i love this trend youve got going on with the eatd virgil/adder dynamics where they both alternate between being a drama queen and being exasperated at their brother being a drama queen, virgils got the whole "im so uncool lmp probably dont even like me :(" (adder: "theyre literally so visibly in love with you stop being stupid") and also adders "i said something really rude to a mortal they probably wanna kill me now i can never be near them again" (virgil: "mortals dont care that much about rudeness please just apologise"), the common thread connecting them is theyre both idiots (affectionate) about their friends. or maybe just autistic and bad at social norms

its the mom friend anxiety overide except its two stairstep (for fae) brothers who essentially raised each other with little to no adult interference or supervision and they both have it but only for each other. honestly the fact they dont bite MORE people is a glowing reflection on their social skills

polly of course can sense an easy mark like a blood hound and is going to say increasingly infuriating things to him on purpose until he caves and asks her to show him how to hack himself infinite hp in undertale

he also does this to kai, who is equally unflinching at Adders antics

my corn snake too absolutely hates phones, you can be holding him and hes chill and then as soon as you try to take a photo of him hes frantically wiggling away like hes resisting unlawful arrest, never once have i gotten a clear photo of this guy and i am so happy were projecting this onto adder plsksjsj

honestly it probably has something to do with their heat-seeking sense, i know theyre known to 'watch television' so its possible the phone pings as a big bright ball of yummy electromagnetism
