Japanese Fighting
Therer is many different styles of japanese martial arts.
Examples -
Aikido
Aikido was  developed by Morihei Ueshiba as a synthesis of his martial studies, philosophy and religious beliefs. Ueshiba's goal was to create an art that practitioners could use to defend themselves while also protecting their attackers from injury.
Judo
Judo was originally created in 1882 by Jigoro Kano. Judo's most prominent feature is its competitive element, where the objective is to either throw or take down an opponent to the ground, immobilize or otherwise subdue an opponent with a pin, or force an opponent to submit with a joint lock or a choke.
Iaido
Iaido is associated with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard (or saya), striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard.
Karate
Karate was developed in the Ryukyu Kingdom. Karate is now predominantly a striking art using punching, kicking, knee strikes, elbow strikes and open-hand techniques such as knife-hands, spear-hands and palm-heel strikes. Historically, and in some modern styles, grappling, throws, joint locks, restraints and vital-point strikes are also taught. A karate practitioner is called a karateka.

What is a Arcade Game?
Arcade games often have short levels, which rapidly increase in difficulty with simple and intuitive controls. Game players are essentially renting the game for as long as the game avatar is alive. For this business model to be profitable, the difficulty of the game must be high enough to make the players reach a game-over state and engaging or addictive enough to keep the players playing.

My sprite sheet and the character:
This is my sprite sheet that is including a lot of my animations including idle, walk, run, jump, death and more. I remember doing this for my 2D platformer in Unity (it had the same concept). I got a lot of inspiration from the popular game available on console and pc Nidhogg, this game is a 2 player side scrolling fighting game. My idea of a character was going for a samurai look with the helmet, I’m a huge fan of how I made the helmet and It came out decent. My animations are very generic when it comes to a 2D styled game with it being very similar to my Unity project.
The movement is very smooth however I haven’t made the full animations in Unreal yet, I went with a unique style with movement from some being very generic and others being somewhat backflips and interesting death animations.
Overall I’m glad with what I have produced so far and can’t wait to see more with this character.

My Game
I have finally got a main idea of what my games going to look like:
My idea is that the two characters will be stick men with like a samurai helmet and the background could be a kinda rough cartoony Japanese temple or other places around japan.

The way i'll keep people drawn into my game and wanting to keep playing it is the compition between one another. Because it is a multiplayer game and you're most likely to play with mates and whoever looses is gonna want to re match to try and prove there better and then it just keeps going till one gets bored or amits defeat.

My idea for my game is that 2 samurai that have to kill each other to to get to the next part like Nidhogg. The samurai armour is like an extra life. you also have on bow and arrow shot that you can do from any range.

I dont really understand how to make it split screen multiplayer and i think i could do with looking other it a couple more times to fully understand how to do, especially since i'm planing on making my game a 1v1 multiplayer. But noit split screen because they will be on the same platform.

The samurai (or bushi) were the warriors of premodern Japan. Samurai were originally paid to guard the wealthy and their land/valuables. They later made up the ruling military class that eventually became the highest ranking social caste of the Edo Period (1603-1867).
