headcanon: in DnD & similar settings, the reason clerics have limited spell slots is not bc their deity stops listening to them after a certain number of requests, but bc there's only so much contact with divinity that any mortal can withstand

the higher-level the cleric, the longer they've been in contact with the divine, and the more they can interact with that divine before it takes too much of a toll to continue... but it still takes its toll

seeing how far both my art & my ttrpg character have come got me emotional this fine tuesday afternoon. this is sort of a "how it started, how it ended" kinda thing, given that his original campaign ended earlier this month, EXCEPT that my baby boy is getting a brand new spin-off campaign and i am vibrating with the intensity of three suns at the level of excitement i feel about it <3

I have played a sorcerer like this! while I didn’t think of it like ‘they’re channeling their magic through endurance and that should mean their constitution is high’, I thought of it like ‘they’re rejecting their magic and that’s physically wrecking their body, so it makes sense for them to have a low constitution’. the CON still played a major part of her character though
