I forgot I was making caramel at work. It’s a tad overcooked.

i’m seeing a lot of people reblogging suicide hotlines and this is just a reminder that this is a suicide help line that works like a text-based instant messenger for people who may need to talk to someone but have trouble/are uncomfortable making phone calls

“Think positive thoughts and positivity will come to you.”
The problem with this idea is that your mental illness - whether it’s anxiety, depression, bpd, or whatever - doesn’t care about how positively you try to think.
Coping with a mental illness is more than just positive thoughts. Positive thoughts won’t make your mental illness go away. Mental illness needs support, sometimes it needs treatment such as medication or counseling.
Positive thoughts are no more than reminders that you can do it. If youre feeling hopeless, like you’re bound to fail, a positive thought that says “I can do it” may keep you grounded in times of darkness.
People telling you to “just think positively” isn’t going to help. Don’t let anyone make you feel guilty if you can’t sum up positivity in the moment. A lack of positive thought will not make you a failure.
