When I was a wee little thing, I got this purple and green ugly plastic rabbit toy at a birthday party. I think it was supposed to make noises and stuff, but my parents removed the batteries. However, that is beside the point. The ears of this rabbit would rotate, but never face each other, and it didn’t sit well with me, since I saw the ears of this thing as sentient or something. One was trying to reach out to the other, who didn’t even return the gesture, and then the roles reversed. This isn’t a deep metaphor for anything, it was just upsetting.
