimes, just like us, they make mistakes. Which means that sometimes, when working with your guardian, it will require patience on your part.
Your Guardian also requires love and attention! I know this sounds weird, but over time you will develop quite a strong relationship and bond with your Guardian.
Your Guardian is still a fully autonomous entity! Do not treat them like a slave!
Hopefully ya’ll find this information useful! I know it’ s a bit different from what I normally post. Have a happy Friday everyone!

How can I tell the difference between astral travel and just plain daydreaming?
I keep getting asks about astral travel so I feel I should clarify:
I started astral travelling in my sleep on accident, and from there I used my dreams to travel and get things done via lucid dreaming. You can research lucid dreaming for yourself.
I cannot astral travel while awake unassisted. I am not the right person to ask. I’m bad at it, as I am bad at meditating.
Sometimes I have friends “pick me up” so to speak to yeet me out of my body, but other than that? I lucid dream to travel.

✨Spirit Companion Tip✨
Having trouble sensing your spirit companion? Play hide and seek with them!
Start out easy. Close your eyes and count to ten  While your companion moves around your room in plain sight, no hiding just yet. Look around and try to pick out where they are. Are they on your bed? In a corner? Do this a few times until you get the hang of it.
Next, ask them to actually hide. This is trickier, because it’s not just a matter of seeing them, but sensing them. Instead of just opening drawers and closets willy nilly, try to see if you can feel where they are before you go to inspect.
Eventually, you can open up the hide and seek zone to your entire house/apartment. The larger the space, the more challenging the game.

Astral Travel: a Quick Guide
First, what is astral travel? Astral travel is a form of visiting the metaphysical planes of the Astral. Unlike astral projection, however, you are still aware of your physical body, but not to the point of bilocation. Astral travel is easier to start astral adventures because you don’t have to worry about that itch on your head to distract you from sensing things in the astral. The cars out your window, or your family downstairs doesn’t mess with your sight. It’s also nice to wake up when someone opens your door, and not be totally unaware of your physical body. I have a handy chart to help point out the differences between bilocation, travel, and projecting.
Tumblr media
Okay that’s cool and all, but how do you get to the astral?
First, make sure you have wards, shields, protection, all of that good jazz. You’ll need these for all spirit work, astral work, astral travel/projection, even if you don’t wanna do any of that protection is always needed!
My first suggestion is to try guided meditation. When you listen to their words, and go to the places they describe, you are creating your own astral plane. (For a more thorough how to, click HERE).
If you don’t want to try a guided meditation, my biggest suggestion would be to get comfortable, play music if you want/need. I suggest sitting while you do this. Things can get confusing when your physical body’s gravity is pulling a different way than your astral bodies, and it can throw off concentration. Get into a meditative state. This just means that you have steadied your breathing and are aware of your blood flow. You feel the energy inside of you, outside of you, around you. You are just, aware. And then, stand up. Not physically. Just, imagine yourself standing up. Don’t be worried if things slip into 3rd person perspective, or if things get a cartoony look. Sometimes that’s just how you perceive the astral. Go to your bedroom door and open it. When you open it, picture the otherside to be a land you’ve never seen before, let it be whatever it wants to be.
When you are done, head back to your body, just to be safe. Many astral bodies can travel back to the physical body on their own when there is no focus on them, but some don’t, and still others have an autopilot, and until you know what your body does, it’s best to make sure it’s safe with your physical.
Other ways to enter and leave the astral, as well as travel between planes:
Crawl through a mirror
Blink and you’re in a new place (this is teleportation)
Imagine the world swirling around you until it comes to a stop and you’re in a new place
Imagine a tear opening up in space that you can step through
Open a door to wherever you would like to go
Go out a window
Anything else you can think of!
So many things in the astral are only done if you believe in them, so try not to lose faith. If your senses aren’t 100% while you astral travel, don’t worry either! Trust your gut! What feels right? Does this tree feel brown, or blue? If your first thought is blue, don’t go “Oh great I’m making things up” because you might not be! Your astral body sees everything just as it should be, but when the information goes to your physical mind, it sometimes gets lost in the connection, and you don’t sense everything just as though it was physical. This is a skill that takes lots of time to hone in on, so just keep working at it and you’ll be fine. For extra practice you could always have a friend flash colours in your face, so that you have to guess them. I personally have a room that shows colours, shapes, numbers, and other images for new spirit workers to practice their senses!
It may take lots and lots of practice, but anyone can astral travel! If you really can’t you can always ask another spirit worker to take you out of your body and out on an adventure! Or ask a trusted spirit friend to help! You can have someone (or do it yourself) to enchant an object to help with your senses! If you know you’ve left your body but can’t see, you may want to clear blockages and cleanse!
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask! Make sure you ward beforehand and stay safe!!!

How To Create an Astral Temple
The astral temple is a place created through meditation, and astral projection. Astral projection is not needed in order to create, or use an astral temple. Despite being called an astral temple it is actually more on the etheric plane then the astral plane. An astral temple is a place in between worlds. This environment can be completely controlled by the petitioner, and can be a place where the practitioner can do magickal workings. Many practitioners use their astral temple for invocation, servitor creation, shamanic journeys, summoning spirits, and much, much more. Astral temples are designed, and built by the petitioner. It can look any way he, or she would like it too. Astral temples are actually created a lot like servitors where we build it from intense visualization, intent, and programmed energy. It is said that you can create astral temples with other people, or your coven. Once you create your astral temple you’ll never need to create it again, but you will need to visit it on a regular basis, or it will collapse upon itself, and cease to exist. Astral temples can be incredibly useful, and now it is time to learn how to create one. Step by step time!
1)Preparation
You first have to come up with an idea, or blueprint in order to create your astral temple. You need to think what you want your astral temple to look like, what attributes it will have, and the things you wanted to come with. You need to do this in great detail, and you even need to think of what everything is made out of. This step will take different amounts of time for everybody depending on how creative you would like to be. More artsy people could spend hours in this step. Where people who can only draw stick figures may spend like 15 seconds. All you have to do is come up with a blueprint of how it is going to look, work, and feel. Be as creative as you would like, and have fun with it.
2) Starting ritual
Once you have your blueprint completely planned out it is time to begin the ritual. Begin with your banishing ritual of choice you can use any of them like the lesser banishing ritual of the pentagram, the lesser banishing ritual of the hexagram, or even the gnostic pentagram ritual. Next you’ll probably want to cast a circle, or use another form of protection method. Then sit down, and close your eyes.
3) Creation
To begin the creation process you must enter a meditative state through any method that you find appealing. Once in this meditative state you must first envision the landscape that you will be building your temple upon. The landscape can be anything including a forest, ocean, swamp, or even space itself. The sky’s the limit. All that really matters is that the environment is comfortable, and relaxing to you.  Once you have the landscape begin building your temple through envisioning it being built Brick by Brick from the foundation to the top. See yourself building your astral Temple adding all of the meticulous details. Allow everything to become tangible, and for you to fully immerse yourself in this world you’re creating for yourself. Create everything you had in mind, and in your blueprint that you wanted back in preparation. Remember to use strong visualization, intent, and will to forge your your astral Temple from the energetic building blocks of the etheric plane. When you are done slowly back out of the meditation. Open your eyes, and undo your circle. Remember you can go back to your astral temple any time by just entering a meditative state and willing to be there.

Tips for building mind spaces
Mindspaces, also referred to as inner temples, are a great step between meditation and astral travel experiences. However, they are an amazing multi-purpose standalone tool as well. Especially for undercover witches who need to keep their practice secret!
I divide them into two types: basic mind spaces and shadow spaces. This post is about the basic mind spaces.
Basic mind space.
This is essentially a bubble in the space between this plane and the astral planes. It belongs to you and you can change it around as you see fit. Those are like your accounts in dropbox. Just like dropbox or other cloud services, those are password protected etc etc; you get to keep stuff there, its not 100% break-in proof, but safe enough. And you can generate a link to the bubble and send it to a friendly spirit/deity/any entity really, that you want to hang out with.
This place is great as a safety retreat - you can rest here should things get tough. I feel that energy work and practice can be done easier in the mind space, and you can study the energy more directly and it flows much easier than in physical. There’s also spirit work to a done here.  Invite your spirit friends over, meet with your deities for a cup of coffee, so much potential for fun~  There is a lot of room for experiments, spell casting and learning. And finally you can set up a passage that’ll take you straight to astral planes.
Your mind space is very flexible and it can look like anything. It can be a room, a garden, a house, a mountain top, a metro station, an underwater location, a formless blob of darkness. Anything YOU want. Coming back to energy work - it is easier to work with and shape energy, hence its easier to build structures in your space that allow for anything you can think of. Kind of like Rose’s room in Steven Universe. Although it takes more than a wish to make that structure stable.
Here’s a great post to check out by @stsathyre
How to build a mind space.
An important point to keep in mind is that mind spaces can be re-shaped easily, so just go ahead and try things out! You can always adjust things and make them different/better as you go :)
Think of what purpose it is going to serve. Are you going to mainly use it for spellwork? Is it going to be a safety retreat? It has to be practical for whatever your goals are. Should it have lines of shelves for books and magical tools? A large table for mixing up herbs/energies? A number of seats for guests you are going to invite? An extra door that would take you out into the astral planes?
Sketch a layout. Yes, take a pencil and a sheet of paper and just plan out your space. Do you want that river to pass through the middle of the room? Behind the building? Do you want that huge boulder to be in the middle of the clearing where you can set up your mind-space altar? Think of how it would be most comfortable and appealing. Include some leisure areas, a pile of pillows, a pile of soft autumn leaves, a soft floating cloud you can rest on - it’s always nice to have that :) I would discourage from going into greater detail on your furnishings at this point - you want to go gradually. Plan for a door through which you will enter.
Think of the door and safety reinforcements. I would suggest that your door have some sort of authentication mechanism to check that it is, in fact, YOU who is trying to come in. The best way is probably to include something that would read in your energy signature - while it is possible to fake that, it is hard. And in the majority of cases, there isn’t going to be many beings out there who’d go through much trouble to break in.
Pick your technique for actually GOING there. I should probably make this a bigger point, but.. There are many ways to travel and there are many degrees of depths to it. In other words, depending on what you like, you can go into a deep meditative state and go full-in. This way, your experiences will be intense, you will strongly feel all the sensations. Sometimes there are situations where you might not have enough time or good enough circumstances to go that deep. For such situations, a form of a spiritual bi-location might come in handy, which will make your sensations duller but will enable you to actually do things in physical while you also work in your mind space. (this is my favorite way of handling these things because life circumstances can be a bitch). I am sure duskenpath posted about doing this but I can’t seem to find the post now.
Use the technique and start working on that door! Seriously, if you still haven’t - go check out this post. Use your technique and take yourself to that door. The basic frame should already be there. Examine it and work with it. It helps to touch and feel the material, contemplate the color. Geez just go read that post x)
Work on one thing at a time. I would advise to start gradually. When you go in, focus on one thing at a time. Shape your item. Make the structure strong, then move on to the next item. Work out all the details of the item, feel it, hell - smell it! Those structures are like wine. Older is stronger. After you create a couple of things - let it rest. Exit the space slowly and go on to do your daily business. Let it sit for a day or two, think of what you’ve completed in your space once in a while, keep it hanging in the back of your mind but do not actively go there. Let it gain strength. When you feel like it’s pretty set, go back in. See how it looks, see how it holds up. You might need to revisit your first structures and add some energy in there, reinforce them. To give you an example: I decided I needed a forest. I started working on it, the general sketch, the basic layout of the forest. I let it sit. When I came back, what was more like a sketch became more of a real thing. I did not have to consciously keep them there or make them work - they were rolling on their own.
A warning of foggy vision. When you are setting up the space, you focus on the details and pay much attention to each item. However, I’ve found that for me, being in the mind space - especially during bi-location feels kind of foggy. It is mostly a problem of focus, since I am working in two places at once. It feels like I should be wearing glasses but I don’t have them on. The details of the objects are gone unless I specifically work with the particular object. Even then sometimes it is cloudy. And you know what? That does not stop me from getting things done in the space. It might slow me down. But it is perfectly fine. For me that is a fair trade-off. I either go there without the really deep submersion, and everything is foggy, OR I don’t go at all. So that’s just something to keep in mind too
Sigils as a structure reinforcement and a gateway. If you feel like giving your space and structure an extra boost, you can make a sigil to represent the space and the changes you made to it. I know, usually the tutorials say to work with words. Apply the same approach to the little layout plan you sketched before. Take the basic shapes you used for your tables, chairs and other itmes and combine them into a sigil. Make changes until you feel that the sigil is a good representation. That same sigil can be used as a point of focus if you have trouble reaching your mental space. However, I would suggest keeping that sigil very and very private. You wouldn’t want to let anyone know your bank account password, neither would you want to let anyone have your apartment keys :)
A bit more on what you can do
You can do witchy business right there. You can cast spells from your mind space. You can set up your altars and shrines there if you have to keep your work/worship hidden. You can also do shadow work by accessing your subconscious more directly (if anyone is interested I will write a post about shadow spaces). You can brew tea and enjoy quiet evenings near a fireplace. You can use your space as a station to create servitors and experiment with energy structures. There are so so many possibilities!
If you have anything to add or questions to ask, my ask box is open and I’d be happy to discuss/help out! :)
