to add to the pile of walls love letters, walls is the definition of a comfort album for me. to hear louis’ voice and songwriting shine for a whole album’s length of songs felt like a warm hug after years of clawing for all the 15-30 second sections of his voice in 1d songs. and not only did i get that, but i got this beautiful little showcase of his ability and talent that stunned me from first listen. there’s always been something so special about louis and his songwriting that makes my heart clench in a way nearly no one else can. it’s filled with such raw emotion and vulnerability that leaves me breathless and emotional and thoughtful and yearning. and i think walls is the perfect representation of that. each song is so compelling. it’s so LOUIS. it’s passionate, it’s direct and no-nonsense, it’s packed with vulnerability. his voice shone like never before and proved it was always a voice that could stand on its own. walls was the beginning of what i’m sure will be a long and beautiful career, and i’m so thankful for it in so many ways, both personally and for him. happy birthday walls, i love you dearly always and forever 💕

so so many people won’t understand the gravity of this moment because they became fans too late but those of us who have been waiting since two thousand and fucking fifteen Know. those of us who watched them snipe at each other on twitter and say hurtful things in interviews… pretend the other didn’t even exist for so long… this is for us. those of us who watched them grow older and lose people close to them, watched zayn tentatively post clips of himself singing 1d songs and liking 1d edits. those of us who, only a couple of years ago, heard louis say they need to grow up more before they’re able to have the necessary conversations… those of us who know it’s not farfetched to say that liam loved these two the most in the band. he loved harry and niall, yes, but zayn was his best friend and he still went to louis for advice even years down the line. those of us who remember the time when it used to be harryandlouis & zaynandliam. now liam isnt here to watch his best friends reconcile (partly because of him) and i’m never going to recover from this
