her name has no translation as far as i can find historically. camise is the first wife of Janus, the roman god of doorways, she and Janus had many children together and that is all that is really known of her. following the myth of Janus being human and ruling Latium, Camise greeted him and the couple were married - however in some mythos Camise is interpreted as a man, some even conflate her with the group of goddesses known as the Casmenae, however beliefs vary. after her death Janus moved on and married the nymph goddess Juturna, nymph goddess Venilia, and in some mythos the lunar goddess Jana as well.

the rest of this is upg, how i view her and my experience thus far in our relationship and my worshipping of her. to me Camise is a mortal who was then later reunited with her love who was deified { thus making her deified as well }. Camise embodies and domains music, motherhood, kindness, patience, wrath, abundance, loyalty, gentleness, and compassion. Camise is a goddess of patience, through death she waited for her love and waited for him to return to her. she was the goddess who waited. she is gentle, kind, and loving - she cares deeply for her husband and even loves his other wives and was happy they were there when she wasn’t.
