I don’t see many people talk about the parallels between In-ho and Gi-hun before and after winning their respective games, so I need to yap about these old men!!

I think In-ho’s story about his wife being ill and him playing the games to then use the prize money to pay for her surgery was the case when he played back in 2015. I’m pretty sure that by the time he won his wife had already passed away because surely he would’ve used all that money to save her and his unborn child. And if that’s the case, that’s pretty much what happened to Gi-hun with his mom. Gi-hun in s1 was able to leave the games per the vote, but he came right back because of his mom’s treatment costs. They both were gamblers in hot water with a loved one(s) in need of expensive treatment. But they go wildly different paths!

Also! They’re both neglecting the loved ones in their lives who are still around- instead being caught up with the games!! Gi-hun was there about to get on the plane to be with his daughter, but once again turns around to “stop the games.” In-ho has a mom and brother who care about him deeply, but mans is busy managing the said games. I hope in s3 we get more into the head of In-ho because we already know how winning affected Gi-hun and how he views the system as a whole, so I want to know where they diverged and went into completely different directions despite their parallels!

Seeing as they have extensive files on the players it makes sense that if In-ho noticed how similar they are/were, he’d stare him down like a scientist observing a lab rat. Cue that one Barbie song that’s like “I’m just youuuu you’re just meee”
