you’re alive? | Tara Chambler x Fem!Reader
summary: you help Tyreese take care of Judith while Carol saves everyone from Terminus. when she comes back with everyone, a certain ex girlfriend is with them. one you hadn’t seen in years.
warnings: mentions of basically getting impaled (?)
genre: exes to loversss
A/N: it’s midnight and this idea came to me and now i have to write it bc i won’t sleep until i do.
Tumblr media
you pushed the man back, watch as he fell into the sharp pike. it drove through the center of him and he cried out. rage filled you, as you all heard the explosions at Terminus go off, he tried to hurt Judith.
Tyreese luckily acted just as fast as you and he was able to take her away while you handled him.
after one quick stab to his head to ensure he was dead, you stumbled back, wiping your head with the back of your hand. he had really put up a tough fight, you almost didn’t think you could beat him.
Tyreese came out of the abandoned shack, holding Judith close against him. “he’s dead.” you told him.
“are you okay?” he asked, “did he hurt you anywhere?” there were a few prominent bruises on your face, but you assumed he couldn’t tell from where he was standing.
you shrugged, “a few punches to the face but it’s nothing i can’t handle. i’m okay.” you said. “is Judith okay?”
“she is.” he reassured, “i got her to calm down. gave her some more food.” you nodded, “good.”
“i just hope Carol’s okay. and everyone else.” you mumbled. you looked up, seeing the dark smoke fill the sky. you didn’t know who was alive or dead, you just knew they were in danger and needed help.
“come inside.” Tyreese said, nodding his head towards the door. you followed him in, sitting down on the floor against the wall.
you pulled your bag towards you, digging through it to find any type of drink or food. at the bottom, there was an almost empty water bottle. you drank the rest of it, not really caring in that moment.
after a while of silence, you finally heard distant voices. you both shot up, running outside. you could see the top of multiple heads, but couldn’t quite distinguish who all of them were yet.
Rick and Carl came into view, and that alone made you let out a sigh of relief. then Maggie and Glenn, and Daryl. there was some others you couldn’t recognize as well.
when they came closer and Rick saw Tyreese holding Judith, he bolted in your direction, Carl followed immediately. Tyreese placed Judith in Rick’s arms, and you watch as he reunited with his family.
it brought a smile to your face. you all tried to so hard to keep Judith alive for him, and it all worked out in the end.
when you turned to face Glenn, another woman you didn’t notice before walked out from behind him. you froze.
“Tara?” you asked, voice full of disbelief. she turned to you, eyes widening ever so slightly. she blinked, not fully processing this. “oh- my god. Y/N…” she choked out. “you’re alive?” you asked again, voice cracking.
“you know her?” Glenn asked you. you opened your mouth but your words froze, there was a part of your life no one knew about, one you tried your hardest to hide.
you nodded and swallowed the knot in your throat. “we uh… she’s- we dated. she’s my ex.. girlfriend.” you finally said, looking down at the dirt to avoid everyone’s eyes.
for a minute, everyone was quiet. your heart raced, thinking you made a mistake by letting them find out you liked girls.
“you never.. you never told us about you.. y’know.” Glenn said after that long minute. you shrugged, “didn’t think it was important.”
“i uh… i hate to interrupt this but um,” Rick coughed. “we should find a place to rest. it’ll be dark soon.” everyone agreed, and everyone started to follow him as he went in no particular direction.
Tara stood next to you as you walked, but neither of you spoke a word. you felt tense, the silence was palpable. you didn’t know what to say or do.
how are you even supposed to react to finding out your ex girlfriend survived this horrid apocalypse?
ever since you broke up, you tried to convince yourself you still didn’t have feeling for her anymore. it was supposed to be a mutual decision, but you never wanted to stop loving her.
“we’ll stop here.” Rick announced. everyone made themselves comfortable against a tree, hoping to get a bit of rest. you sat against a tree away from everyone else, wanting to sort out your thoughts. there was too much to process.
the leaves rustled next to you, causing you to jump a little. “it’s just me.” Tara said. you watched as she sat down next to you. “no you’re fine. i just… i still can’t believe you’re alive.” you admitted to her.
“yeah it’s uh.. been a while since we last saw each other.” she said quietly. the last time you saw each other was the day you broke up. you tried not to think about it.
“how do you know Glenn?” she asked you. “we met at the beginning of all this. us and some others had a camp by the quarry. how do you know Glenn?”
“i’m not sure you’ll like the truth.” she said hesitantly. “tell me.” you insisted. “i was with the guy that blew up the prison,” she said.
you backed up a bit from her, “you what?” she looked at you with regret, “please- just let me explain. i didn’t want to do what he did. i don’t even know why he did it. i- i never wanted to be a part of it. as he and the others attacked, i hid. and afterwards i found Glenn. i felt so guilty for being with that man, so i helped him look for his wife.”
you looked at her with skepticism, not knowing if you should believe her or not. a big part of you wanted to, you trusted her with your life at one point in your life. “please believe me.” she whispered.
“okay.” you immediately said back. “i believe you. you- you saved Glenn, that’s all that matters.”
“thank you.” she said. you turned your whole body towards her, without really thinking about it, you leaned forward and pulled her in a hug.
your hands gripped the fabric of her shirt. for a brief moment, all you felt was bliss. you remembered her hugs like they were from yesterday. your body relaxed the second she held you.
“i missed you.” you admitted quietly, not pulling away from the hug yet. “i never got over you, Tara.”
you weren’t sure if there would ever be a time to say this to her again. all of this could disappear within minutes.
she was silent. her mind drifted to the girl she met not too long ago. they hadn’t even gone out for a day before she decided she wanted in on the Governor’s plan. that was the breaking point for her.
but she was nothing compared to you.
“i missed you too.” she said. you pulled away from the hug. your faces were only centimeters away from each other and your eyes trailed down from her eyes to her lips.
slowly, you both leaned in until you met in the middle. your lips connected with ease. like they were always made for each other. you had forgotten how much you loved kissing her. you cupped her face, holding her in place.
memories started to flood back in your mind. days where you would sneak away from your group of friends to do this very thing. sleepovers every weekend while telling your parents you were just friends.
“i missed this.” you breathed against her lips, she nodded but only kissed you harder.
Tara pulled away, leaning her head against yours. “i’m never letting you go. we made a mistake breaking up.”
“big mistake.” you laughed.

warnings: obsessive compulsive themes (washing hands, only in the first portion) and themes of grief/ depression

Lukewarm water ran over your hands as you scrubbed and scrubbed. Just needing to feel your hands clean. The night had been long, basically restless. You couldn’t shake the memory of the previous night.
A herd had gotten into Alexandria, somehow getting through the walls and gate. Even with everyone trying to fight it off as best they could, some didn’t make it. Including your sister, her getting bit in the process of fighting. Amputation wasn’t an option, she was doomed. Most of what had happened felt like a blur but also so clear. It almost wasn’t real in your mind. But the silence in your shared home was proof of the harsh reality you had to face.
All you saw when looking at your hands was her blood, trying to keep her from bleeding out, and eventually from not letting her turn. It was like your hands were permanently stained with her blood, nothing you could do could get rid of it.
When the pain of the scrubbing set in, you had a hard stop. Instantly pulling away from the water and turning it off. Drying off your hands, you felt nothing but numb. Just staring off and mindlessly finishing up at the sink.
Begrudgingly you had made your way to your bedroom, walking past all the memories that were scattered around the house. All happy memories tainted with the fact she was gone, forever. You couldn’t even look at her bedroom door without tears threatening to fall. Everything had just started to become too much.
Once reaching your room, you’d just laid there, not moving. Just not wanting to think.
Time ticked away and away. The morning sun eventually peeking through the curtains in your small room. It was blinding after getting used to the darkness, but also your alarm to get up and ready.
The Alexandrians had planned a small service for the lives lost in the herd. Part of you didn’t want to even go, but you had to. For her, at least. Getting ready and leaving felt like a massive chore. Looking at yourself in the mirror you could see it on your face the lack of sleep was obvious. You were upset at how obvious the grief was, but there was nothing you could do. After deeming yourself as presentable as you can get, you headed out toward the church.
Walking there felt heavy, each step adding more and more weight onto you. When you reached the church, a few people were already there. Keeping your distance, you stood away from all the groups, not wanting to hear what they had to say.
It was always the same old shit, the same thing you would hear in the old world. The basic “they’re in a happier place” or “they wouldn’t want you to be sad” being said without a single ounce of understanding. Just saying something to say something. You didn’t want to hear it, especially when it would make your anger and sadness worse.
As more people kept filing in, you could feel the glares and stares from the community. Shortly after more people showed up, Gabriel had started the makeshift service. It was nice, something sort of casual but personal. Gabriel opened the floor to everyone; families and friends spoke about those that passed. But you didn’t say anything, and you probably should’ve. You could feel the judgmental glares when you didn’t speak, but everything in your body made you stay there. Stay quiet.
The service was over soon enough, everyone leaving to do their respective work and chores. As soon as you could get out, you could. As you made the beeline to your home, the sound of heavy boots became louder, someone was running up behind you. Immediately looking behind you, all you were met with was Tara slowing down as she caught up with you. With a puzzled look on your face, you just kept walking, letting her walk with you.
The walk was hushed but it was oddly comforting in a way. You could tell she wanted to say something, it was obvious on her face. But she was quiet, seemingly leaving it up to you if you wanted to talk to her or not.
Finally reaching your home, you started to climb the short stairs before Tara reached out to grab your wrist. Shooting a look back, you softly pulled away and paused on the stairs. Tara became visibly panicked and started to speak, “Sorry I didn’t mean to grab you like that, just wanted to talk.” Nodding silently, you looked at her with crossed arms, waiting for her to continue.
Nodding back, Tara reached into her jacket pocket and pulled out small candies. Holding them in her hand she held them out to you, offering them up. “Found them in the pantry, figured sweet treats aways help,” she smiled softly at you. Looking at her and looking at the candies, you took them. “Thanks, appreciate it,” giving a weak smile back, you turned to leave. But she stopped you again.
“Also wanted to say, I know what it's like, losing a sister you know. Losing sister like that,” Tara then stopped talking, closing her eyes and shaking her head. “Sorry, I just wanted to let you know I understand your pain. I’m here if you want to talk about it.” Your glance softened and tears threatened to spill as she opened up to you. And offered help, something you really weren’t expecting.
“Thank you, means a lot Tara. I’ll keep that in mind,” Tara smiled at you, and probably to herself. “No problem,” she put up her fist for a fist bump before instantly putting it down. She apologized hastily thinking she did something wrong, but you shook your head laughing lightly. Grabbing her arm, you put the fist back up and bumped it. “Seals the deal,” you said, giving her another weak smile as you separated and walked into your home. At last, you were in your home, and finally all the previous emotions came back. Setting the candy Tara gave you into a small bowl, you immediately retreated back into your bedroom. Just letting the bed consume you and trap you there.
The upcoming days had become foggy, not knowing what time it was or what was going on within Alexandria. You hadn’t left the house in a few days; you knew it was self-destructive. You knew it was getting bad, but nothing could really make you leave. Even if you wanted to. Everything would’ve just been too overwhelming and scary, also just getting out of bed seemed like too much work.
One night everything got particularly rough, all the memories with your sister coming back. All the good times you missed so much playing through your head, only to be interrupted with the memory of burying her. Trying to think of something to do, you tried washing the dishes that had been piling up in the sink.
As you scrubbed the dishes you sobbed, you just wanted to forget anything ever happened. The water was lukewarm once more, the scrubbing remaining consistent. You were there for a while before you heard a soft but quick knock at your door. Coming back to reality, you dried your hands off and stuffed them in your pocket. Trying to create a confident aura around you.
Opening the door slowly, you peaked out only to be met with Tara. Her worried expression only grew more when she saw how bloodshot your eyes were. You weren’t even sure how long you had been crying yourself, but you knew it was probably a long time. Tara took in a quick breath and started to speak, “haven’t seen you in a few days, I was getting worried.” Inhaling deeply, you shrugged, hands still stuffed in your pocket. You refused to make eye contact, embarrassed you had gotten to his point.
Glancing at Tara, she had a soft look on her face. Just purely looking worried. Her hand was fiddling with the zipper of her jacket as she prepared to speak again. “Can I keep you company? I want to make sure you’re okay,” you were reluctant at first. Not quite sure about it, but this could be a good start to healing. You agreed to let her in and walked back into your home, her just following behind.
Gesturing your couch, you sat down with her right beside you. Tara sat comfortably while you curled into yourself just staring off. It wasn’t long before the tears had started again. Tara just took you into her arms and you instantly latched onto her. Holding onto her for dear life, like if you were to let go, she would disappear. After separating from her she brought her sleeve up to your face and wiped your eyes.
Once you calmed down enough, she started to speak to you softly. “You don’t have to talk about it, and I won’t force you too. But I will be here if you ever want to talk. It will get better, just takes time.” Her soft hand held your face as you looked into her eyes. You gave her a weak nod. Softly smiling, she brought your head down to give you a soft kiss on the forehead.
Hiding your face in her neck, she just held you there. Her hands were rubbing soft circles into your back, comforting you. Tara took in a breath, “I can stay here all night if you want me too.” Not wanting to detach from her, you just nodded ‘yes’ into her neck. A soft laugh left her lips, and she held you tighter. “Then I’ll stay.”

pairing - tara chambler x fem!reader
tags - slight angst to fluff
summary - you find it difficult to love tara in public as much as you in secret and she notices immediately
word count - 1,296
A/N - woah guys my first fic...
the first thing tara thinks about when she wakes up is you. she practically worships you and you let her, most of the time.
it was the first sunny day of the year and you just had to take the opportunity to put on a tank top on instead of a t-shirt.
you always woke up earlier than tara so when she blinked her eyes open to see you in something that wasn't usual for you, she couldn't help but smile. "morning pretty" she said, her voice raspy and jumping an octave as she sat herself up.
you spin around dramatically right before walking up to tara's side of the bed and leaning in to kiss her. "mornin'." tara let out a soft hum into the kiss, bringing your head closer to hers with her hand.
you loved kissing her. it would be tragic if you didn't. but for some reason you couldn't bring yourself to kiss her in public. you couldn't get rid of that stupid nagging thought 'everyone's looking.'
so when the time came to be around tara and actually be her girlfriend around everyone else, you panicked. every. time.
you stood up straight and began walking back over to your dresser, getting out a necklace and starting to latch it as you spoke.
"maggie said she needed help with some gardening today. did you want to join us after you actually wake up?" tara lets out a soft groan, sinking into her pillow a bit more.
"that sounds like such a good time...if i liked the smell of dirt and the hot ass weather." you couldn't help but chuckle softly at her comment. everything she did was just perfect for you. even when you didn't look at her just the sound of her voice made all your problems float away for a split second and many after.
"alright alright. last time i try to spend time outside with you." you joke back while walking back over to the bed and slipping on a pair of worn-out shoes.
Tumblr media
hours passed by that you were away from tara. she had spent most of the day helping train a group of kids.
you were in the middle of discussing some inventory checkups with olivia right in front of her house. a couple of others had been walking around the community, no one specifically focused on you unless you were talking to them. but all you felt were eyes on you.
you walked away from olivia and bumped into daryl, dropping the few cans of food in your hands. "shit" you mutter.
daryl grumbled out some indistinctive complaint as you knelt to pick up the dropped items. your eyes lifted up a little when you saw another hand grabbing some of the cans up and were met with tara's sweet brown eyes.
"hi there" you smiled softly and stood up. "hi" she said in response, matching your tone while also handing you the cans she helped pick up.
a moment of silence fell over the both of you. not awkward silence but a romantic silence as you both stared into each other's eyes.
"headed back home?" tara broke the silence, tilting her head in the direction of your house. you nod gently while speaking. "just to drop some stuff off..."
your voice almost trailed off once tara leaned in to press a soft peck on your lips, her hands gently holding onto the stack of cans in your hands to make sure they didn't fall.
you let out a soft gasp beneath her lips before she pulled away slowly, a wide smile on her face. the two of you began walking towards your house.
"what was that for?" your voice came off amused.
"just wanted to kiss you" she claimed bluntly with a hint of teasing in both her voice and grin. you gave her a soft nod in response and continued walking to your house.
both of you reached the porch and before tara opened the door her eyes shot back to you with a flicker of playfulness in them. you tilt your head in confusion.
"why are you giving me that look...." you mutter out, earning a smile from tara.
"you're just... pretty" she breathed out, stepping a little closer to you. all you could manage to do was smile widely before she pressed her lips to yours.
her hands wandered to your waist and pulled your body closer to hers from below. small giggles were exchanged between the kiss along with the feeling of each other's lips curving into smiles.
it was like your head went completely blank when she kissed you. nothing running through your brain when her soft lips melted into yours.
your head tilted a little, letting her nose fit between your nose and your under-eye like a puzzle piece. her hands were still running up your back while yours stayed holding onto the cans of food right in front of you. this made it a bit more awkward for you two but it didn't matter, you were almost in a trance cast by her lips.
that trance quickly wore off when two cans clattered onto the wooden porch. both of your lips tore apart at the sudden noise.
"shit!" you almost hopped back at the sound but quickly began laughing when tara did. god, her laugh.
your brain was still a bit fuzzy as you glanced around. that's when all the anxiety and thoughts and not-empty-brain-like things came back.
the second you looked to the side it felt like everyone who walked by was staring at you and tara. of course they weren't but it's like your brain was telling you that they wanted to give a judgmental look. without thinking, you picked up the two cans and walked inside your guy's house. the sudden switch in the air caused her to rush in behind you. she could see the fear on your face. behind your eyes. she read you a little too well.
"hey hey what's up? what was that?" her hands reach to hold your shoulders while you tried to pace around.
"n-nothing it's nothing i'm fine i'm good" you quickly reply, panic laced into your words while you paced back and forth.
"you're clearly not fine or good, y/n what's wrong?" she stopped you from pacing, one hand on your waist and the other on your shoulder. your breath was a little shaky as you slowly calmed down.
"do you...do you ever feel like everyone's watching us? because it feels like everyone's watching us." your voice almost trails off. tara just stared at you with a confused expression on her face. babe...what?" she questioned, a genuine bit of offense coming through her voice.
"what like everyone's judging us or something?" you nod. "no. i don't...wh-why do you?" your head went a bit foggy at her question. at the entire situation actually. you nodded slowly, swallowing a hard lump in your throat.
she held your waist a bit tighter, a silent way of giving you reassurance. "no one is judging you or me y/n..." her voice was soft and soothing but still slightly humorous.
"even if they were, why would it matter?" she breathed out into a short laugh. one of her hands now rested on your cheek.
"i know...i'm sorry i'm sorry i shouldn't have even worried about it-" you almost started to ramble on an apology but tara cut you off.
"your kidding right? don't be sorry" she pulled you into her body with her arms crossed over your back tightly.
her nose was buried in your hair as the two of you embraced.
tara pulled away for a second to just look at you, taking in your features. she seemed to do that a lot

Please don't ignore my story💔🇵🇸
To our brothers, sisters, and loved ones, condolences, I write these words to you, and I am full of hope in your humanity and assistance. Because I am Mahmoud Ashour from Rafah, I spent my whole life working to build a decent life for me and my family, but after the occupation issued the eviction of the entire city of Rafah, we had no shelter and our lives were destroyed. Into danger I will run
Tumblr media
pairing: Maria Hill x reader
...
Trickles of moonlight brush past winding branches and delicate leaves as it reaches for the ground below. A distant alarm blares flashing red, shattering the silence of the night.
Something happened, someone’s missing.
Maria doesn’t have much time.
She grinds her teeth as she pushes through the underbrush, her boots digging into the ground with each step and her shoulder straining under the weight of dragging you half conscious with her.
There is no time to catch her breath, no time to remember the exact path she took to reach the prison. Time is against her, it’s racing at her back with biting teeth.
The sound of barking dogs makes her groan in annoyance, of course they would let those canines out. It’s time for a chase.
This is not how she wanted the day to go. Her schedule was packed as it was, she didn’t need you getting kidnapped and in need of saving to cram its way into her calendar.
She’s going to ring Bishop’s neck when she sees him again.
As she pushes past a marked tree, grabbing the ribbon she used, the sudden weight of your body as your legs give out on you makes her stumble.
“Hey, hey come on,” Maria looks at you, pauses for just a moment. The heavy sounds of your ragged breaths tells of the pain you’re in, it took hours to find you. She doesn’t know the extent of your injuries, at this moment she has no clue. All she can do is get you out of here as soon as possible.
“We’re almost there,” She glances behind you with narrowed eyes, the forest is black, the trees even darker. She can’t see past your back, she doesn’t know how close those dogs and rifles are.
With a slight shake of her hand, she reaches out, threads her fingers through sweaty hair and watches you with vigilance. She needs to get you moving, she needs to reach the clearing. She has a jeep waiting.
“Maria…” Her name from your lips makes her frown, she tightens her hold on your shoulder just enough to keep you upright.
“I’m here, I’m right here.” She whispers her reassurance as reaches for the gun at her hip, the dogs are getting closer.
This isn’t the time to panic, this is honestly the worst time to panic but the moment she starts to feel you go limp, her thoughts are a train wreck.
“No, no, no, no, I need you to keep your eyes open for me.” She’s sloppy, her panic making her movements rushed as she brushes her hand over your jaw, pats your cheek with urgency. The weight of your head in her hands makes her feel sick.
The soft sound of a groan, the light brush of fingers at her waist, makes it easier to breathe. She gives you one more second. To breathe, to chase the pain away and tighten your grip on her before she moves.
With a slow shift of her weight, Maria pushes forwards with a single goal in mind. Reach the clearing.
Once she gets there, once she can get you into the jeep and starts driving like hell itself is chasing her, then she can call Clint. She can prepare for the flight back to New York.
“We’re almost there.” Maria whispers under her breath. A reassurance for the both of you as her eyes scan the blackness ahead for any sign of hanging ribbon from branches.
It wasn’t the best choice to use when scouting the outer area of the prison but there wasn’t time to think properly, it was a trick she learned years ago that was easiest to use when the cell towers were out of the picture.
The snarling growls and howls of the dogs are rushing through the forest with a speed she despises. Why was it always dogs?
It doesn’t take as long as she thought to find the path, those branches looking familiar under the moonlight. The anticipation of finally seeing the path out of this god damn place urges her fast. The soft sound of pain from you as she all but drags you to the jeep makes her heart hurt. But she’s so close.
She’s extra gentle with you as she buckles you into the passenger seat as a silent apology, her hand is itching to go back to her gun, her shoulders are tight with tension. The sounds are getting louder, she can now hear shouting beneath the dogs.
The fact that she all but runs to the driver’s side, slams the door almost too loud and jams the keys into the ignition is the moves of a rookie but there is no time.
Dirt and grass are kicked up by the wheels as she slams on the gas, eyes bouncing from the road ahead and the one behind, if they break through the trees she wants to know.
It wouldn’t help her now, to know exactly how close they were but her mind wants the knowledge, it would help distract her from the blood on her hands, the blood in her clothes.
The ride to the safe house feels like an eternity, one hand on the wheel and one holding your own. She talks the entire way, tries to get you to respond. She doesn’t even ask for intel, she doesn't ask why.
No, her questions are the most random. Her brain is not letting her thoughts move along in an order.
What’s your favorite color? Blue
Name a city you’ve always wanted to go to? Tecoma
Do you remember what you had for breakfast? Pancakes
Who is your best friend? Natasha
It would be hilarious almost, if Clint knew. If this situation was anything else he’d just tease her about playing 50 questions.
She almost wishes this was a different situation, she wishes she was home. A movie in the background as she makes dinner with you, soft laughter and pointless jabs filling the kitchen like warm air.
The soft squeeze of your fingers on her hold pulls her away from the dream, the dark road feels endless with how the moon now hides behind a group of clouds. But the moment she sees the building, she knows that it won’t take long now. The turns are a little tricky and she can’t believe that Tony was the one to even make a safe house here on this abandoned road, the plain house sitting between two farmer’s fields of tall standing wheat.
It looks so normal she can see his reasoning, it’s like a bystander. Fading into the background, so bland that no attention should be wasted on it. Okay, she’ll give Tony this one point. She still doesn’t like him though.
“Easy.” Maria lets her voice lower to a whisper, her hold on you is gentle yet steady as she helps you up the front steps of the house. The porch light flickers and she turns to look behind her like it’s a reflex. There is no one, the air is quiet and the jeep is parked against the house enough that anyone would have to come close to see it.
“I’m okay.” The response falls from your lips before almost collapsing against the front door, her eyes scan you as she brushes her fingers over the stained fabric at your ribs, she knows there are a few that are broken, knows that it must be hell trying to breathe. When you look at her, eyes glassy and skin pale she has to wrestle down the urge to carry you through the door.
The moment she finds the keys, pushing the door open and turning back to you, she has to fight the smile when you give her a thumbs up and reach out for her.
“I’m surprised you can still stand.” She wonders, kicks the door shut and flicks on the light. The couch isn’t far, facing away from the door at the empty fireplace.
She helps you over to sit down with slow steps. It takes only a moment for her to turn and find the lamp that sits next to the empty loveseat, she turns it on before walking back over to the light switch and turning that off. She makes sure the curtains are completely shut, peeking out to see nothing but darkness.
The room is bathed in a soft light that she knows won’t make your head hurt worse, besides she’d rather it look like no one’s home if someone decides to drive by.
“Someone wouldn’t let me pass out.” You wince, wrapping your arm around your waist and giving her a look that at any other time would be considered a glare.
It takes a few reassuring words before she gives in and heads to the kitchen. She doesn’t go for the phone sitting on the counter straight away, no that can wait. Right now she needs to check you.
The water is warm as it falls from the faucet, soaking the rag in her hands. She ignores that her hands are shaking, shakes her head and forces out a breath that does nothing to ease her frustration, her worry.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Your team wasn’t supposed to leave you behind.
Stealing those files was the only objective, why on earth was there an explosion. What the hell happened?
Maria pinches her brow in frustration before releasing a sigh, she needs to focus on you. She turns the water off, drops the rag and brags the now full bowl of water before she heads back into the living room.
The sight of you, leaning back against the couch, face turned to the ceiling with a clear look of discomfort on your face doesn’t ease the stress that tightens her muscles. You look a mess, you look utterly exhausted.
As she places the bowl down on the coffee table that sits in front of the couch, sits next to you, the smile you give her makes nothing better but she returns it anyway. “I’m using up our vacation days after this. No way am I letting you out of my sight anytime soon.”
When you shift, position yourself to look at her, she gives you a warning glare. She reaches for your unoccupied hand, running the soaked rag over dirk and blood covered skin. You let her work in quiet, eyes trained on her hands, skin warm from the water.
“What would we do?” Your question doesn’t quite startle her, but her touch falters. It takes but a moment to continue with her task, scooting closer as she runs the rag up your arm. Maria doesn’t answer right away, she lets her hands work as her mind thinks.
There’s a deep cut on your bicep, reaching up under your sleeve, she doesn’t want to think about who did that to you so she answers. “We could do a movie marathon,” Once the rag is rinsed, the bowl of water tinted an ugly color she continues, “I know you still wanted to finish that show. The one with the dragons?”
“Game of thrones.” You remind her gently as she almost glares at that one cut, wondering why she completely forgot about the first aid kit. You’re going to need stitches.
“I’ll even buy the movie theater popcorn you love so much.” She adds, smiles apologetically when she motions to your other arm. “Next one, please.”
The pout you give her before carefully pulling your arm away from your ribs makes her throat feel tight. Once you switch arms, the now clean on holding your ribs, you rest your hand in her own. “Do you promise? I know you don’t really like it.”
It’s not that she doesn’t like it, more like she rather not have any, which is why you always get her bag of popcorn when there is time to go to the movies. The blood under your nails makes her grind her teeth, a flicker of pride warms her chest anyway. You fought back, even when you didn’t know when the rescue team would come.
As she pushes the rag over your scraped knuckles she looks up, you’re watching her with tired eyes, head tilted slightly enough to cause your hair to fall over your shoulders, push to cover your ears. She wonders if your comms were smashed by your attacker. “I promise.”
The cut that nicks your eyebrow makes her reach out, she leans closer and brushes a finger right next to the cut, the stain of dried blood smears across your forehead. You don’t look away from her as she brings the rag up to wash away the blood, your fingers dig into her thigh when she then runs the rag over the cut.
“Still okay?” Maria asks, pulls back to look at you, eyes dancing over your face in concern.
“I think a shower would make this easier.” Your tease is subtle, if it wasn’t for the slight smirk you send her way she wouldn't have even noticed. She runs her rag covered hand over your cheek, shakes her head and pulls back.
“I think a bath would do you more good.” She says in response, leaning over to wring the rag out over the bowl. She also thinks if you take a shower you might trip and hit your head, again.
As she finishes washing your arm, her free hand brushing over your skin with a gentleness that could only qualify the touch as a caress, her eyes travel to the kitchen, the silent phone on the counter still looking at her. “I need to call Clint.”
She needs to do a lot of things but she doesn’t want to get up. She doesn’t want to leave your side, not yet. When she turns back to you, the look in your eyes makes her glance away. Maria doesn’t want to worry about Clint, about what's going to happen once the two of you reach the base. How angry she’s going to be when she sees your team, your first in command, freaking John Bishop.
“How about,” The touch of your fingers on her jaw, dancing up to brush against the back of her ear which reminds her that her hair has fallen from her ponytail. She closes her eyes when your thumb runs over her cheek and she turns to look back at you, expression almost pleading.
“Oh Maria.” The words you were going to say die on your tongue and when you move to reach out for her, the sting of broken ribs a second thought, she closes the distance.
Her arms wrap around you with the familiarity of many hugs before, her grip holds no strength as she buries her face against your shoulder. You smell like gunpowder, sweat, and blood but she doesn’t care.
You’re here, you’re alive.
“I thought I lost you.” Her confession is a whisper buried in the fabric of your shirt, her eyes sting and she can’t believe she’s going to cry.
The way you fist your hands into her shirt, tugging her closer despite the ache of your muscles makes this entire rescue operation worth it. She owes Clint a week's worth of free pizza for his help, she doesn’t care if he refuses.
“I’m still here. I promise.” The feeling of you breathing under her touch fills her with relief, even if you have cuts and bruises; even with a broken ribs and a sprained ankle you’re still here.
“Do you still want that bath?” She asks once she’s calmed down, the sensation of your fingers brushing through her hair doing a wonder to help. She doesn’t want to let go yet, thankfully she can still have a conversation like this.
The feel of your shoulders sagging, the mumbled yes that tickles her neck causes her to chuckle, her amusement makes her feel lighter. If you really want that bath she can help you. There’s no way she’s going to leave it to chance if you fall asleep. Both of you are filthy anyway. “Okay, okay.”
When you pull away, she cradles your face in her hands. The moment your hands take hold of her wrists she leans forward and brushes her lips against your forehead in a tender kiss. The sound of your soft hum eases the lingering knot in her stomach.
After the bath, after you fall asleep, she swears she’s going to call Clint. He’s probably worried as hell right now but he can wait. Right now she’s going to focus on you, only you. Everything else will wait.

HELLOOO i was wondering if u can make an angst to fluff/comfort request with Sevika x fem!reader.. where like they had an argument and Sevika keeps on saying harsh words to reader and clearly Sevika is stressed because of the whole councilor thing. But instead of reader leaving she just hugs Sevika and then Sevika apologizes. something like that 😭
Tumblr media
HOLD ME TOGETHER
Sevika x f!reader
Synopsis: Ever since Sevika had become a council member, the first one to ever represent Zaun and its struggles, she has been back and worth, exhausted and stressed. And, unfortunately, you got caught inbetween.
Request: Anon 🤍
Tumblr media
Sevika wasn’t one to lose her cool—not often, at least. But tonight, she was a tightly wound spring, and you could see it in the tension of her jaw, the way her cybernetic arm clenched with a faint mechanical whirr. The pressure of her new position on Piltover’s council was getting to her. And you, you were caught in the crossfire.
“You don’t understand!” Sevika snapped, slamming a hand down on the small table between you. The sound echoed in the dim apartment, her tone sharp enough to cut. “You think this is easy? Sitting in a room full of Pilties, pretending like I care about their politics? Like they’ll ever truly accept me?!”
Her words stung, even if you knew they weren’t aimed at you, not really.
“Sevika,” you said softly, trying to calm her, but the storm in her eyes raged on.
“Don’t, don’t try to coddle me right now.” She turned away, pacing like a caged animal. “You wouldn’t get it. You’ve never had to fight like this, to prove yourself over and over just to be tolerated.”
You flinched at her tone, and something inside you twisted painfully. “I’ve been by your side every step of the way, Sevika,” you said, voice trembling. “Don’t you dare act like I don’t know what you’ve gone through.”
She whirled on you, her face a mask of frustration. “Then why do you keep pushing? Why can’t you just leave me alone for one damn second?!”
The words hung heavy in the air, an unspoken apology already in her eyes but too late to stop the damage they’d done.
Your throat tightened, tears threatening to spill, but you didn’t move away. You didn’t argue back. Instead, you stepped forward, closing the distance between you.
Sevika stiffened, her brow furrowing as if she expected you to lash out or yell, but you did neither. Without a word, you wrapped your arms around her.
She froze completely, her breath hitching at the unexpected warmth of your embrace. “What… what are you doing?” she asked, her voice cracking slightly.
“I’m not leaving,” you whispered, your cheek pressed against her broad chest. “I’m not going anywhere, Sevika. Not when you need me.”
Her shoulders sagged, and the fight drained out of her in an instant. She made a choked sound, her human hand hesitating before finally settling on your back.
“I’m sorry,” she rasped, her voice raw. Her cybernetic arm came up too, awkward but gentle as it rested against you. “Shit, I didn’t mean any of that. I’m so damn tired, and I—”
“I know,” you murmured, cutting her off. You pulled back just enough to look up at her, your hands sliding to her face. “I know you didn’t mean it. And I know you’re trying. But you don’t have to do this alone, Sev.”
Her lips pressed together tightly, and you saw the vulnerability she rarely let show. “I don’t know what I’m doing,” she admitted, voice barely above a whisper. “These council meetings, the politics… It’s not who I am. It’s not who I ever wanted to be. And I’m terrified I’m gonna screw it up.”
“You won’t,” you said firmly, your thumbs brushing over her scarred cheek. “You’re strong, Sevika. Stronger than anyone I know. But even the strongest people need someone to lean on.”
She closed her eyes, leaning into your touch as if she could absorb your calm. “You make it sound so easy.”
“It’s not,” you said softly, pressing a kiss to her forehead. “But we’ll figure it out together. You don’t have to do this on your own.”
For a long moment, she just held you, her arms wrapping tightly around you as if she was afraid you’d disappear. Her lips found your temple, soft and lingering, and you felt the tension in her body slowly start to ease.
“Thank you,” she murmured against your hair. “For putting up with me. For staying.”
You smiled, resting your head on her shoulder as she placed another kiss on your head. “Always.”
Silence fell between you too as you stood there, tangled together in the quiet moment. But even with the silence, you both knew that you’d be there for eachother, and Sevika knew she needed that the most.
Tumblr media
A/N: This was hella short. That’s seriously all I have to say because I don’t know why it took me like eight tries to expand it. (I’m sorry ;-;)
