Tandem skydive or tandem parachute jumping refers to a form of skydive in which a tandem skydive instructor is paired with a student on a parachute during a tandem jump. The student is guided by the instructor through the entire jump from release to landing, piloting the parachute, and landing safely. It is often used for intense military and extreme sports training exercises. Tandem skydive training is sometimes used as a part of advanced military training for jumpmasters, paragliders, and acrobats. A tandem jump can be executed solo, or in a tandem with another person.
Tandem skydive training can be done in a traditional classroom setting or in an outdoor environment, such as an airplane hangar. Tandem skydive training can be done at home by teaching first timers how to deploy the parachute and load it onto their plane, but in most cases it is safer to do so outdoors. First timers are given a safety orientation prior to every jump, including how to deploy the parachute and strap the chute to their plane, where to hold it, and how to land. First timers are also taught how to parachute in and out of a dive, how to get out of a dive quickly if necessary, and how to use their ejection pod in a crash. Tandem skydive instructors also teach students how to parachute and perform various skydive maneuver during the jump. After every lesson, first timers are usually given an opportunity to practice the maneuver they have just learned in the field.
Tandem skydive training is ideal for those who want to jump themselves as well as those who want to tandem skydive with someone else. Tandem skydive is usually less intense than freefall because the parachute does not slow the descent rate. Tandem skydive jumping is more difficult than freefall because the student must maintain his or her balance throughout the jump and when the parachute opens, the parachute can drag the body. As a result, first time tandem skydivers must pay special attention to their balance throughout the jump.

Tandem skydive means a kind of skydive in which a tandem skydive instructor is attached to a tandem parachute by a cord. The instructor then guides the student throughout the entire jump from beginning to end, piloting the tandem parachute, and landing safely on the ground. In addition, tandem skydive instructors also ensure that the tandem student is properly equipped. This usually includes a helmet, parachute, first aid kit, and light clothing.
To become a qualified skydive instructor, you must be able to demonstrate appropriate skills, as well as experience in tandem skydive. Generally speaking, this means that you need to at least hold a pilot's license for non-commercial (meaning not for sale to or used by anyone) operation. If you have this license, you can then pursue pursuing the training necessary to qualify as an instructor at a tandem skydive center. Just like other skydive instructors, you will be expected to take an approved tandem skydive class, complete an approved training course, and keep up your certification until you are able to legally teach tandem skydive. When you are certified, you will need to take an additional tandem skydive class if your current certificate is not certified.
One of the most common ways to teach tandem skydive is at a tandem skydive school. There are several types of tandem skydive schools, including one-on-one instruction, group classes, and classroom instruction. The one-on-one method is probably the most popular way to teach people how to do tandem skydive because it is less formal than traditional classroom training. Classes that include a large number of people tend to be more formal and allow for a much more interactive student base. Many people find classroom instruction intimidating. Whatever method you choose, the important thing to remember is to be safe.

A tandem skydive is essentially a tandem skydive experience in which two individuals safely jump from an airplane together, securely strapped together using the connecting strap. The attaching straps ensure that only one person is airborne at any one time during the freefall. When the parachute opens, the parachute is guided through a slight drop to the earth, allowing the jumper to deploy the chute and launch into a freefall dive.
A tandem skydive differs from freefall in a few ways. For instance, a freefall skydive will often use a small inflatable parachute that leaves the passenger far from the airplane. A tandem skydive will often use a much larger chute that leaves the passenger much higher than the airplane, often several stories above the plane. This is used in tandem skydives because the parachute can still slow the descent when the chute opens because the speed is much greater than the speed of the descent. This allows the skydivers to have longer freefall and still reach a safe landing.
One of the primary differences in a tandem skydive and a freefall is the terminal velocity. When a freefall diver descends to the terminal velocity, his or her speed lessens until they are almost touching the ground. Then, with only the downward momentum remaining, the skydivers freefall without holding on to anything. If there is any kind of obstruction, the descent will continue at or near the terminal velocity until something stops the descent (such as a tree branch) or slows the descent enough to allow the skydivers to regain a horizontal position. In a tandem skydive, the skydivers do not have that added pressure because there is no obstruction, and because the descent is not continuous.
There are many reasons why a first time skydiver might want to try a tandem skydive. If you are afraid of heights, you may be afraid of crashing, or you just want to see what it feels like to freefall. If you are afraid of heights but you don't like freefall, you can try paragliding. Or, if you are afraid of crashes, then skydiving could be your solution. It's just a matter of trying it out.
Many first time skydivers will choose a tandem skydive because they can choose to do it at home, in a gym, or with an instructor. The instructor can also be safer than a paraglider or flyer because he or she knows exactly how to handle a paraglider when he or she drops from the sky. The downside to this is that you usually need a more intense instructor training course before you are allowed to try it. If you would rather do it yourself at home, there are many options. You can find free videos or instruction on YouTube or other video sharing sites. You can also get a book that can walk you through the techniques.
A tandem skydive usually takes less than a half hour, including the time for the jump itself. This allows first timers to get their experience under their belt before jumping into the airplane flying sports. It's a great way to get into skydiving without hurting yourself or quitting because you're scared.

It's a commonly held misconception that only an experienced tandem skydiving instructor can teach a solo skydive. Guess what? Your first solo skydive could be under your wing as first jump number one in extremely safe, thorough and professional first solo skydive course under your wing. In fact, a first solo skydive is as much about jumping out of the plane as it is about skydiving. So, why wait? Jumping out of the plane solo is a great way to start as a solo skydive.
First, the benefit of first solo skydive over tandem skydiving is the sheer freedom of doing it on your own. As a tandem skydiving In Melbourne instructor, you may only get to share with your students on certain areas of the sport, but in solo skydive, you can literally skydive solo - without worrying about other people or obstacles. (As an added bonus, this also makes first solo skydive a highly economical solo skydive.)
Second, a solo skydive allows you to test the waters before investing in a full fledged tandem skydiving training program. A solo skydive is not as quick or simple as a tandem skydiving training program, so if you're just getting started in skydiving, it's always good to test the waters first. You can skip training right away if you feel too intimidated by the challenges of solo skydive. A training program will give you more confidence and more ability. Plus, a training program will teach you different elements of skydiving like breathing techniques, paragliding, skydiving, etc.
Third, you can jump right into your first solo skydive without thinking too much about your safety. Since you're just jumping out of an airplane, there's very little chance that anything will go wrong. (As a side note, if you're scared after your first jump, don't jump again until you've had plenty of time to calm down.) And since most first jumps are about 5 percent off the ground, you won't be getting too high in your parachute anyway!
Finally, a solo skydive gives you the ability to try all kinds of new things. Since you're not in a tandem, you can go straight up, go down and turn around, or go "freefall" - basically, anything that you can do in a tandem, you can do in a freefall. First of all, I'd recommend getting a very light chute to slow you down as you fall. Next, you need a good piece of gear - either a parachute or some kind of chute net, to slow you even more. Finally, many skydivers make the mistake of trying to catch the falling drop, which is silly and dangerous - you should be looking for the best possible moment to stop, slow, and reverse the drop.
In a solo skydive, you're going to have to do everything yourself. But don't worry: that's what makes it so exciting! So get comfortable in your parachute, lighten up your chute, get a spotter, and start practicing. We recommend that you jump at least one time using the equipment that you bought (your choice, really), then three or four times on a lighter plane. Once you're comfortable with the equipment and know how it works, you'll be ready to jump solo!

When it comes to accelerated freefall, many people mistakenly think that they are experiencing an actual skydive. That's true, as long as there's not too much wind. What most people aren't aware of, however, is that there is a difference between accelerated freefall and true skydive. It's important to understand all the differences between these two sports so that you can make an informed decision when deciding whether or not to try them. Here's a quick rundown of the main differences between the two.
There are several different ways you can learn to dive in a quicker, more controlled fashion. Some companies will use an accelerated freefall skydiving program, but the way it's taught differs greatly from company to company. Some companies will use what's called an aff program, which stands for an accelerated learning curve. This method puts more emphasis on learning the moves or techniques used by professionals, and less emphasis on memorizing a bunch of repeated phrases.
Accelerated freefall means that you have a much shorter drop than normal. Usually, you're only going to be at level seven or eight prior to the jump. However, this isn't true for all companies; sometimes they will allow you to level nine before your solo skydive. If you can't get the required amount of time in a single dive, then you'll only have your instructor to blame for the lack of solo skydive distance. This method of solo skydiving is also known as "accelerated", because the progress is the quickest way to achieve solo free fall, usually from ten,000 feet to fifteen,000 feet.
In most cases, you'll be paired up with another student for your first two dives. From there, you'll either be able to choose to remain at your spot, or move on to another student that hasn't yet started their freefall demo skydive. Either way, your instructor will be with you, to give you feedback on your performance, teach you the correct way to deploy your chute, as well as giving you the option to stop the dive at any time. All of these things are done in a safe environment, with the utmost care and concern for your safety.
Most freefall skydive training programs will take place in instructor led classes. This means that the actual instructor will be with the students, instructing them through both standard and accelerated freefall lessons. They will guide students through the entire process of solo training, from pre-dive check-ups, all the way through the solo skydive itself. The canopy used is the same type used by professional skydivers, so there's nothing special to learn in terms of how to deploy the canopy. This is just one of the differences between a standard and accelerated training course.
Once you have completed the training, you'll have the option of going through the accelerated part of the program, where you'll go through a full set of free fall exercises in a much shorter amount of time. At level 1, you'll only have to complete three out of ten assignments to earn your wings. This will allow you to quickly develop your solo skills, and gain enough confidence to complete the full accelerated course. Once you complete the program, you'll be ready to climb up to level 2, where you will complete another ten assignments once again, this time in a row.
