Oh man! The beautiful thing about @ask-spiderpool is that it’s just a little bit crowdsourced, so there are fics by other authors that make it into the realm of canon/semi-canon too - let me sift through that sexy, sexy main tag for a spell.

as for 616 wade, i don’t know, probably DTF any time any place. still nate’s long-term booty call no matter the timeline. 100% covinced they have SOME sort of arrangement with their spouses where, oh, it doesn’t count as cheating because time travel or something like. maybe it’s not me cheating on you. maybe it’s past me. maybe in his time period i’m single. mayb

eventually it gets so convoluted that nobody wants to ask anymore. just let them have this. whatever. who cares. 

BIG into polyamorous nate and wade. huge. so into it. 

(in fact, big into polyamory in general and open communication about past-relationships. none of this jealousy nonsense. human hearts are weird and sometimes people will crawl into your heart and they just won’t leave. 9319 wade is still in love with nate. he won’t ever not be. wade and peter feel so much and i love to talk about it.)

to answer your question in more depth - 9319 wade’s feelings about nate are the same as ever. kinda wants to kill him, kinda wants to kiss him. (that is just what nate does to people). wade’s come to the understanding that nathan just can’t be what he needs. 

peter - peter happens to be as lonely and emotionally needy as wade. they’re both sad, sad cases. that’s how they’ve managed to make it work somehow. it’s why peter’s so clingy right now. he really really doesn’t want to be alone again. he doesn’t want to be without wade. like. ever. 

wade is terrified of repeating past mistakes. not just nate, but yes, nate’s one of them. he’s so fucking DONE with holier-than-thou saviour types who always put the world before him. 

so to answer your question. no. he’d never be under the pretence that him and nate could work long-term. he’s steeled his heart. nate couldn’t put wade first. 

in fact, he steeled his heart so much that it almost prevented him from letting peter in at all. 

there’s something 9319 wade wants more than anything in the world, and that’s stability. domesticity. he desperately wants a happily ever after. he, for once in his freaking life, wants something to work out for him. wants someone to stick by him. be his rock, or whatever. 

and he’s still not sure if that’s how it’ll be with peter. he doesn’t know. peter wants to freaking. put the WORLD first again or some bullshit. 

he just wants someone who’ll willingly abandon anything for him. put him first. like he so willingly does for anyone he loves. 

he wanted that from nate. 

wade is needy. so, so needy. and he likes to pretend that he isn’t. 

wade and nate’s relationship is so integral to wade’s motivations on the blog - ask-spiderpool is some kind of spiritual sequel to the cable & deadpool series, where wade finally finds whatever it was that he was looking for.

that’s not to say that wade and nathan’s relationship is sour. it’s not. (well, of course wade still wants to rip nathan’s pretty head off of his gargantuan shoulders, but that’s just the ushe.) this whole current arc right now is all about wade making peace with his heart. letting himself be loved, and realising that he deserves it. and nate’s integral to that too. 

they loved each other. they still love each other. and if nathan calls, wade will be there. always. 👏

Are there any specific wade or peter comic storylines that you recommend?

oohh!!! ohhhh!!! okay. personal faves. 

deadpool circle chase (1993) - wade’s first solo outing and to THIS freaking DAY my all time favourite deadpool book for just. everything. the art. (HUGE boner for madureira’s art but you already knew that) for the writing (nicieza i love you for fathering my child)... it’s just so beautiful and honestly really. emotionally intelligent. in fact all of nicieza’s writing for wade is really emotionally complex and it’s what made me fall in love with wade.  

will forever be salty that this wadenessa moment didn’t make it into the movies. it would’ve been such a beautiful bittersweet ending to deadpool 1 and we would’ve been SPARED vanessa being fridged in deadpool 2. hey deadpool movie writers. just wanna talk. (this is one of my favourite deadpool moments ever.) 

on the topic of nicieza, cable and deadpool (2004) is wholeheartedly the biggest inspiration for like, all the content i create so PLEASE read it. literally begging. you owe it to yourself. 

follow it up with split second. it’s so freaking good. such a treat. art is top notch. i want to kiss reilly brown.

if you’re looking for some wade angst that’ll cause you lingering physical pain, good the the bad and the ugly (2013) is vital. the storyline that introduces ellie. it’ll stomp on your heart quite violently. 

how could i FORGET uncanny xforce (2010). some of wade’s best moments. somehow he’s the moral compass of the ensemble, 

okay. peter. hm. coming home (1999) is a stand-out (not to be confused with homecoming) - think about science teach peter parker ALL the time (i love him). big honking crush on him. teach me a LESSON, spider-man. 

back in black. so freaking ICONIC. peter parker is UNHINGED. 

ultimate spider-man is such a time. i really love ultimate peter a lot. things do not end well for him, but you’ll love him. he was so good. love this kid who was WAY in over his head. 

seriously adore the campy 60s/70s antics a lot. mostly episodic but i feel like it’s vital reading. ADORE utterly moronic young adult peter parker and him doing anything for a quick buck. 

i’d say that nicieza’s deadpool is my biggest influence for wade and the 70s comics are my biggest influence for peter. 

will probably come up with more recs later! but these work up a treat.
