J. Cole Talks About $1 Million S.W.A.T. Raid On His House - The Full Story

On March 18, 2016 a S.W.A.T. team raided raided a house that J. Cole was renting in North Carolina.

It acts as a studio and safe haven for the Dreamville artists and producers, which they refer to as the “Sheltuh.” Dreamville’s Elite revealed in an interview with Complex that a good portion of J. Cole’s  now Platinum Certified “4 Your Eyez Only” album was recorded in the house’s basement studio.

The numbers are in for Kendrick Lamar’s new album “DAMN.,” but what does Drake have to say about it?

Kendrick Lamar’s fourth studio album “Damn.” surpassed Drake’s “More Life” in album sales by bearly 100,000 sales. “Damn.” sold 603,000 total units in its first week, while “More Life” only sold 505,000, according to Billboard.  It broke streaming records by having the second-largest streaming week for an album with 227,000 streaming equivalent albums (SEA), Drake’s “More Life” having the first with 257,000 SEA.

“Damn.” is Kendrick Lamar’s  third No. 1 album, “untitled. unmastered” and “To Pimp a Butterfly” being the first two, selling 178,000 and 324,000 respectively in their first weeks. It has the highest first week album sales since Drake’s “Views” sold 1.04 million copies and is expected to sale another 200,000 in its second week.

After having a week to disect the album, the world has began to point out bars that may be aimed at Drake, but Drake doesn’t appear to be sour about the situation. He dropped by Elliot Wilson’s, Tidal’s editorial director, Instgram post to show his approval of Kendrick’s success and even liked leadwaymusic’s comment that offered that a possible follow-up to DJ Khalid’s Justin Bieber, Chance The Rapper, Migos, and Lil Wayne collaboration could be a Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J. Cole team up.
