My favorite angst trope is when two characters are in a heated argument about whatever and suddenly in the heat of the moment one of them ends up saying something that they never wanted to ever say to them(a secret they kept hidden, they said something horrible about the other that they don't actually believe, but it just came out.), followed up by a long uncomfortable silence as both parties just digest what that person said and said person grows horrified at the realization what just came out of their mouth.
