So I commissioned a second piece from @lemari-be, who's taking emergency art commissions to support his mate Jonathan's hospital bills. I don't usually commission other artists, let alone more than once, but the affordable pricing ($10 USD for a character sketch with basic colours + lighting) coupled with the fact that it's going to a good cause has convinced me to do it again. This time, I commissioned a piece of Kasumi Yoshizawa from Persona 5 Royal dressed as Cinderella, and I gotta say, I'm not disappointed. Seriously, absolutely gorgeous work once again Alex. Update: I edited the ribbon colour to a matching blue with the original artist's blessing. I think it fits with the colour palette a lit bit more.

It occurs to me that in a theoretical SMT/Persona + Disney crossover AU, Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog could be a Persona user. He already has a shadow which acts as an autonomous extension of his will, and Personas are essentially tamed Shadows. There's precedent for it. As for the identity of his Shadow/Persona? Baron Samedi, a prominent Loa trickster in voodoo mythology and one of the inspirations for Facilier's character.

Don't know whether I'll actually write this, so feel free to adopt the idea if y'all ever wanna write a Disney Persona fanwork.

So here's an idea: Goro Akechi from Persona 5 as roommates with Timon and Puumba from The Lion King. Post-P5R Akechi would undoubtedly find them rather annoying, but at the same time, he'd be able to relate with them to a degree due to them all being outcasts. (Granted, facing lifelong discrimination due to being an illegitimate child in Japan is pretty different from being shunned for being smelly.)

I also kinda wonder whether or not Timon's phrase "When the world turns it's back on you, you turn your back on the world!" would resonate with Akechi.

So here's my design for Shiho Suzui in the world of Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame. I imagine she'd be very cute friends with Quasimodo. This was the first design I made for the Persona 5 + Kingdom Hearts crossover fic I'm hoping to write. I primarily based Shiho's outfit off of Madelaine from the much-maligned direct-to-dvd sequel for Hunchback, albeit with the addition of a collared shirt and ribbon. I also used stock art of peasants from 15th Century France as a reference. I might alter that collar to look less angular and more like the stock art sometime down the line. Still getting the hang of drawing clothing/fabrics.

I should note that the pose and expression is based on a piece I commissioned from my friend @megaderping on her patreon. She has a very cool P4 Akechi AU titled The Crow Cries at Midnight. For fans of Goro Akechi, this is a must-read. It most certainly does the character justice whilst providing a nice twist on the plot of Persona 4.

Side note: Shiho's ribbon is based on this background character from the film. Its also a nod to the pink hair tie she sports in her canon design.

I could also see Ann donning a similar outfit to that background character.

Thinking of writing a Persona 5 + Kingdom Hearts fanfic where the P5 cast ends up stranded in various Disney worlds. Basically the premise of Kingdom Hearts but with the Phantom Thieves befriending fellow outcasts and taking on Disney villains. Its still in the early planning stages, but I would definitely like to bring it to fruition someday. In the meantime, here's a design I drew for Ann Takamaki in the world of Beauty and the Beast. I imagine she'd relate with Belle quite well. I've also outlined one scene where she slaps Gaston, specifically when the latter tries to blackmail Belle into marrying him.

Initially I considered giving Ann a tavern dress similar to the three blonde sisters but I decided against it since she's essentially the complete opposite of them. After playing around with a few designs, I ultimately went with something similar to Belle's outfit, albeit tailored to Ann's personality. To make it look a bit more distinct, I based the design off of Belle's costume from one of the Broadway musicals, with a lace pattern based on Carmen's dress. I was also inspired by the designs of French tavern dress costumes and combined that with elements of Belle's outfit to create a design which I hope suits Ann's character.

I really oughta jot down designs for the other Phantom Thieves in various Disney worlds sometime. In the meantime, enjoy this slightly abridged depiction of Ann slapping Gaston.

Originally, I modded this song into Kingdom Hearts III and I realized that the lyrics fitted Terra's character arc pretty well. Decided to test me video editing skills and, well, this happened.

Oh yeah, a mate of mine @megaderping did a really insightful character analysis on Terra, which I'll link here. Dorked also writes a KH fanfic called @khantipode which in my opinion is a must-read for any Kingdom Hearts fans.

Meant to get back to this for a while. This is a sketch of Dark Elsa from @megaderping's Kingdom Hearts fanfic @khantipode. The fourth installment (titled "Act 3: All That's Left") has a Frozen adaptation that's far more ambitious and transformative than the beat-by-beat adaptation in Kingdom Hearts III. In a nod to the original tale, Elsa gets stabbed in the heart with a shard of enchanted glass, making her see only the ugly in the world. Also, Hans gets more screentime as a villain. I oughta sketch him too.

Started getting back into art. Did some rough sketches for my friend @megaderping​‘s Kingdom Hearts fanfic @khantipode​. Specifically Riku and Kairi’s designs. Its a really well-written series with nuanced characterization and intriguing worldbuilding. Be sure to check it out! The proportions for these old sketches are kinda jank. I really oughta redraw these sometime.

For years, the Kingdom Hearts fandom has argued that Terra is the dumbest character in Birth by Sleep. That he’s too trusting, too gullible, and that Aqua has to clean up after his messes. Both he and Aqua tend to get boiled down to flat archetypes without regard for their actions in the story or the complexities to their characters.

In this video, I hope to challenge that perspective by really digging into Terra as a character, his actions in the story, and the context behind those actions. Through it all, I also wish to emphasize the tragedy of Birth by Sleep on a more personal level than the broad, macro plot elements.

Tried recreating the climactic battle in Kingdom Hearts III Data Greeting. It took some tinkering with the Asset Editor to give Aqua, Xiruk and Xion their correct Keyblades from the story, but I’m quite satisfied with the result.

The short-sleeved jacket, half black and half white, without a long coat in sight. Swallowing the lump that had lodged itself in his throat, Terra crept ever closer, but as he moved, the walls reflected pictures of the past.

Ven pushing away his and Aqua’s hands, giving them a heartbreaking look. “I’m asking you as a friend. Just… put an end to me.”

Terra offering Ven a sad smile after ruffling his hair. “When I really need you, Ven, I know you’ll be there.”

Outside their home, still a castle bathed in gold, he’d ruffled Ven’s hair before donning armor and blasting off into the sky.

Curse this place. Terra’s vision blurred through… no. He clenched his teeth and averted his gaze. He would not show weakness near the Replica, of all people… And besides, he was still a Nobody.

It was a tricky situation, to be sure. Best friends, mortal enemies. The Superior of the Organization and a Keyblade Master, both desperate to reclaim that lost piece of themselves. An uneasy truce, with an uncertain future. Neither one could fully lower their guard, nor turn a blind eye…

Then, smashing Aqua’s focus, Xiruk blurted from behind, “…You know, I’m really starting to feel like a divorce counselor here.”

They both gave him a look, equal parts perplexed and annoyed.

One of my patrons, Joel, requested a version of the divorce selfie meme because of this excerpt from All That’s Left. Xiruk (Riku Replica) is very exasperated by these two.

After months of work, I have finished my 42 minute character analysis and story deep dive on Alphys from Undertale AND Deltarune! This video covers just about everything, including chronologically organizing the True Lab entries so that there is no disputing that she wrote them all and that True Lab is about HER mistakes and character journey.

We go into other topics as well, including her motivations, struggles, the various alternate outcomes in the other routes, and even touch upon what we know about her in Deltarune so far. "But I still don't think lips are really that important" It's a joke right? Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you should learn a few things about relationships.

I'm asexual and aromantic, but besides that... they are literally monsters and not all of them have lips. Some have beaks. Some are made of slime. That's why I said lips aren't that important.

Never mind that affection can be shown in a ton of other ways besides kissing? Some couples may not kiss much, or at all. That doesn't mean their love isn't valid. There are touch averse people. Gestures and actions are really underrated.
