Klavier Gavin Investigations concept!!!!
I’ve had this in my mind for a while. If you’ve also been following me for a long time, you’ll know that Leyna von Karma is an oc i wanted to use for my Ace Attorney: Athena Cykes concept, but I realized it made soooo much more sense for her to be Klavier’s weird girl instead.
I’m not sure what Klavier’s gimmick should be. I thought of maybe like— him playing his guitar to ‘control’ ppl’s emotions (calming them down) to get them into a state where he can ask questions and get testimonies? And it’s like some rhythm mini game as well.
But idk! Just ideas
Here are some comics under cut
#reblog outpost#ace attorney investigations#klavier gavin#OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD#THIS IS SO COOOOOOOOOOL#the rhythm game idea is actually kinda fun#multitasking reading a witness's remarks and strumming the guitar#and LEYNA#JESUS CHRIST LEYNA#I haven't really seen anyone else try to design Manfred's granddaughter but HERE WE ARE#and LEYNA IS SO#I. I have no words#MAKE THIS HAPPEN CAPCOM WE NEED KLAVIER GAVIN INVESTIGATIONS

It's the inverse for me: due to some early exposure, I managed to see several characters from both games early. I initially thought that some TGAA characters belonged to the crossover (PLvsPW)!
Off the top of my head, I can only think of Venus as an example, but there were more
Random silly fact nobody asked for, I haven't played any of the Professor Layton games (yet) but some of the Professor Layton character art is drawn so similarly to how TGAA's character art was done that sometimes I'll see a character from Professor Layton and get confused thinking I missed a character in TGAA (despite having played the entire TGAA duology to completion)
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#the great ace attorney#professor layton#I should probably also play PLvsPW

That also explains why it's named Taka, too!
Apparently takagari (Japanese falconry) was really popular with samurai, and that makes Simon's best friend being a hawk simultaneously a lot funnier and really cute. So dedicated to his samurai image that he has a hawk. I fucking love Simon Blackquill

Even the simplest truths can be locked behind the vilest lies.
Two-piece birthday gift for a friend. Still proud of how it came out, so I'm throwing it into here as well as a new contribution to the fandom

Not only would it be fun, it leaves some space open for any potential new mechanics!
On a lesser side-note, though, it also brings a potential new shout bubble into the mix: "Achtung!" or something along those lines as the equivalent of Edgeworth's "Eureka!"
Just something neat I thought I'd point out
I think we deserve another investigations game but this time Klavier-centric tbh. It'd be a really fun way to learn more about the Gavin bros I think (but also I think it'd be INCREDIBLY fun to play as Klavier)
#reblog outpost#ace attorney investigations#klavier gavin#it's also kinda fun thinking about the dynamics Klav would have with the characters#especially Kay

Would that mean Zak and Valant would have puppy eyes too? Or perhaps even Magnifi??
does this mean apollo canonically has puppy eyes
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#not even mentioning Thalassa because#well we already mentioned both of her kids

what if. ace attorney case where klavier gets accused of murder and the murder is eerily similar to the ones kristoph's committed. and apollo defends him because phoenix won't because kristoph (like phoenix doesnt have anything against klavier or at least claims not to, but the case reminds him too much of kristoph for him to be able to handle it). and its an exploration of the gavin bros' lore and what happened between phoenix and kristoph during the 7 year gap.
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#i might write this tbh. at the same time though id love it if an official ace attorney game took this concept and ran#<- DO IT DO IT DO IT DO IT#I might turn it into an actual playable case at some point honestly#lots of tools exist for that I think I can find a way#especially with ace attorney turnabout creator around the corner#ALSO i havent played dual destinies or spirit of justice yet and if thats obvious i apologize lmao#<- it's okay buddy the Gavins aren't nearly as involved in DD and SoJ#there's precisely one case where Klavier is somewhat relevant#not too sure if you needed to know that actually- AH WELL

I can't find it anywhere, if someone pulls a "technically the truth/exact words" on Apollo, does he react to it like he does with lies or someone being unsure of what they're saying? Like I'd assume not because he doesn't react when Phoenix refers to the locket he wears as "a locket" instead of his locket, but I can also see it being a circumstantial thing. Anyway is there anything in canon about this aside from Phoenix pulling an "exact words" and getting out of a perjury charge because of it in Turnabout Trump?
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#apollo justice#yeah that's fairly accurate I'd say#a common misconception is that Perceive is an outright lie detector#(which it's NOT)#in AJ it's explained that it works based on the witness themselves tensing up...#...because they're saying something against what they remember#and the habit sometimes comes from what they do remember#which is why Alita's tell is her toying with her scarf - it's connected to what happened that day#in any case though#this is accurate

Why did I almost immediately think Soggy (from Asogi)
What would Iris’s nickname for Kazuma be
#reblog outpost#the great ace attorney#I MEAN IT LINES UP RIGHT#aside from the fact that it takes from the surname instead of the given name#maybe Kazzy? I dunno#BUT SOGGY WORKS SO WELL

They do use mocap for some things in SoJ IIRC. The Dance of Devotion cutscene for Rayfa's Divination Seances, for instance
looking through the dual destinies and spirit of justice sprites really has me like "did ace attorney have a rough transition to 3d or do some of the sprite animations just not work in 3d like they do 2d"
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#I see what you mean though#Phoenix and Apollo's deskslams feel so off#maybe it's just the wind-up#which there is WAY too much of#I get that you're going for the classic snap effect but#DEAR GOD THAT'S TOO MUCH WINDUP FOR SOMETHING THAT'S MEANT TO BE SNAPPY#EDIT: the things that use mocap are mostly CUTSCENES anyway#I don't recall a single in-gameplay pose that uses mocap

...Huh. People tend to pronunce it as [les-trAH-d], and that's how I always said it... I guess that gives more reason toward [les-trAY-d]
Something I really want to know is whether or not Gina starting off as a pickpocket is a pun. I didn't know almost anything about Sherlock Holmes canon before playing TGAA (I think the most I knew was that Hound of the Baskervilles is a Sherlock Holmes story, leading me to get incredibly excited about any reference to it in the game, the first instance being the fifth case of the first game) so when I first saw Gina's full name, my brain was like "hold on, is her last name a joke about her being a pickpocket?" then I looked into it a bit more after getting her comment about "Inspector Lestrade" sounding like something out of a book.
That has me wondering if instead of her name being a pun on her previous occupation, her previous occupation is a pun on her name, because Lestrade looks like "let's trade" which is fitting for a pickpocket I think.

...I... think the more concerning fact here - to me, at least - is that YOU FINISHED TGAA IN A WEEK???
weird thing to think about, i haven't drawn since i started my first playthrough of tgaa which means it's been over a week since i last drew anything

nobody asked but TGAA is a game you could play just for the soundtrack and the soundtrack is actually one of the things that makes replaying it so appealing to me
#reblog outpost#ace attorney#the great ace attorney#so real for that#I made arrangements of some of the OST simply because It's That Good
