i just finished chapter four of chaos theory (they one where optimus and megatron fuck talk out their feelings. and my god. that has to be the best fucking chapter i have read BY FAR. everything about it like they both despise each other but they’re obsessed. they want the same things but each have vastly different ways of achieving it. they cant live without each other and i know that’s a common theme across continuities but in this chapter it just feels so much more real. i love this

Was doing a live reading/recording of Chaos Theory for my voice class and @icedamage said that Megatron's whole monologue was him at the drive-thru in Wendy's. Couldn't rest until I recreated this image.

the fact that we are pulling from the fanfics now like this really cements how terminally windsless this fandom is.

anyway brienne is supposed to be roughly the same height as robert (perceived to be 6’5-6 by ned), so this straight up cannot be true 😭 unless you do some mental gymnastics that will require us to bump up everyone’s heights even more

Something I really really love about the Witcher books is how a lot of the story is about taking back agency over your own body. I don't think we talk about this enough ( I hope Netflix will show that a little more too)

Both Yen and Geralt have had horrible stuff done to them. Geralt's transformation might have been more physically extreme but both have been changed without their consent, knowledge and regards for their well being or mental health. And we meet them on the other end of those changes. (And of course we see more things done to them against their will or consent or with consent given under some form of duress).

We get to see Ciri at the beginning of all that. The entire plot is about how lots of people want to use her for her blood and genes with no regards for what she wants. She has to make sacrifices and changes in order to survive. A lot of the story is about how Yen and Geralt are trying to protect her (sometimes failing) from people who would use her body.

Even secondary characters like Milva share a bit of that story as well.

I think it's a really important part of the story, probably a lot more important than the monsters side. The books are focused on finding your family and taking back control over yourself, your body and your life and I think that's an interesting topic to explore

I had a crazy week, I am tired AF and I only got back to drawing a few days ago. I am currently working on the two traditional art commissions (I still have a slot if anyone is interested btw) and I also continue drawing small sketches to cheer myself up. Here comes the book!Witcher characters: colored sketch of Yen, Geralt (I finally was able to capture how I envisioned him while reading the books, not a sexy superman but a middle aged homeless man tired of this shit), Ciri in her Falka attair (but with the scar and makeup she had post her Rats era, lol, I messed everything up) and Triss. The Witcher show could have been good. It could literally have been so so good. One of the best fantasy book adaptations out there. If you even care.

Currently re-reading Time of Contempt and this is such a Geralt pookie moment 🥹
