“Yeah, I haven’t been here all that long but I can tell you are right about that.” She huffed as she slowly shook her head. “It makes me feel sad because it seems like there are a whole lot of good people here.” 

“A whole lot of good people, sure, but there are also some bad ones - which is true for any town, I suppose,” Cora replied as she let out a breath of air and pinched the bridge of her nose. “I swear, I need to get out of this funk soon.”

“A blessing? May I ask why you believe it to be a blessing.”Alisa was quite curious as to what the other female meant. “It is a rare gift to have and sometimes I wish I didn’t have it.”

“You never die. Forever in the same state, never aging, never feeling pain for longer than an instant,” Cora listed. “People who hate immortality are those who get attached to the living. It’s a privilege to never die.”

“I think of it as a blessing,” Cora replied as she closed the folder in front of her without looking at it. Instead - she had her gaze on the vampire. “Immortality, that is. It’s a rare gift to have.”

Alisa turned her head a little at the sound of the voice that came from behind her. “3:55? Thank you very much.”She said as she ran her hands through her hair. “Oh I am more of a tea person and I just spaced out a little bit,did feel like I was sleeping though.”

Cora only nodded at the words of thanks from the girl, her eyes glued to a single paper in her hands. It seemed like the only way to sell any of her properties would be to lower the asking price, which was something she rarely did. “Sleeping?” the demon asked, raising an eyebrow and eyeing the vampire. “Odd, seeing as you can’t be sick.”

“3:55pm,” Cora answered, not looking up from the manilla folder in front of her. Another property going up for sale. It was the third one she’d received in the past week, undoubtedly due to the unfortunate circumstances the town has found itself in. Trying to find buyers was a task that became increasingly harder and harder these days. “Maybe you should drink some coffee to wake you up.”

Alisa had a tendency to space out,especially when she was by herself. She had been in the cafe for a while,scribbling down notes to help improve the bar and some doodles to go with them. She had been so lost that she was only brought out of her trance by somebody hitting the back of her chair. “What? I’m here,what time is it?”

“It is pretty lucky,” The demon agreed with a slight nod. “I’m doing fine, just a slight sensitivity here and there but overall decent. It’s a shame about this whole thing. I swear, this town never catches a break.”
