Hey, anon! Don’t worry, this isn’t weird at all. Liking an F/O who’s obsessive, a stalker or even morally dark doesn’t automatically make anyone “proship” in the broad sense. A lot of people enjoy that kind of fictional dynamic because it’s about the fantasy, the idea of being wanted or pursued intensely, rather than endorsing the behavior in real life.

Being “proship”, at least in most fandom communities, usually refers more to a mindset about fiction vs. reality and how you treat other fans. It’s about respecting that other people can enjoy content you personally don’t like, and not harassing them for it. It’s not just about which characters or dynamics you personally enjoy. So you can absolutely like darker or obsessive F/Os without it being a statement about how you feel about others’ content, or a morality indicator.

In short, your enjoyment of a certain type of F/O is normal and the “proship” label is more about how you interact with others around ships than the ships themselves. You’re not alone in liking intense or yandere-style dynamics, it’s actually more common than people realize!
