You don't need anything to practice witchcraft.

I see a lot of people say oh you need this specific tool that was made in a certain way, or this specific herb/ crystal and anything else just wont do, or trying to discredit someone else's craft for being creative and making do with what they have. Lets get one thing straight, no matter how many crystals/herbs or tools you have or even if you have none your craft is valid. The absolute only thing you need to practice and create change in this world is your energy and intent. Your energy, focus on your intent, voice and your visualization are the driving force behind your spells, and the most powerful tools you will ever use. If these skills are lacking its not going to matter if you spent 150$ dollars on crystals and herbs and expensive props. That being said you do not have to rule out using mundane items in your magic! Use that plastic make up mirror thats been banging around your purse for a year! Its embued with your energy, you've touched it and peered back at yourself through it. Close your eyes and visualize a pure pink light emerging from it (for as long or short as you wish, once proficient it will only take a moment or two) and Bam! You have a clensed and charged magickal tool thats ready to be used in self love and glamour spells. (This can be done as simply as peering into your refelction with the use of chants or affirmations or visualizing the glamour you want to use) Also try making a powerful grounding stone by going outside and digging one directly out of the earth! Any stone that has been nestled inside the earth is going to have a very strong grounding energy.

I've got a bit of track there but my point is think about the old ones who practied magick the very roots of witchcraft who often had to hide the fact didnt have showy crystal collections or a fully stocked witches cabinet or ornate tools. They simply did not have access to rock shops and metaphysical stores. They utalized what they had, that means the soup pot was a cauldron, the herbs in the kitchen were more than enough, the stone found by the creek was perfect,a needle and thread makes a perfect pendulum, and a fallen elder branch made a sacred wand. I think denying the use of mundane items and making simple tools with what you have takes the very magick out of life. Don't let your "lack" of tools, crystals or herbs stop you. Don't get me wrong they're great and fun to have but you just dont need them. Even if you use nothing but your mind you can create change in this world. Get creative utalize what you have and make your own tools. Your craft is valid. Just let the magick flow 💖

Milkweed

Milkweed is a tremendously underappreciated plant. It is directly linked with the monarch butterfly, who lay their eggs on the leaves of this plant and serves as the baby caterpillars ONLY food source! If we loose this plant we ultimately loose monarchs. Monarchs population have been severely reduced due to the destruction of this plant. Give back to mother earth by planting a patch of milkweed, its bound to attract some beautiful monarchs to your garden. Milkweed can be toxic to pets and humans. It poses the largest threat to grazing animals. Don’t let that turn you off, just be mindful of where you plant it, away from pastures, pets and small children. You can also research butterfly weed that is in the same family, but more visually appealing it may be growing in your garden already!

Milkweed gets its name from the greek god Asclepius of medicine and healing. As it is host to monarch butterflies and their babies and serves as not only the first home of the butterflies but also their food I find it closely associated with raising children, home, safety and that feminine nurturing aspect. Monarchs play a role in the celebration of the day of the dead when they migrate to mexico, and because they are believed to be the spirits of the dead. The monarchs have been showing up in decreasing numbers. As milkweed is toxic when the baby caterpillars eat it, it makes them toxic as well adding another level of the protection aspect.

A tea bag makes a great pendulum imbued with the properties of the tea inside it. Try lavender or rose tea for love related questions or green tea for healing. This Would also be great for communicating with spirits or dieties! That should give you something to ponder while you sip :)

Pendulum yes/no Questions 🕯

Pendulums can be used to get a wide array of answers for different things and there are many different beliefs surrounding what they should be used for. Personally I use them for predictions, communicating with pets and spirits, healing, wheater forecast, and just about anything else you can think of. You know what I crave? Quiet. Not just any quiet but the true stillness and quiet only found in nature. In today’s modern age our very homes hum with appliances and electricity. The sound of cars down the street, the neighbor mowing the lawn, dogs barking, are all noises that tend to fade into the background, unnoticed. The realization came to me after a breif power outage, everything in my home powered down like a grand machine, and then quiet. Nothing but the delicate, soothing sounds of birds singing outside my window. It was a truly serene moment. And then with a whoosh! Everything in my home powered back on, the hum of electricity rang in my ears marking the end of my serene moment. Sense then I have been actively seeking out spots in nature that are truly quiet, no nearby roads or buildings to pollute the air with their noise but somewhere where you can truly hear nothing but the birds. If you find such a place yourself take a moment to listen to what the earth truly sounds like.
