     “Well, then you would be mistaken, sir,” she replied, her tone sounding a bit stern despite her honest curiosity. In her desire to seem proper, to curb her enthusiasm, she always seemed angry. “A kingdom? Then you are nobility? Of where?” Perhaps she was asking too many questions. She stopped there.

The tone of his voice was lowered, but anger could still be heard. This person maybe wanted to see Lazarus dead, but... his child-like ways of being started to appear as he slowly approached the sleeping evangelist.

          He wasn’t going to tell her what he came here for, because he’d be sounding like a madman. A bonfire linked to the flame. A flame that was a source of health, regeneration and power. This town seemed to fear fire more than ever, and it wasn’t helpful that the small sparks coming from his hands were getting brighter by the minute.

     Ann blinked. Just like that? She’d almost given up hope that it’d be just that simple to leave the forsaken dream. She lowered her hands to her sides and leaned gently upon her cane. Her gaze was focused upon his face, seeking out the lie she felt should have been there. 

     “What is it that you require?” she asked, intrigued. Her mind was still brimming with questions, though she’d suffice with the one for now.

            ❛ Izalith was the city of pyromancers. The Witch of Izalith, or the mother of pyromancy lived there and protected it with her life. ❜ Quite literally. She attempted to remake the First Flame and with that, demons of varying shapes and sizes were born, thus turning the town and every town around it a living place for the demons.

            Now, was Lazarus bound to tell this man that he was a pyromancer?

            ❛ I was quite the known knight there. Sadly, I lacked the pyromancy everyone else had. Oh, may I travel with you? ❜

“Huh.” Being in Yharnam taught one not to immediately dismiss strange concepts as being fake, but the made-up sounding name combined with the made-up sounding excuse as to why he couldn’t see the place gave Ansel doubt.

That didn’t mean he had to be rude, however.

“Indulge away.” he said. “Although I really must be finding my way back to Yharnam soon. I had an- ah- appointment.”

            ❛ Hmph. Curiosity may offer you death. ❜ He scanned the other. Her attire, her weapon. Such different things from what he used. She was from around this city and, by what she said, she wants to get out of it. He has found some exits around the city, but he was hoping that she was okay with climbing, since he did quite a lot of that to get from Irithyll to Yharnam. But there was still a few things on his mind. Why was there no bonfires around? Was this town cursed? Oolacile was a cursed town, but it had it’s bonfires.

            The knight moved his sword back to his side, seeing that the other had no intentions of fighting. Good. He would only kill monsters or hollowed people, and she didn’t look like both of those things, so her life would be spared.

           ❛ if you seek the exit, follow me. i was headed out, anyways. i require something your town has none of. ❜

     “Curiosity,” she responded honestly, believing it to be best in this situation. She raised both hands in defense, her cane held loosely in her right. Perhaps she could catch him off guard with it, if she was required to. “I wanted t’ know who you are. You don’t seem to be from around here, and I was wonderin’… if you might know a way out. Can’t quite remember, m’self. All I remember is this nightmare.”

     She glanced at the sword in her face and swallowed nervously. If he was a Hunter or a man of the Church, he could be a problem. She should act fast. Every muscle in her body begged her to. But she held firm.

     “Now… could you please lower that? If I wanted t’ kill you, I wouldn’t be chattin’ up a storm, now.”
