HIS REASON|| lando norris x fem!secret girlfriend!reader

Summary: The behind the scenes that Lando, Formula 1 and Mclaren didn’t allow in Drive to Survive

warnings: DTS, no use of y/n, random time skips, potentially all wrong layout, fluff for the fact i’m lonely, not following exactly any season or the races, Layla is readers name.

FIRST SIGHTING; BTS released after the first episode

Lando was walking through the tunnel with the camera following him, his suit tied around his waist as he walked with the purpose of finding someone. His shoulders perked up a little as a women who was holding his jackets he was wearing when he walked in ran up and he spun her around.

His smile now visible as he kissed her cheek softly, her eyes wide with admiration. “how’d i do?” he asked, the mic only just picking it up, she nodded back and mumble something to him that didn’t quite make it through the mic.

Lando hadn’t realised they were still filming nor following him as he held her cheeks softly and pressed a gentle, held for a while, kiss to her forehead and pulled away just to admire as his hands stayed on her face. His arms suddenly moved to be around her waist and he held her close while hers wrapped around his back.

The two just standing as he placed gentle kisses to her head and mumbled things unrecognisable to the mic or the people actually there. His eyes where softer, his body language more relaxed as he held her. His whole world had finally stopped spinning rapidly just for the few moments he had her right in his arms for him and only him.

His eyes glanced up as Oscar walked in and smiled at him and gave the girl a hug when she pulled away before she went back to standing next to Lando, his arm falling to hold her waist like second nature. “team meeting in 20” Oscar reported and nodded at the girl clearly a signal for something to which she smiled up at Lando.

“thanks mate” Lando spoke before moving his arm to pat his friends shoulder and then gently placed his hand against her lower back and started to lead her further back the way she came with him holding her close. Oscar walking past the cameras and then following him before turning back to Lando only for him to be gone and the cameras cut before anything eles.

WALK IN; released a day before the second episode

Lando had scanned his pass and turned to slowly walk backwards as the same girl followed through and walked to link arms with him. There hands also linking as he walked slightly infront and led her through the mass of cameras.

Paparazzi and fans all getting photos or videos while DTS walked backwards getting the full walk as people yelled out questions or just yelled in exitement. Lando waved at someone before looking back and gave her a smile that she returned and took a few quick steps, jog like, to walk in the same line as him.

“people love you” he whispered to her, causing her to let out a small giggle and blush before shaking her head like he was lying “ask them. sure they’d tell you the truth” He shrugged and tugged her closer as his arm went around her shoulders tucking her into his side.

His steps slowed down a little and he moved her infront to be able to walk through the crowd of people wanting him to sigh things or get photos that he tried to keep up with while also not letting his hands wander from her for more then a few seconds. His eyes constantly glancing at her making sure she was still near with a big smile on his face everytime he confirmed she hadn’t left.

Zak walking out of Mclaren’s building and waving him over which he nodded and looked at the girl who smiled and his hand instantly held her back. Him walking while guiding her over to Zak who gave Lando a firm pat on the back and a hand shake to the girl before walking behind, cutting the cameras from seeing anything as the doors closed behind him.

THE PODIUM KISS; Landon’s first win of the season

He was .2 seconds infront of Oscar. Mclaren telling him to keep going as Max was catching up, his team yelling at him to go faster. Lando almost at the finish line, Oscar right behind being told not to overtake, Max trying to get closer and overtake one of them.

The checked flag was seen by Lando as he crossed the finish line, everyone screaming in joy, Oscar right behind and Max a few seconds later. Lando let out a yell into the headset of pure joy as the Mclaren garage erupted in cheers. Lando girlfriend standing and cheering with the rest of his team with her own headset on.

He pulled to the markers that gave away his position as his team has ran to the fence and cheered as Oscar getting P2 and Lando getting P1 after starting in P6. Both Mclaren boys getting out as more people cheered and Max getting out of his own car to congratulate them, still proud that they made him fight for P3.

Lando ran to his team after and launched as they all cheered and hugged his team who patted him on the back and let out yells of joy. Oscar standing near and still celebrating his team mate while simultaneously upset that he didn’t get P1. Lando stood infront of his team as Zak held his face and nodded before wiping his face, he turned to move to the side as Landon’s eye met his girlfriends.

He arms instantly pulled her in and lifted her, her arms around his waist before Zak lifted her legs to go over the barricade, letting Lando spin his girlfriend around as the fans cheered even more. The cameras picking up the security who look less than happy but him having his girlfriend over the barricade.

“you did it” she whispered to him while holding his helmet and he nods into her hands “you did it Lan” She repeats again and to him that’s when it fully hit him, he had got P1 after being P5 or P6 the whole season. His arms pulled her closer again as his eyes filled with tears while hugging her closer.

He pulled his face away, helmet still on his head before he spoke “we did it! WE” he declared as his visor was lifted and he looked at her with teary eyes before bumping her nose gently with his helmet and placing her down on the ground, arm still attached to her hip as he cheered with his team who shook his free shoulder and hand.

The podium was an explosion of Lando constantly looking down at her, him smiling with Oscar, doing his signature champaign celebration and then running down to kiss his girlfriend as the crowd and grid erupted in cheers while he lifted her off the ground like the trophy he ever needed in his life.

she was, she is, she always will be.

THE LOOK; the quick glance Lando does before every race

If you asked anyone the mclaren team the first time they noticed that Lando had really fallen it would be the time he looked her in the eyes and put his helmet on. The last thing before he would get in the car would be to get a kiss from his girlfriend right where he mouth would be “good luck” he always called it.

Netflix has tried to get a clip of this but it was almost impossible cause they could barely ever find him without her here, so as they ventured around they eventually gave up and just wanted to wait until he got into his car to get that clip.

All drivers were being ushered to their cars and Mclaren’s admin and mechanics where trying to force Lando into his car only for him to quickly stand up and push someone so his girlfriend get through and give his helmet a kiss and then he happily sat in his seat.

Netflix got the way she has been standing just behind a thin wall, not wanting to get in the way of their work, seen the way he gently reached out for her and held her waist when she pressed the kiss ever so gently on the helmet, the little tap on he side before he let her go but still kept his eye on her as everyone walked away from the car.

“for luck” that was all anyone ever got if they questioned and that was the exact response he gave in the interview later after the race “She’s my luck” he described with a small, content smile on his face before walking away to another interviewer who wanted to ask about the car, driving and the laps.

Oscar ended up in the same interview and stood next to Lando with a very similar expression until Lando’s eyes wandered around as Oscar answered a question and spotted his girlfriend who he instantly waved at like a kid and smiled big before turning back to the interviewer and Oscar that were both watching him “sorry. had to say hi” he spoke proudly.

The interviewer panned the camera over to the girl who was standing with the rest of Mclaren admin before she turned around and hid her face getting a laugh out of both Mclaren drivers “guessing she doesn’t like the camera that much?” the interviewer asked as the camera moved back to them “nah” Lando grinned and glanced back over again.

THE HOLDING; after his third loss in a row

Lando had come 4th again. Mclaren kept telling him to let Oscar overtake and he had no choice but to listen. He had given up his podium position for the third time. The moment he pulled up he got out, walking past Oscar with his helmet still on and gave him a pat on the back as he was in an interview.

Oscar turned and gave him a smile while Lando kept going, DTS cameras following after him from a little distance. He kept walking while taking his helmet off with his Engineer standing next to him and tried to talk to him only to be ignored. His eyes focused on the wall infront of him and didn’t even spare a glance in any direction.

Zak had started to walk over to congratulate Lando only for him to storm off down the hallway and leave a concerned Zak and engineer who both had no idea where he was going as the cameras followed after him in a quicker pace now. Lando weaved through people in the hallway, ignoring them with anger in his eyes.

He eventually slowed down his steps when he saw his girlfriend at the end of the hall, the cameras focusing on his shoulders dropping as he started to walk at a more normal pace until he was standing infront of her and instantly wrapped his arms around her waist.

Similar to her first sighting but this time with a little more desperation to be holding her, his hands wrapped her waist as he leaned his whole body down to slot his face in her shoulder, her arms around his neck and scratching his scalp while muttering words to him, that the camera didn’t get, in a hushed whisper.

He nodded after a little and pulled his face back to look at her, his hair looking a little crazy, his eyes looking a little hollow but still in love with everything about her. He leaned down and kissed her forehead and then placed his head against hers as he mumbled something to her.

DTS cameras started to leave as the background noise picked up and they wanted to capture more interesting things, Lando and his girlfriend left in the hallway for a few seconds before he pulled away to look at her “your the only thing i need to be happy” he spoke firmly, the camera picking it up just before they turned the corner.

THE DAY: the name reveal accident (not by Lando)

All of Mclaren were standing out the front of their garage, Zak treating it like a boot camp of positive compliment. Everyone giving him nods and laughs in response while a group of people stood behind him, DTS cameras filming from a little away.

Lando turned and looked at Oscar as both drivers laughed at the words Zak was saying, Andrea was standing behind Zak shaking his head as he laughed to himself, all the engineers were wheezing a little behind both drivers.

Oscar placed a hand over his mouth trying to stop himself from laughing as everyone was dismissed to go and do whatever for a little before the next meeting on tyre strategies and all the (not) fun stuff, Lando and Oscar walking next to each other over to Lando’s girlfriend and Lily who were talking to each other.

“Layla please stop stealing my girlfriend” Oscar yells over to the girls who instantly spin around with panicked eyed as Oscars face drops and Lando blinks rapidly while looking between Oscar, his girlfriend and the DTS camera thats zoomed in on them.

Oscar brings his hands up and push his hair out of his face while standing frozen in his spot, Lando walking to his girlfriend and turning her back to the cameras to talk to her “you okay with this?” he asks while holding eye contact in a very serious matter “please say your still okay with this cause i really want you to be okay with this”

Lando begs as his hands hover over her waist, just barely touching her while his fingers twitch trying to get closer to her “it’ll be fine” she promises him and nods while bring her arms to wrap around his neck, his head falling into her shoulder “we’ll be fine”.

Lando nod against her neck and pulls away with a silly little Lando like grin that is only directed to her, his eyes softening and his hands moving to the back of her head to press his forehead to hers before kissing her quickly and then pulling away while she just smiles at him, slightly blush on her cheek.

Oscar and Lily walking over, Oscar looking like a kicked puppy and apologising as Layla just shook her head at him in a fake disappointed way before giggling a little to Lily who joined her in the comedy of Oscar being upset.

Lando walked into the paddock, head held high, paddock pass in his hand before he slowed his steps a little and turned to face his girlfriend who was walking in behind him.

Her pass around her neck over the mclaren jumper that has Lando’s name and number on the back, her hair off her neck and the sleeves covering her hands a little until she pulls one up as Lando’s hand reaches for hers to be in his.

He pulls her closer and gives a small smile directed at her and only her as she frowns at him before holding her camera up and catching the paddock right before he jumps in and photos bombs the picture.

“missed it” you giggle a little and show him the photo that only has a small blur on the very edge of his hand clearly trying to fully enter the photo “i’ll get it one day” he mumbles and points a finger before wrapping his arm back around her shoulder and pulling her with him.

VIDEOS CLIPPED; fan faviourite moments

CLIP 1;

Lando opened the door as Ginge and Ethan stopped at the door, camera man following behind them and capturing his welcoming smile and them walking into the apartment.

As the door was closed by Ginge while they all followed after Lando into the kitchen that was towards the back of the apartment, he waved into a room and slowed down to close the door enough that he had his head through the crack and held a small conversation before gently closing the door.

“sorry, back to the video” he continued down the hallway, “you dirty bastard” Ginge muttered when the camera turned back to face him “you have a hookup while knowing about us filming a video for YOUR channel” he continued while entering the kitchen.

Lando ducked his head a little while smiling “one… not a hookup, she’s my girlfriend. suprise.” Lando started while looking at the camera “two… time for breakfast” he opened the fridge and waved a hand infront of the shelf that had pre-made breakfast ignoring the complaints from both men.

CLIP 2;

“i’ve got some bands…” Lando moves his hand to make the motion before dropping his hands “i think they might be in my bedroom” he mumbles while walking out and down the hall as both Ginge and Ethan looked at eachother before the camera with slight disgust “that dirty bastard” Ginge speaks loud enough that Lando laughs as he walks in.

Another giggle following as she pokes her head in “your funny” she speaks before running away back down the hall, Ginge pointing at her in shock while Ethan laughs heavily “no way!” Ginge yells as Lando holds his hands out to try and shush him a little “no way. your really a dirty bastard” Ginge point as Lando laughs and pats his shoulder a little.

CLIP 3;

Lando stood resting his arm on the bar and looking at the two on the ground doing the workout he told them to do “you dirty bastard” Ginge repeated again and sat up, looking at Lando through the mirror that was rested on the floor as Lando filled over in laughter “i wondered why your were looking past us. i was like my eyes are up here buddy” Ethan joked and made the motion to his eyes.

“i was looking at the wall” Lando defended as Ginge and Ethan shook there heads “why even is there a mirror here?” Ethan questions and pulls a little pose cause Ginge to laugh at him “girlfriend wanted it. she takes photos of herself it in time to time. it’s going to go on the wall at some point” Lando mentions and points up the wall that has the markings for it to be hung.

Ginge nods and lets out a suspicious hum “it’s a nice mirror.” Ethan comments on it “she has good style” he finishes his comment by moving to stand up awkwardly “she’s the reason my place has anything more than racing and training things and also a single chair” Lando huffs out a laugh.

CLIP 4;

Lunch was placed on the table, Lando sitting on his own side while Ethan and Ginge sat next to eachother and judged the food as Lando stared up at his girlfriend with a hand on her lower back, the cameraman keeping her face out of it “lunch is served by Lando’s trainer” she comments and places a hand on the back of Lando’s head.

“do you guys even own a micro-wave?” Ethan asks as he looks at the food and picks at it with his fork “just eat” Lando mumble while getting some food on his fork and taking a bite with a small grin on his face as his thumb moves a little over her hip before she taps his hand and he drops it for her to walk away.

the camera man capturing his small frown before he goes back to eating and ignoring the other two who are asking questions about the food they were given “you pay money for this?” Ginge asks and points to the bowl with his fork “to be healthy? yeah” he nod and smirks a little as both boys look at him shocked.

He smirks a little before looking away and showing the camera cause a few little screams from behind the camera “no comment” he claims while refusing to look in the direction of the camera “also thought you guys made these, wouldn’t you know what the boards say?” he asks and tilts his head a little.

“our manager made these and told us to go through them. clearly no one did” One person says and he smirks and nods “chiaramente” his accent slightly thinker now as he turns to face the camera.

His face slightly flushed but still holding his smirk before he places the board down, “no comment on that. you do what this information as you will” he says very professional and turns to pile next to him.

He nods before placing the board down and picking up the next one. His eyes going a little wide before they close:

“non negherò più nemmeno queste cose” His head slug forward as he turns to show the camera, his eyes slightly panicked at the reactions from the behind the camera “YEAH KIMI” George yells in excitement only for a small ‘ow’ to sound not to long after while Kimi tries to smile and not laugh

He looks at the board again before back at the camera and shrugging “i have a life outside of racing. i don’t know what to say” he says, before smirking and tilting his mouth to be closer to the mic “la mia ragazza è facile da accendere”

“what did you say for people who don’t know the translation?” someone asks from behind the camera and he just shakes his head “learn italian” he smirks at the camera and places the board down on the stack.

His hands moving to the pile of unread ones next to him as he smiles at the camera innocently with a small amount of blush coating his cheeks like he’s a little kid who can’t stop smiling after getting a picture taken.

Kimi continued to laugh a little as he placed the board down and reached for the next one:

His cheeks reddened and he pouted at the camera before shaking his head and turning the message to the camera, he put on a small smile and shrugged “yep” his words came out a little quick but still panicked “if my girlfriend is watching this… you can tell me what to do” he clarifies and winks at the camera before blinking a few times like he only had something in his eye and then placing the board down.

Kimi looks at it and shakes his head before flipping it to the camera, not even trying to defend himself as he places his forehead on the card "¿Puedo saltarme esto?" he questions as a few staff laugh at him from behind the camera.

He lowers the card and laughs a little along with them, trying to act like his cheeks weren’t covered in pink and he wasn’t running his hands through his hair to try and act casual while silently spiralling inside.

Kimi was holding his phone in one hand, his other was mindlessly tugging on his girlfriend’s hair. Her breathing even against him as her arms held him tightly but still loosely with her eyes closed.

He didn’t mind this feeling, his eyes focused on his phone but any little twitch from the blonde against his stomach made his nails go back to the gentle movement against her scalp and his eyes would flicker to her to make sure she was okay.

Ollie’s name appeared at the top of his screen and he answered to be met with Ollie’s face staring back at him “stai bene?” (you good?) he asked softly and his eyes quickly moved to make sure she was still sleeping peacefully.

“you, your girlfriend and me” he starts as he moves around his bedroom in his parents house “this small little restaurant tonight for dinner before the chaos of a triple header weekend. what you think?” Ollie explains while using both hands to paint a picture.

Kimi only nods along with him before letting out a small sigh “uh…” he lets out before feeling the girl squeeze his waist a little tighter and he lashes flutter against his bare stomach “one moment” he speaks and places his phone down to face the ceiling on the bedside table as he gives his girlfriend full attention.

She blinks at him as a small smile graces her face “what Oliver want now?” she asks and rubs her eyes while moving to sit on the knees and stretching a little, Ollie asking a hundred questions from the phone that Kimi had abandoned the moment she woke up

“wants to take us to dinner before the stress of the triple header” he explains and pushes some hair from her face, letting his hand rest on her cheek to gently smooth his thumb over them “you wanna go?” his voice is barely above a whisper but she hears him loud and clear

she nods back to him once before falling forward against his shoulder and places a gentle kiss on it “only if you want to” she suggests while tilting her head to look up at him with tired eyes and lets out a small yawn, Kimi reaching for his phone to answer Ollie.

“yeah. we’ll go” he answers back as if the boy hadn’t been asking hundreds of questions between the time Kimi placed his phone down and when he finally answered again “can we have an early dinner though? want to get sleep” the Italian suggests while glancing down at his girlfriend when he talks who’s already half asleep again.

Ollie lets out a small nod before starting to rant about the place he’s taking them to, mentioning everything about it, and also how he’ll pick them up around 5 so they can get dinner slightly before 6 and still have time to chat while eating.

Kimi bids goodbye to Ollie with a small wave and “a dopo, cavalla” (see you later. mate) before his phone is placed down once again and he’s pulling his girlfriend up to be facing him fully “early dinner. more time to sleep” his eyes are gentle as well as his hands that are running up and down her sides.

2:50pm, the final couple minutes of another boring lesson, yet the final lesson of the day. The teacher was half asleep while making the class pay attention to the documentary put on. Ivy sat in the back row, laptop open but the screen dimmed to not disturb anyone.

Messaged was open and she was messaging Kimi who was literally in the classroom over getting given free time. He probably should have been studying and catching up on math but to him messaging his girlfriend was more important. it was.

‘i’m driving you home, yeah?’ he sent through and Ivy looked up to make sure the teacher wasn’t looking before typing ‘it’s all good. I can catch the bus’ her reply makes immediate typing bubbles from him only for them to dissapear and re-appear a few seconds later ‘no’.

Kimi sent back with a small pouty face next to it ‘i’m dropping you home, and then i’ll pick you up tomorrow morning and drop you home again that afternoon’ he type quickly back causing a small content smile to grace Ivy’s face ‘and i’ll be doing this every day, darling’

Ivy just shakes her head before glancing at the time, 2:55, the final 5 minutes of class that feel like they take years to be done yet the teacher tells them it’s time to pack up and people slowly stand and start to pack up their desks.

Most people only a had book but some of the people, front row, had a book, pen, laptop, and about hundred other things laying on their desk. Ivy quickly set the final text ‘see you soon then, if i don’t catch the bus first’.

Yet she knew, she’d walk out of class and he’d be standing there waiting for her. Even if she managed to leave before the bell he was always standing right there, waiting for her. No matter if he wasn’t even at school that day.

People knew he was an F1 driver, of course they did. People tried to get photos with him but during the off season when he came to school consistently most kids left him alone to just do whatever he pleased. Fans still trying to get photos of him with his girlfriend but only getting him walking her to class and then standing there for a few seconds looking like a kicked puppy before leaving.

2:59, The bell about to go, kids all stood at the door as the teacher yelled at them to get back behind their desk as if they were scary and didn’t have a giant line down the side of their face from the nap they had taken during the lesson. Ivy had her bag over her shoulder and holding her phone in her other hand away from the teachers eye sight.

3:00, the bell rang and kids all walked out, as expected Kimi was already standing their for her and she gave him a soft smile and he wrapped an arm around her shoulder and started to walk with her. Ivy’s arm subconsciously moving to rest around his back through his bag.

“how was your lesson?” he questioned while looking down slightly at her but still pulling her along through the hall and around students that seemed to take up the whole space “it was fine. didn’t have actually work to do. yours?” her words came out slightly muffled from the amount of noise of other kids yelling at friends and a few just yelling for the sake of yelling.

Kimi still nodded at her, “had a free period of catch up” he explained before shoving the door open with one hand and walking her now out into the front of the school “didn’t do any work through. had important things to do” he whispered while leaning down to her ear and kept walking with her around the school.

Heading towards the teachers car park, his car was parked around there due to kids not always having the best driving tendencies and his car being quite a lot of money for a kid who only drives it during the off season. “kimi… you should have been doing work” Ivy complains while trying to walk quicker to catch up with him.

Kimi just lets out a little huff of a laugh as he nears his car and unlocks it, walking with her around the the passenger seat “your throne” he joked as he opened the door and waved a hand at the seat that no one else ever sat in “it’s a seat Kimi. It’s not mine” you giggled to him but still made a move to sit down as he held his heart in fake offence.

“that’s a downright lie. This car may be mine but the seat… all yours” he spoke clearly before shutting the door and not letting her let out another complaint as he walked around to the drivers side and opened the door to get in “don’t want to hear anything eles on that subject” he continued like it was a horrible thing that should be banned in all countries.

Ivy laughed while placing her bag at her feet and him placing his next to hers, her feet slightly tucked under her as they both just sat their with the car not even on “your allowed other people to sit here. what about your sister? or Ollie?” She tried to bargain, getting a head shake for everything “they aren’t you. therefore not allowed to sit in YOUR seat” he exaggerates his words causing Ivy to roll her eyes at him.

“you know i wouldn’t even let my mum sit in the passenger seat” he continues listing people while starting the car “or my trainer, my team manager, my manager. definitely not George” He laughs a little as he starts to drive out and towards the front gates, kids still slowly walking and a few getting photos of Kimi driving “definitely none of these people” Ivy laughs a little before hiding her face in the hands as she continues to laugh.

Kimi turns to face her a second while still driving and smile softly before continuing to drive out of the school gates and start to driver her home, more like his house cause it’s a Friday and he decided she was coming back to his for family dinner that his mum always hosted.

“Kimi… you turned the wrong way” she reminded him when he turned left instead of right at the turn off “oops. guess your staying at my place for dinner then” he spoke like it was the only option that was available “you could still turn around” she rolls her eyes knowing he’s made up his mind about her staying “my mum loves you and it’s been my first full week back from the season. i just want to have dinner with my family and my passenger princess girlfriend”

Kimi smiles as he turns into his street while Ivy shakes her head with a small layer of blush on her cheeks “i think i should go a get my license just so i can drive myself home” she jokes to him, knowing how many times he’s begged her not to get it cause he wants to drive her around “your not doing that” he states clearly to her as the car pulls up in the driver way and turns off “your not allowed to”.

Ivy looks over at Kimi and grabs his hand softly “if i got my license you could be my passenger princess” she tries to bargain with him while her face holds a small gentle smile “nope. won’t be having it” he shakes his head aggressively “you deserve everything to be handed to you on a silver platter and everyone to run under your command” his words come out before he leans over and kiss her softly but also with pure passion.

“end of story. Mum’s waiting” he says casually when he pulls away leaving Ivy to blink at him with flushed cheeks and then watch him get out of the car walking around to her side and opening the door, his hand held out to help her out which her fingers gladly slip into and thread through his while standing and going to grab her bag only for him to already be grabbing both and chucking hers over his shoulder while his is being held by his side.

George and Kimi, both announced, walked onto the stage as people screamed and jumped around while they waved and held their mics to do the pre-race interview. The interviewer clapped and welcomed them as both slowed down to stand near.

“so, welcome” He started and the crowd went wild yet again causing both to give eachother a small smile and give the crowd a small wave “clearly everyone is happy to see you two” The interviewer spoke as the crowd died down a little.

The interviewer glanced at the crowd for a second and then back at the two Mercedes drivers “how have you two been in your off season? you guys excited to be back?” he asked and the crowd gave another round of cheers before George spoke up.

“I know I'm excited to be here. Happy to be back after getting to rest and recover” He gave everyone a smile as he laughed a little and turned to Kimi “Kimi… not so much” He threw his teammate under the bus as he smiled and gave a small laugh.

He shook his head while the crowd laughed along with him “I did miss this, yes. I also left my girlfriend back home cause she couldn’t be here for the first couple races due to her still being in school” He explained and everyone screamed in excitement.

“Girlfriend? Quite the upgrade from every other season where people thought you’d be single forever” The interviewer joked over the yelling and the people cheering “what’s this girl's name? Will we be seeing her at further races?” His voice carried through the crowd.

Kimi gave another laugh as he nodded “Her name is Ivy, and I hope so. her school goes on break in 2 weeks so she might be here. Voglio davvero mostrarle la mia vita (I really want to show her around my life)” He smiles and looks genuinely happy talking about her before George places a hand on Kimi’s shoulder.

“He's in love, guys. look out” He jokes and everyone laughs before the interviewer says goodbye and they wave as they walk off stage. Passing their mics into the crew standing there for the next team to take for their interview.

Kimi is still smiling slightly as George laughs at him “you're so in love kid” he mutters to him before reviving a small shove from Kimi who gives a small glare and shakes his head “you are. your eyes lit up at the first opportunity to talk about her” He teases him again before taking a step away so he doesn’t get shoved.

The previous interview ended up being the thing everyone spoke about, any interview Kimi was doing always had a few questions thrown in about his girlfriend that no one believed.

He understood why, with her account being private and him only having posted her a few times on his story whenever he was allowed a little on his own page as his team managed it back when he was still in media training days.

Another interviewer had spoken up to Kimi in specific while a lot of the other drivers turned to face him “Kimi is your girlfriend actually going to be attending your home race?” His words came out clear and Kimi let out a sigh while still nodding to his question “I hope, My home race isn’t her home race though so her school might need her back”.

“Well, what's her home race then? And will she be attending that one?” Another one asks and every driver laughs a little, knowing that they probably just want to actually find out more information about the girl barely anyone has ever seen or heard of right before this season “United States GP is her home race, she lives in Austin. So for her that's her home race” Kimi explains with a calm voice trying to explain it as clearly as possible

Lando raises his hand like he's in a class room and Kimi laughs before nodding “how'd you meet her? You know with you living not it Austin” he tries in his best Texan accent causing a few laughs in the word while others remain focused on the question “back when i was F3 and we were invited to join the race weekend, i was there and i met her through her older brother who was really shocked to see a bunch of F3 and F2 people walking in the paddock”

It was about 3 days since the last interview that had all slowly become about finding out who this mystery girl was. They knew her name, where her home race was, but not much else. They tried to pry to get answers but Kimi wouldn’t budge despite his urge to talk about her to everyone. He was pacing in the Mercedes garage as his eyes casted to his photo every few steps.

“Kimi! Kimi!” An interviewer yelled as they walked towards him with a camera and a mic held to their mouth. Kimi turned and gave them a smile before looking at his phone and then tucked it away behind him. “Kimi, you look like you’re in a little bit of a panic. Is everything okay?” they ask brig holding the mic out to him for him to respond.

Kimi shakes his head and looks behind him at the entry gate to the pit crew section “Y-yeah. sorry. Just waiting” He responds with a small smile before his phone starts to ring and he instantly pulls it out and smiles as he excuses himself to answer. “Bella?” he mumbles into the phone as his eyes soften at whoever is on the other line.

“I'll make my way over now.” He grins and turns to find Toto and starts to walk over, pushing the speaker part of his phone away from his mouth “i just need to go and give Ivy her pass.” he says and Toto nods while handing it to him. “i want to meet her” The man says and Kimi nods before walking quickly away.

Kimi moves the phone to his other ear while walking “Start making your way to the gate and i’ll be on the other side to hand it to you” He promises while walking and smiles even more at whatever was said on the other end. He puts his phone down and breaks into a small sprint through people and other teams who give confused looks.

He waits at the gates and bounces on his heels while the security look a little puzzled at what he’s waiting for until a slightly shorter girl with her hair about shoulder length and messy but it suits her walks through while looking slightly nervous. Kimi’s eyes focus entirely on her as his face softens as she walks closer and he hands her the pass and takes a little step back.

He really tried to be patient but it had been 2 weeks of only late night/early morning calls, texts that took a little to respond to, facetimes when he had a few minutes. He just wanted to hug her but he was trying to wait. The moment her feet stepped through he grabbed her and pulled her in, spinning her around as his face tucked perfectly into her neck.

“I missed you too” she mumbled into his neck knowing this was his way to show that as a few of the other teams people smiled while watching the science before he placed her down and nodded to her and interlinked their fingers. “I have to show you everything” he said excitedly while pulling her into his side.

She let out a small giggle and looked up at him “you have me for 2 whole weeks.” you promised him as you both started walking. George rode past and then turned to ride around the couple “You must be the wonderful Ivy he hasn’t shut up about for the past two weeks” He says as he hopes off to walk the scooter on the other side of Kimi while looking at the girl.

Ivy nods and offers him a small smile “your George, right?” She confirms while pointing for a second before dropping her hand down to her side “yes. Has he not spoken much about me?” George claimed in false offence while placing a hand over his heart, earning a little giggle from Ivy and Kimi to take at him before his eyes focused solely on her.

“non parliamo esattamente di te... mai (we don’t exactly talk about you… ever)” He replies, his slightly thinker accent as he glances over at him and drops his arm to rest around her waist and tucks his hand into the back pocket of her jeans. “Well in that case… is there anything you haven’t told her? like how cool and amazing I am?” George replied sarcastically as they walked into the Mercedes garage.

Kimi rolls his eyes and looks at her for a second before smiling again, softer than with others but enough that his eyes also feel the relief of looking at her. “I have only seen a few photos of you from the ones posted on Kimi’s page” She speaks up to him while ducking her head slightly to look at him as Kimi keeps his eyes trained on her while pulling her still along with him.

The older Mercedes driver just nodded before giving Kimi a small shove on the shoulder and a little laugh “I need her around more. She’s better than you” he spoke and nodded over to her before they walked into the main area of the garage and Toto turned around to greet them with a wide smile and walked over. An engineer instantly took over his spot and didn’t even spare the two drivers a look.

Toto placed a hand on George's shoulder and stood in front of Kimi with a proud smile and held a hand out to shake her hand which she returned with a kind smile, her other hand fidgeting with her rings on her other hand. Toto let her hand fall after shaking it as Kimi placed his arm around her shoulder yet again and her head rested on his shoulder softly while Toto spoke to both Mercedes drivers about the day's plan.

His hand hadn’t left her’s through the entire track walk, his eyes would flicker to her when she asked questions on what things meant that he or even Toto were more than happy to answer, George knew Toto was just happy to have someone to explain things to that wanted to listen without being forced to.

Cameras had gotten clips of them walking or the one little slip Kimi had when he kissed her earlier in the garage and then proceeded to drag her further in the building when he noticed the camera's blush caught on both of their faces.

Kimi didn’t really mind though, he wanted her around more than he would have liked to admit to anyone besides her, which he had multiple times in the day she had been there following him around without shame but still amazed at everything that was simultaneously happening around them.

They were now walking back into the pit lane and walked past a few garages that had some drivers out front who let out a little ‘yeah kimi’ when they saw him, most times parents didn’t do the walk but Kimi was insistent that she went with them, at least this time, so Toto pulled a few strings the day before she showed up to get her permission to be with them.

Another interview was in process as Kimi, George and Toto all stood around just out of view waiting for their turn to have their one, Kimi was hugging Ivy from behind as his head rested on her shoulder and they both were having a hushed conversation between them about random little things “you like everything?” Kimi asked her while leaning back to push hair around her shoulder.

“Yeah. It was fun” she speaks as her head turns and tilts up to look at him “thank you for inviting me, and showing me your people” her words are slightly more hushed then the last while she spins and wraps her arms around his neck to pull herself up to be almost his height, his hands moving to hold her face, and kiss his cheek only for him to slightly move his face and actually kiss her.

He lets her pull away after a few seconds and she looks at him, flushed face, while his smile has never looked wider “thanks for the gift” he spoke back like he wasn’t the one who moved and kissed her properly “i thought you said Toto said no kissing while in the grid?” she asked him, as her hands moved to gently push some of his curls away from his face “Non mi interessa (I don’t care)” he mumbles and pushes his face into her hair to place a gentle kiss on her hair line.

THE TEXT MESSAGE VIDEO|| kimi Antonelli x fem!reader

summary: A Mercedes video where they expose the text messages between Kimi and his girlfriend.

Warnings: flirty comments, potential flirting, pore translation of Italian things (my bad),

“Hi Kimi” one of the admin team said from behind the camera as another walked over and handed him a stack of upside down poster boards while he set in-front of the camera.

He smiled at the camera “Hi. can i be told what were doing today?” He asks, his accent slightly softer as the Admin nods behind the camera and starts explaining to him.

“today we you are going to be showing, flipping an individual card, around to show the camera and explain the meaning to reason behind the text messages between you and your girlfriend” They explain with a small smile as he nods to the explanation.

He flips the first card around to reveal the text and smiles a little at it;

His smiles breaks into something bigger when he reads the texts and nods along, remembering the exact moment that had happened “yes, this when i was away on a triple header weekend and she got sick. She was trying to act okay and we had this very little conversation before going on call for about 13 hours.”

He explains with a look of love in his eye as he talks to the camera and then gently places the board down and winks at the camera before the screen goes black.

The next clip is of him holding the next board and reading over it before letting out a little laugh before moving to show the camera:

“she was angry caused i missed her call…” he starts explaining and laughed a little “my mum told me to never be rude to people i love so i refused to call her anything eles and immediately after she read the message she facetimed me and continued to talk about it for about an hour” His words were soft but still filled with love while his eyes twinkled at the memory.

The admin gave a little laugh and Kimi joined in before placing the board down on the same point as the other “am i allowed to just keep going? or do i need to say anything eles?” he asked while looking at the camera “you can keep going. your good” An admin answers him and he nods.

the screen cutting him holding the next card and smiling at it, a common thing he does when reading the card:

Kimi showed the card and a few admin gave a little giggle behind the camera “she was questioning everything cause i had sent her an email of plane tickets to my race” He smiled and looked at the text again “it worked and she stayed with me for a whole week while catching up on school work while away. i finally had my favourite math tutor back” He laughed and an engineer behind the camera let out a small ‘hey’ causing everyone, including Kimi, to laugh at it.

The scene cut again to him already holding the next one with a small little smile on his face:

“this…” he pointed with his other hand “is something i still bring up to this day” he tilts his head a little and looks at the card before back to the camera “she wasn’t happy cause Toto had canceled my flight before i could go back to see her and she had sent me a giant paragraph. kind of glad that wasn’t included” He says and smiles a little at the thought before placing the card down.

The scene cuts to the next one as a few laughs are still coming from behind the camera from admin while Kimi has a small smirk on his face for only a second:

“she had a bad day. that’s the only explanation i can give” he grins to the camera and points the emojis “she uses them a lot. i don’t really but it’s cute” He says and taps the board for a deeper meaning to what he’s saying.

Someone behind the camera laughs and the mic picks up them saying ‘the amount of scenes we’re gonna have to cut’ causing Kimi to smile and wink at the camera yet again.

Kimi had a mad smile on his face as the camera focus on him and his eyes are wide before he turns to grab another card:

“i was about to head onto the podium and i knew she hadn’t watched my race as she had an important meeting and i hadn’t told her i had won but had to act all innocent and decided to ask her on a date night” his eyes glance between the camera and the texts

An admin lets out a little laugh “do you ever act like your achievements aren’t as big as they actually are?” they ask before Kimi lets out a little laugh “my girlfriend would say the same thing” he smiles even more at him getting to continue talking about her.

As the camera focuses again Kimi seems to be walking back into frame and sits down “sorry” he mumbles as he adjusts so he’s comfy as he reaches for the next one;

Kimi let his head drop and smiled before looking up at the camera “i just had to tell her. i’ll gladly admit this any day” He spoke calmly “are you obsessed with her?” An admin speaks from behind the camera and he nods “most definitely. i’m so obsessed with her that i follow her high school instagram from before she got her new one”.

Someone from behind the camera laughs while a few also giggle “now someone’s gonna find that account” one speaks up before Kimi shakes his head “it’s a private account. she logged in just to follow me back and then logged out” He explains before placing the board down to grab the next one.

Kimi is leaning forward and almost falling off his chair before George speaks up “i never wanna hear that again” he yells before the sound of loud feet exists the room and Kimi relaxes his face to grab the next one:

Kimi smile softly and places the board on his lap “this one… i need someone to grab my wallet” he point and someone’s hand reaches across the camera to pass him his wallet “for clarification this is the card that goes with it” he says and pulls out a little pink and white card that says ‘official girlfriend validation’ and then places it back in his wallet.

“now… the actual message” he says while showing it and smiling while his other hand is covering his face and laughing slightly before looking back at the camera and going to place down the card on the ground “if the message isn’t clarification to what goes on isn’t how i act daily then i don’t think anything i’ve said makes any sense in life”.

Kimi laughs before picking up the next and giggling a little after reading it:

“this one was from when i knew she was sleeping and we were on call while i messaged this to her” He explains as he shows it and looked up “it was when we were half way across the country away from eachother” he looks back and nods before moving to place it down with the rest of the boards.

“okay. this is the last one in the pile” He says while turning it to face him and letting his head drop as he smiles and a small layer of blush coats his face:

He turns it to show the camera while resting his forehead behind the board and letting out a little giggle “i’m sorry” he mutters and looks up to face the camera and look past it at the giggling admin “i have no explanation” he claims and laughs again.

“this is really cute and like true… one day” Kimi admits while moving to be able to look at the board “i’ve said it before to her. it’ll happen one day” a few admin let out a small ‘awe’ and he smile.

He places the board down and looks at the camera “am i doing to outro or is someone?” he asks while looking at someone behind the camera “you can if you want” someone answers as a few chairs shuffle along the floor “okay. by guys, thank you for watching me explain texts between my girlfriend and i… im pretty sure on instagram only is gonna be the ones we aren’t allowed to show on here”

Kimi speaks while standing and putting his wallet in his back pocket and crouching down to have his face close to the camera “i’m gonna go and flirt with my girlfriend now…” he mutters to someone behind the camera before putting his face close to fill the whole screen “thanks for staying”
