“Who me?” his inner ten year old was screaming. Keep it cool, Wilbur. “Aw shucks, I mean. I can’t. I have other obligations. yanno? I mean, thank you though. Not much of a fighter or nothing, unless you count the ‘lurks.”

“Oh! I see. That makes a lot of sense! Thank you.” he went to work fixing his errors. A little embarrassed, but he got over it real quick. Can’t get it right every time. One. More. Turn. That should be it.

He gave the switch another flip. The machine shook and came to life. Within moments the lights came on. Wilbur let out a gleeful laugh. “It works!”

I’m back, my activity will be better but not by much since I’m really sick of computers being stuck in the dark in front of one for a week and getting yelled at :D I love theatre.

He mumbled something that sounded like “Thankblew.” when Bailey complimented his name. He was named after some pre-war fictional character that his mother loved as a girl. A pig. A fictional pig.

“A yup, should be. Nothing too out of the ordinary in The Commonwealth, yah? How’s a hundred half now half later, not including any supplies you need. Dunno what you runners might need? Ammo? ...Shoes?” He really didn’t know at all.

“No harm, no foul, Wilbur, I– Wilbur. Y’know, I don’t think I’ve ever heard that name! Wiiilbur. I like it.”

[ They wipe beer off their elbow, not bothered a whit by any of it. Trust them. They’ve had worse things on their elbow than a li’l lager. The hankie’s not goin’ anywhere near their pocket after this, though, no sir. It’s set on the bar, in a sodden yellow-stained heap, in exile. ]

[ With that, they turn to face Wilbur proper, sitting up straight on the bar stool, dark eyes alert. If they’re trying to compensate for their short stature, it ain’t working. ]

“The job sounds pretty alright, Wilbur. Standard run. No grisly surprises, right?Right! Next question. What are, uh, what kinda compensation am I lookin’ at?”

// I know I haven't been here much but I'm really gonna disappear starting today til the production I'm working on opens on Friday. Hell week has started. After this I am back. For real. Since one of the winners never got back to me, I redrew a winner for the sketch prize. I upgraded @waste-land-artist to ink. So the new winner is @programmablesoul. You get a sketch bust. I'll message you when I have the time and any drawing won't get done til next week.

And I’m about two weeks away from the production I’m working on opens. So a week until tech week, aka hell week. I’m the sound designer and lead scenic painter for the show I’m practically living at the theatre. 

I have 4 more drafts here and 1 on Jacob. I’ll get to them soon.
