 she was right. it had been a very odd day, especially since at home Cordelia was more cut off from the wizarding world. she thought of the comfort of the ravenclaw common room, picturing in her mind how comfortable the arm chairs were. “in that case, maybe i will head up to the tower . . . it’s just that i didn’t really talk to a lot of these people as it was - and i’m not sure this is exactly the right way for me to get to know people either.” for some reason, she felt the need to continue to explain. maybe she was making up excuses for herself, not alecto, to argue with herself why she couldn’t stay.

Augustus was pretty sober, considering the condition of the people around him. He had taken a single sip out of his drink, preferring to brood rather than ignore the issues at hand - and yet, it caught him off guard when someone nearly tripped over him. “Oh, it’s okay, Stebbins. Really, not a big deal. Are you okay?” He wouldn’t necessarily use the word concern, but a bit of worry did tinge his voice.

“Oh- Yea, I’m okay,” She smiled briefly before looking around at the crowd of people. “Just- maybe starting to think the me and parties don’t mix well. I might head back up to the tower.” Yes, she thought, this was definitely a bit too much for her on the first day back. A bit of time away from it all might do her some good.

nate knocked his shoulder lightly against cordelia’s, jutting his chin out to gesture at the party at large while his hands were occupied holding his drink.  “ do you think it’d be strange if a good third of this party used an entirely different nickname for you? I’ve just been wondering. “  he took a drink, then gestured out with the hand holding it.  “ what if they didn’t know I went by nate? what if they called you cordy? it’d be madness. “

Cordelia couldn’t help but let out a laugh. “Actually, people did call me Cordy sometimes where I’m from.” She looked over the boy in front of her, trying to spot any difference in him. “I guess that means we’re from different timelines then?”

Cordelia was trying to make her way through the crowd of people, wondering why she had decided to come in the first place, when she stepped on something, nearly tripping. have you been re-introduced to [Cordelia Stebbins]? last we heard, the [muggle-born] was most familiar with [Timeline 1]. I don’t recall if they were always a [Ravenclaw], but I’ve heard the [7th year] is still [Eager to Learn, Honest, Tenacious] and [Solitary, Assertive, Self-Righteous,], so that’s familiar. at least [she]remembers their way around the castle.

Bogart: Her parents disappointed in her.

Cordelia’s parents were wary the day her letter came. They didn’t feel comfortable sending their daughter off to a school they knew next to nothing about, in a world they could not even fathom. Dumbledore convinced them though, and helped them take Cordelia shopping for everything that she would need.As soon as she returned home that night she delved into her new books. She couldn’t put them down! She was so excited to learn about a world that seemingly had so much to offer. By the time she had arrived at Hogwarts, she had already read every the book cover to cover. 

Her parents want her to go to muggle university when she finishes her schooling, which, as she gets older, she becomes more wary about. Cordelia has seen some of the options she could have in the wizarding world, and worries that complying to her parents wishes will hinder her career options. They are both professors at Oxford themselves, so they think that the higher education will benefit her greatly. The added stress of not only studying for Newts this year, but also having to deal with university application has been making her very anxious about the year to come. Her parents are some of the only people she feels like she can’t stand up to. 

The Ravenclaw common room happened to become her favourite place in world. There were shelves of books that she had been making her way through, in all her years there. There was also some very cozy nooks, perfect for when you wanted to be alone, yet still somewhat close to others.Cordelia found she only really got along with her dormmates on a surface  level. She always felt somewhat out of the loop, like she wasn’t quite within the circle. 

She is amazed by flying, truly, but its still something she is a bit afraid of, and she is worried that she will be rubbish at it. Cordelia tends to stay away from things she is not certain she can do. She loves watching the game though, despite never being a fan of muggle sports, watching quidditch was always so breathtaking.

She keeps her head down and keeps to herself. She was often taken aback when anything negative would come up about her blood status, and like many other muggleborns, she seeks to prove herself in the wizarding world, to prove that she belongs there. So she mainly focuses and putting her best effort into all of her classes. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t stick up for herself though,most of the time she just finds its not worth the energy. 

You can often find Cordelia in the library, in her favourite corner of the Ravenclaw common room, or in good weather, sitting out by the black lake.

She has a large collection of muggle literature and often in her down time is reading those books. Her favorite novel is Watership Down.
