~ Mayday ~ The Rapture We start our new lives again.

I'd like to thank everyone who followed and took part in Mayday. I appreciate and value it from the bottom of my alien artist heart. <3 Also, let's give huge cheer for Ambrosia Nestler who acted Audrey like the queen she is! Such talent. ~ Mayday ~ Audrey felt the grip of death's hand once more. Once more? She knew it to be correct. She had felt this before. Experienced it before. She was certain. It was piecing together. Wait, why was she now wearing the mask? Audrey screamed but nothing came out. Do you understand yet?

~ Mayday ~ Suddenly, a darkness crept up behind Audrey. She felt the world shake. She felt a hand on her. She spun around to view the very thing she searched for. The thing that made her cry out loud. The thing that made her run, run for her life.

~ Mayday ~ Once in the portal Audrey felt a cold sensation. The world she knew on the other side was different to this one. This one was empty, old and more dilapidated. She searched around, looking in different parts of the Asylum, hoping to find out what the masked Audrey meant. She didn't come across anything... She didn't come across anyone, not even the masked creature. “What does this mean?” Audrey heard herself say for the 1000th time. Repeating herself seemed to be commonplace. A coincidence?

~ Mayday ~ This masked persona egged Audrey closer. It spoke in a whisper. Barely audible. Audrey had to get closer to hear. Upon closer inspection, Audrey realised it definitely was her in that mask. The voice sounded just as her own. It asked “Would you like to see what I see? Would you like to know the answers to your questions? Do you want to know the truth, Audrey? Step through the portal and you will find out everything!” Was this a good idea? Audrey thought. A with a quick glance behind her Audrey stepped through the doorway.

~ Mayday ~ One day Audrey decided to visit the Church again. She wished to see if God had some answers for her now. Along her journey she came across a large door frame. One which still led to the Church but contained some mysterious gas like substance swirling in-between the frames. Suddenly fingers appeared to crawl out of the gas. Audrey gasped. And standing there looking directed at her was, what she believed to be, herself.

~ Mayday ~ The world was beginning to break further. All of Audrey's questioning and observations were allowing those cracks to become more obvious. She recently came across a photograph of her having a conversation with a nurse... or so she thought.

~ Mayday ~ 'The Doc' as he was so favourable called, was not a favourable person. He was cold, clinical and maniacal. Audrey spent a lot of her days cleaning up the messes he made. She avidly remembers her first day, the blood made her puke. There was so much of it! “He's a ghoul! If there is anyone who needs a mental assessment it's him!” Audrey thought angrily to herself. “How in God's good name could he be allowed to practice using such inhumane methods. And, to think of it, I’ve never actually seen him”. Was 'The Doc' even real? Or maybe he was a scape goat to other horrors going on?

~ Mayday ~ The thought of her superiors making her a patient at the Asylum was enough to make Audrey fear for her life. She had seen the horrors. She knows what awaits her as one of them. Audrey began to spiral. “How can I make them believe I'm mentally sound again? I remember how the head nurse responded to me. She would have told 'The Doc' about me”. That very thought made Audrey cry with fear.

~ Mayday ~ Slowly walking back to the main building, Audrey felt down. “I need to keep my head high!” She announced to herself, “It's the only way. I wouldn't want to think what they will do to me if they knew I was feeling lost”. Her superiors were already suspicious of her mental state. She may yet become a patient if she kept questioning out-loud.

~ Mayday ~ Audrey decided her best course of action at this point was to speak to a higher power. Maybe God had an answer for her? And as Audrey sat patiently appeasing God in the ways of the Church she heard nothing but silence. God didn't answer her calls like he did previously. Audrey now felt truly alone.

~ Mayday ~ Everything was beginning to seem strange to Audrey as she went about her daily routine. Cracks were emerging as she seriously questioned her life at the Asylum. Just the other night she noticed the calendar flicker as the clock ticked over midnight. Was yesterday the same day as today? “Quite literally” she exhumed as she protested her findings to the head nurse. The head nurse simply looked stunned at her and beneath her breath stated “Maybe this place IS too much for you”. Audrey stood outside and wondered what that meant, 'too much for you', like was this something she may have said before? Was she cracking? Were all these disturbances around her really just her own mind? Or was it real? She scoffed at the idea. “I can't be as mad as the patients, I’ve always been of sound mind”. But as she clutched her Rosary, she began to loose faith in her own sanity.

~ Mayday ~ Audrey was a small town girl. Living and working at the local Asylum was just a way to make ends meet. She rarely stepped outside the grounds as everything was provided for her inside. “It's a pity this place has become so routine” Audrey sighed to herself while dragging her fingers along the Ha-ha wall. “ I have been here for so long now, I don't remember the last day that wasn't the same as before”. It made her think, how long had she been here?
