Are you anxious? I was this morning. Want to know what helped? I went out on my deck and just looked at nature and listened to the sounds around me. I watched the limbs of the trees move in the wind. I listened to each individual bird call. This simple task calmed my anxiety. Try it. Sit outside when you are anxious. I find this to be 100% true. When I am having a good day, it is irritating to hear people say "Well you don't look depressed?!" Or "You are a social butterfly. How do you have anxiety?" Can we stop with the labels? Anxiety and depression do not just have one symptom. I am a big believer in self care. Self care can mean many things: sleep, exercise, massage, hair and nails, etc. The self care I am referring to for this post is doctors appointments. It is so important to keep and to attend your doctors appointments. This week I had two that I attended. The pictures above show the waiting for both my Psychiatrist and Therapist.
