weird question, sorry if theres an explanation somewhere that we havent been able to find, lol. is this whole alter pack thing meant to imply like, people being able to deliberately form their own alters? we’re a did system and weve never really heard of alters forming any way other than involuntarily. we’re not calling it fake, weve just never encountered this concept before

(specifically used the word alter instead of headmate for clarity because we also dont know anything about headmates outside of did honestly)

so i'm gonna be completely honest, i don't really know how other people use these ^^; however, what i've heard from friends/mutuals is that yes, some plurals form alters/headmates voluntarily and use these to form them. sometimes, also, when an existing alter is fuzzy/having trouble forming, they can latch onto some of the details in the packs in order to become more fully formed. i hope this makes any sense at all, im sorry if im not the best at explaining!
