Some pictures from a project I’ve been working on for a while via the guys over at THC.
Q&A:CHRIS-HOARE
Have you recently been living by any life philosophy? I’m a big admirer of Alex Webb, I read a book of his a few months back and he mentioned that with photography you have to “get on the bus” in order for things to work out, I’m looking to make sure I’m on that bus. What will baffle future generations about our day and age? Plastic bags. What is it that interests you about photography? It gives me an excuse to engage with people who I might not ever get to talk to otherwise, it allows me to be curious about everything. What part of the planet would you like to explore? Australia, again, this time more thoroughly. What do you think is the most plausible of the supernatural? Spirituality. If you had to align yourself with a leader in history, who would it be? Tony Benn, even though he never gained leadership – what a guy! Pick a field of science to be an expert within. Chemistry. Choose a job you would be willing to do for free on the side. Deliver supermarket waste to homeless people on my bike.
Describe the most important photo you’ve seen. Maybe not the most important, but a personal favourite for a long time, Jonas Bendiksen’s image of a fallen satellite surrounded by fluorescent butterflies – banger. Describe a personal hell. Being beaten in a boxing ring by Tony Blair. Which living person do you most admire? John Pilger, he’s a moral tank. On what occasion do you lie? When I’m bargaining with idiots. What was the last crime you witnessed? Me stealing a bottle of vinegar from the pub. What is the best way to educate yourself? Always ask questions. What is the next book you want to read? Charles Dickens - Hardtimes. Ultimate camera? Hassleblad H5D. Most used camera? Hassleblad 500cm. What object do you want? A top of the line mattress. What object do you need? Film, film and more film.
How would you explain the Internet to someone from the 1950’s? A bottomless pit of information, dangerously time wasting. Are you satisfied with your level of physical strength? Quietly confident. Describe a cheap thrill. Hitting a matchbox around with a group of friends, we call it “matchplay” it’s great. Pick an historic moment from the last hundred years to bring a camera to. A pub during the 1966 World Cup final. Are impulses more important than consequences? As long as it doesn’t bring pain to someone else. Which talent would you most like to have? The ability to remember word for word everything I read. What is your plan for the next 24 hours? Bangers and mash, cinema, edit and sleep. Chris Hoare - Website / Instagram

The time has finally come to show work from a new series that I have been working on, entitled "I'll be there with a smile".
I'll be exhibiting in a group exhibition at The Fish Factory in Falmouth from the 17th - 23rd of March.
Here the event page : https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153641176959418&set=gm.375003546003782&type=1&theater
Should be a good one.
