some days are hard. and in those days, please be kind to yourself. please give yourself grace. please treat yourself like someone you love. warm up some soup. make some tea. tell yourself that it’s going to be alright, because it will be. it will be.

damn right about zhongguang being a slow burn, and how most people prefer otherwise.
After some scrolling along the Zhongguang tag, I’m gonna chime in with a bit of ✨character development✨ points.
Just a warning that Zhongguang is my OTP in Genshin (along with Sarabaal) so yeah.
I’ve seen a lot of people that don’t ship Zhongguang say the ship essentially ruins Zhongli’s growth because part of Zhongguang’s appeal to some is the theory that Ningguang is Guizhong’s reincarnation of a sort. I personally buy this theory so let’s just assume it were canon, for the sake of my suggestion.
It doesn’t ruin Zhongli’s growth at all, it just poses a challenge. After all, he’s only had two individual story quests (as of me writing this) so his growth isn’t over. Him having an initial interest in Ningguang because she reminds him so much of Guizhong, but he tries to keep his distance because he knows he has to move on from the past. Which after some time, leads to him coming to appreciate Ningguang as herself and not as Guizhong 2. He gets to know Ningguang beyond his initial impressions and realizes he loves her for her and not because of a few similarities to Guizhong (cuz even if the two have similarities, they’re still different and are different people).
I know it’s very VERY slow burn and doesn’t have the quick appeal of Beiguang and ChiLi/ZhongChi but I think I’m just a sucker for Zhongguang being together. They just feel right.
