Note: Merry Christmas! This is a few hours late, I’m sorry! but I hope you enjoy :) This is a collab with @girlbabyvelez @erickandzabsprincess @moonlitzabdiel @cnchoebaby  

You were bored. You came to this cozy town to meet with family for the holidays and to familiarize yourself with the scenery before moving here in January. You planned to meet your cousins and your aunt in a small, cute, family-owned bakery near the square of the town, but they haven’t been returning any of your calls or texts. You hoped they were alright because there seemed to be a snowstorm about to pass through, you didn’t want anything to happen to them and you’d rather they stayed at home and not meet with you instead of endangering themselves. So you quietly enter the bakery, the delicious smell of freshly baked goods wafted over your senses, you could definitely get used to coming here, you could already imagine yourself visiting the business daily- if the baked goods tasted as good as they smelled, you wouldn’t leave here anytime soon. You looked around while walking to the counter, you didn’t know what you should get, everything looked oh so yummy.

“Hi, could I get a chocolate chip cookie and a hot chocolate, please?” you asked, gazing at all the sweets and not paying attention to the extra fine-looking guy standing behind the counter, staring at you curiously.

“Yes of course, will that be here or to go?” he asked sweetly.

“Here, if you don’t mind, the weather isn’t looking that well, I’d rather not get stuck in the snow.” You chuckled and were surprised to hear a deep chuckle from the boy across the counter.

“I’d actually prefer if you stayed here, wouldn’t want you getting hurt, now would we?” he winked back while getting your order ready. He handed you the hot chocolate and served you the cookie on a cute Christmas themed plate. You thanked him with a blush and sheepishly brought your order to a table by the window, you could see the ever-thickening layer of snow.

“It looks like you aren’t getting out of here anytime soon and well, neither am I so I thought maybe we could talk? Are you new here? I haven’t seen you around before, if so, I’d love to show you around sometime.” You were startled by the cute boy sitting opposite you suddenly. You were shocked that he was talking to you but pleased, after all, who wouldn’t like a cute stranger taking interest in them?

“I’d love that.”

“I’m gonna miss you so much tomorrow Chris.”

“I know Val, I wish more than anything that I could be there with you for Christmas.” hearing him say that just made your heart ache even more.

Chris had been gone on tour for months and everyday without him got harder and harder. Tomorrow being Christmas it just made things even worse.

“I got you a present, it should be arriving at your place tomorrow.”

“Ay Chris you didn’t have to get me anything!” you huffed knowing all you really wanted was him there with you.

“I know baby pero its something I know you’ll love.” he grinned. God how you missed seeing that grin in person.

You had been so sad about not being able to see Chris on Christmas you hadn’t even decorated your apartment. Your heart hurt just staring at his face on your phone screen.

“I think I’m gonna go to bed, I’m super tired.” throwing in a fake yawn to punctuate your sentence.

“I love you so much Valentina”

“I love you too.” a tear began to roll down your cheek. Not wanting Chris to see you cry you hurriedly hung up, allowing you to cry alone. Months of built up sadness finally coming out.

Your alarm woke you up the next morning, blaring an ironically festive ringtone. Festive was the furthest from what you really felt. Without Chris with you, it didn’t even feel like Christmas. You contemplated even getting out of bed, I mean you could just sleep all day, right? Deciding you needed to at least have some hot cocoa you dragged yourself out of your room. You rubbed your eyes trying to wake up just enough to see.

“Merry Christmas mi amor!”

You jumped at the sound of the familiar voice, looking up to see your boyfriend standing in the middle of your living room. “Chris,” you screamed running up to him, crashing into him. “How are you even here right now? I thought you weren’t going to make it back until New Year’s!”

“I decided I needed a break to come see my girlfriend.”

A smile grew on your lips and you buried your face in his chest. Breathing in his scent, feeling his arms wrapped around you for the first time in what felt like forever. It almost felt unreal. You were so overwhelmed you started tearing up.

“Are you crying? Damn I didn’t think I smelled that bad.” he joked.

You let out a chuckle, “I just can’t believe you’re here,” your grip tightened around him. “I missed you so much.”

“I missed you too Val.” he said as he cupped your face, peppering soft, sweet kisses all over your face. After months without him, your heart was full of emotions. You were bursting at the seams.

After a bit of convincing you got him to agree to go to your moms Christmas party later.

You two spent the rest of the morning and half of the day cuddled up in bed. Half of your attention on whatever Christmas movie was playing on t.v. and the other half on each other. Chris was telling you all about things that happened on tour, you catching him up on your job.

6:00 o’clock rolled around and you got up from the bed, “Ay no amor, just a few more minutes.” Chris pleaded. You laughed continuing to walk away, gathering your clothes and heading to the bathroom.

“Come on, you better get dressed or else we’ll be late.”

You walked back into your room, fully dressed. Chris looked up from his phone and his mouth immediately dropped. “You look so beautiful Val.” he said as he stood up, wrapping his arms around you.

“Oh yeah? Hm you don’t look too bad yourself papa.” you smiled. You leaned into each other for a slow, sultry kiss.

Breaking the kiss to look at the time you saw if you guy didn’t leave now you’d be late. You grabbed your purse and Chris’ hand and hurried out of the door, downstairs and into the car.

You two arrived at your moms quickly, immediately heading to the couch. You were cuddled up in Chris’ arms, watching as all your little cousins opened up their presents and played. It made your heart all warm and fuzzy inside. It gave you the smallest yearning for a kid of your own. You turned back to Chris, a small smile on his face from watching the kids too.

“Chris! Chris! Can you come play with us?” your little cousin, Josey, asked. Chris giggled, “Of course mija.”

You watched as he sat on the floor playing with them. Josey had gotten a hair accessory kit for Christmas, she began pulling clips out and pinning Chris’ hair all which ways. Chris just played along, telling Josey he wanted a good hair-do for pictures, the three of you giggling. You looked into his eyes, so full of joy, so bright. Your heart swelled, you couldn’t wait to have a little girl with Chris.

“Josey can I steal him back just for a little bit.”

“Aw, okay, but he has to come back! I need to put the pink glitter in his hair so he can look pretty!” she said in all seriousness. Chris chuckled nervously.

You grabbed his hand and led him to the doorway of the kitchen. “Whats up nena?”

“I just wanted to say I love you.” you said leaning in and giving him a quick kiss.

“I love you too.” he smiled.

You nodded your head over to the group of kids, “You think you’re ready for one of those?” you laughed.

“Val, with you, I’m ready for all of it.”

“Oh yeah? Pues, vámonos, lets go get started.”

Chris’ eyes widened as he chuckled, “Oh it’s on.” he grabbed your coats and you two hurrily said goodbye to everyone. Getting into the car, his hand on your thigh, you laughed and kissed his cheek. This was all you wanted for Christmas, just you and your boyfriend.

“Baby are you sure you’re okay?” Erick wiped my tears, “Yes I’m okay now..” I sighed. “You didn’t have to do that, I would have understood.” He told me, “But—I really wanted to celebrate my first Christmas with you.” I told him. “But you got..disowned nena...I feel horrible.” He sighed. “Erick you did nothing wrong.” I assured him. “It was all me.” I said and he held my hand to comfort me. My parents are strict religious Jews and they didn’t like the idea of me dating someone out of my religion and celebrating Christmas with Erick and his family. “You’ll still respect my religious holidays right?” I asked. He gave me a soft smile and he squeezed my hand. “Of course nena, if it makes you happy. I’ll even celebrate with you.” He said. “Today is the first day of Hanukkah. And I’m not with them.” I sighed and played with his fingers.

“Let’s celebrate then. I’ll go buy donuts from down the street and you’ll stay here and make hot chocolate how does that sound? We’ll play dreidel and we’ll make a little menorah and you can guide me with everything.” He said and I started tearing up again. “How did I get so lucky to have you in my life?” I asked. He gave an innocent shrug, “I’ll be back.” He said and kissed my nose. He put on his winter coat and I took of my scarf and I wrapped it around his neck. “Be safe.” I told him and he nodded and left. I still had my winter coat on so I took it off and I hung it next to where his was. I made my way through the familiar kitchen and I got the stuff to make the hot chocolate. I’m so lucky to have Erick in my life he has done so much for me. Maybe he truly is the one. We’ve been together for almost two years.

I started making the hot chocolate so it’ll be nice and warm for him when he returns home. I heard the door open and close and I peeked and saw him with flushed red cheeks and nose. “I’m back.” He yelled then looked up. “Oh you’re right there.” He said and I laughed. “Just in time.” I smiled. He prepped the table that was pushed against the window. He put the box of donuts there and asked if I needed anything. “I forgot what else you need.” He said, I looked at the table and I was so happy he was trying so hard.

After lighting the makeshift menorah with birthday candles and aluminum foil we started playing dreidel. For someone who didn’t know what he was doing he started winning and I was getting frustrated. “All I do is win win win no matter what.” He sang and did a shimmy. I laughed and every negative emotion disappeared. “Do you want to play music in front of the fire place?” He asked me and I nodded. He grabbed his guitar and handed me mine. We sat on the floor criss cross applesauce style and he cleared his throat. “It’s time for Hanukkah, time to wear your....” “yamaka.” I said and he laughed and nodded. “That. Okay let’s do this.” He googled chords of my favorite Hanukkah song and he played and sang for me. I already knew the song so I easily joined in. After that we just started playing random songs that came into our heads. Spending time like this with Erick made me really really happy. I wasn’t worried about anything. My fingers were cold so I put down the guitar and I warmed up my fingers while I hold the warm mug.

“Going out tonight, changes into something red...” Erick sang out loud. I took a sip of hot coco while I listen to his soothing voice.

“We’re only getting older, baby. And I’ve been thinking about it lately.”

This is the man I want to marry.

“Does it ever drive you crazy, Just how fast the night changes? Everything that you’ve ever dreamed of, Disappearing when you wake up.”

I don’t know what I would do with Erick. I don’t remember how my life was before I met him.

“But there’s nothing to be afraid of even when the night changes.”

He looked me in the eyes and I was in a trance, his gorgeous eyes were staring into my soul.

“It will never change, baby, it will never change, baby. It will never change, me and you.”

He finished singing and I noticed I was leaning closer to him. He looked at my lips and licked his own. I closed my eyes and our lips touched I was in total bliss. My heart was pounding and I was falling in love with him all over again. “My love for you will never change.” He whispered against my lips ans we pulled away. I gave him a soft smile and he kissed my forehead. “When I went to the bakery Joel gave me two tickets to the ice rink downtown. Do you want to go and check it out?” He asked and I nodded. “That’ll be perfect to end the first night of Hanukkah.” I said and he took off the scarf I gave him and he wrapped it around me.

“Alright let’s go.”

Mistletoe // Richard Camacho

Summary: Vanessa and Richard are close friends but the holiday spirit brings them closer together.

Note: I got these ideas from mistletoe by justin bieber but yeah. I did this as a collab with my friends and more will be posted in the following days. The first fic was Zabdiel done by the lovely @moonlitzabdiel​ check out Alyssa’s fic.

Her hands fumbled with the strings on her apron as she stepped into the cafe from the back entrance. She was entirely focused on making sure her apron is secure that she didn’t see her co-worker walking in front of her until they collided with each other. Richard’s hands immediately flew to her waist, trying to steady her before she tripped over him. 

“Woah Nessa, you okay?” He asks her watching as she furrows her brows. He could tell she was stressed. 

“Sorry Richard, just a little stressed,” Vanessa explains as she pushes herself away from the boy and towards the register to clock in and begin her shift at the cafe. 

“Hey I need to go shopping later for Aaliyah, but would you want to join me? You could unwind and I’ll buy you a hot chocolate and your favorite gingerbread cookies from Pimentel?” He offers as he follows her to the counter. Vanessa could feel her heart melt at his kind offer, her heart beating a little faster at the thought of spending more time with him. 

“I would love that Richard.”

The snow fell lightly around them as they walked through the town’s outdoor shopping center. The lights that hung on the walls and the trees were enough to illuminate the entire town and it was something Vanessa had enjoyed watching as Richard lead her to the little toy shop. 

“So what does Aaliyah wish for?” She asks him as they step into the warm shop. He smiles over at her as he directs her over to the Disney toy aisle. “Of course,” Vanessa says and she adds a chuckle remembering when she saw the girl all she talked about was her favorite movie, Frozen. 

“You know how much she loves Frozen.” He whispers as he browses the selection of toys around him. Vanessa follows his lead, searching for a gift that she could give the little girl until she spots the Sven and Olaf stuffed animals that sat beside the dolls. She reaches out and grabs them, deciding to get it for the precious girl.

“I think I’m going to get her the ice castle. What do you think Nessa?” Richard asks, grabbing her attention as he holds up the box with the castle in it. 

“I think she’ll love it, and now she’ll have these to go with it.” She says and holds up the stuffed characters. Richard felt his smile grow at the gesture, he was grateful that she was thinking of Aaliyah too, especially because he wanted to ask Vanessa out. 

“She’s gonna love it Nessa, thank you.” He whispers as he throws his arm over her shoulder, leading her to the register so they could check out. 

“So now that we have her gift, can we get cookies now?” She innocently asks, craving the soft and gingerbread cookies that were promised to her.  He still had an arm wrapped around her shoulders, an attempt to keep her close and warm. 

“Yes, and the hot chocolate.” He tells her as they walk over to Pimentel Bakery. Richard finally let Vanessa go to open the door to the bakery for her. 

“I’ll go find us a booth,” Vanessa whispers as she walks away to sit in a booth. Richard watches as she walks away, his eyes filled with silent affection for her. 

“Is that your girlfriend?” Gabriel asks as he watches the boy keep his eyes on the girl. 

“Nah man…I wish.” Richard whispers as he finally turns his attention to Gabriel. He looks over at the menu for a quick moment before deciding to get himself the same as Vanessa. 

“Can I get a box of gingerbread cookies and two hot chocolates,” Richard ordered. Gabriel quickly filled his order before an idea popped in his head, a good Christmas tradition that would bring Vanessa and Richard closer. 

The two of them sat in the booth, eating the warm cookies and drinking their hot chocolate as they talked. Sometimes the bakery would be filled with their laughter or playful banter, and it was amazing for both of them. Richard falling even more in love with the girl he worked with while Vanessa saw another side of Richard that was attracting her towards him. 

“Okay favorite Christmas movie?” Vanessa asks as she breaks her cookie to dip into the hot chocolate. 

“Elf. It’s hilarious and festive. How about you?” 

“Home Alone, I mean come on Kevin is a genius,” Vanessa explains as she continues to eat her cookies. 

“Hey Nessa, I got a question.”

“Shoot.” “Would you like to go ice skating with me…as my date?” Richard asks, reaching out to grab her hand in his. She felt the heat rush to her face as she heard the question, she wasn’t expecting him to ask but she did harbor feelings for the young man that sat across from her. 

“I would like that.” She answers and squeezes his hand. 

“You know, you’re cute when you blush.” He compliments which causes her to blush even more. 

“Should we get going?” She questions as she notices that it’s almost time for the bakery to close. 

“Yeah, let’s go.” He throws the empty box away along with the empty drink cups before intertwining his hand with hers. As they both stand in the doorway, they hear a familiar voice call out to them.

“Wait you guys can’t break tradition,” Gabriel tells them as he points towards the mistletoe dangling above them. They both look back at each other before smiling at each other. 

“Wouldn’t want to break our first tradition together huh?” Vanessa asks.

“That would be a bad idea,” Richard answers, his free arm snaking around her waist and pulling her body closer to his. His warm lips met hers as they kiss, a soft and slow kiss that was new to them both of them. And it would be the first of many.

“Merry Christmas.” They both say to each other in unison before laughing and walking through the town together, hands intertwined.
