imo Silver didn't even need to fight Johnny. Silver already won with this line:
"Prom is a special night. Did you even know [Robby] was going?"

i’m so happy cobra kai episodes get released all at once, imagine waiting a week only for a big cliffhanger to be anticlimactically subverted or for more regression in character development lawl

Daniel: doesn’t accept an apology from his abuser who mentally and physically tortured him for months
Terry: canonically a sadist who enjoyed torturing a teen
Kreese: encourages Terry to be violent by hanging his debt over his head, pokes at his sadistic tendencies and triggers his destructive behavior on purpose
Writers: Man, we wish Daniel wouldn’t have been such a hothead, everything would have been alright! Daniel is the reason all bad things happen on this show. Anyway,

on rewatch im realizing how impressive it is that this show, that has like 135 characters and plotlines and almost no time to dig deep into any of them properly, still manages to find the time to confirm every single character’s heterosexuality <3

this absolute doozy of an article tho
NOTED PHILANTROPIST TERRANCE SILVER
Vietnam veteran and successful business mogul, Terrance Silver’s insight on the importance of corporate philantropy and how mission driven works have transformed his career.
Terrance Silver could easily be named the hero of our generation. He dominates the business world and priorizes charity over personal gain. He is selfless and caring. But if you dig a little deeper, you’ll learn that he has had his fair share of ups and downs.
At the young age of 18 he fought for his country in the Vietnam war. As one could assume, his post war life was full of difficulties and painful hardships that led him down the wrong path.
Despite his tumultuous past, Silver managed to reinvent himself and establish a multi-million dollar company. Corporate responsibility and giving back to the community have driven his business, creating an equitable and ethically sustainable business model. His impact and selflessness continually inspire his colleagues and everyone around him as he continues to make the world a better place. And he’s easy on the eyes! Look at those baby blues.

Also, Cobra Kai was never about “offense only” and Miyagi-Do was never about “defense only.” At least not when it comes to specific moves? It was just about an approach to life. Cobra Kai is Strike First, Strike Hard, No mercy. It’s about aggression and doing whatever you can to win. It doesn’t matter who you’re fighting or why you’re fighting them. It doesn’t matter if you really need to use that level of aggression. Miyagi-Do was about only fighting when you had to. It was about self-defense. It was about doing what you needed to protect yourself but thats it. It was about de-escalation. And the show itself supported that, in the earlier seasons. Daniel didn’t only teach Robby defensive moves. And johnny didn’t only teach Miguel offensive moves. It wasn’t about the moves, it was about the philosophy. So why they tried to retcon that this season, I’ll never understand.

can we just accept at this point that robert mark kamen accidentally wrote a gay movie but the straights didn’t see it because why would they. i even think we should be thankful the writers at least remembered that terry was extremely loyal to kreese and that his first instinct when kreese expressed disappointment in him would be to prove his loyalty and shower him with gifts, that’s at least in character. because a lot of straights on twitter and reddit don’t even see that, they only see the facade of a super scary villain and think terry was plotting to throw kreese under the bus since episode 1. 🙄
see, the thing is kreese never treated terry like shit and was actually open and vulnerable in front of him so easily in tkk3. and terry built him up when he was down. they treated each other like equals and were completely unselfish.
