Chapter Four
Cassy Millers
Cassy sat at her desk, sighing as she rubbed her temples. No one knew how to fucking do their job right because now she was sitting here having to fix their mistakes. She put her glasses back on and continued to look at the reports.
“Dr. Miller? It’s me, Aurora," said someone on the other end of the door.
“Come on in, Aurora,” Cassy said as she placed the papers down.
The door opened and Aurora walked in.
“Tough day?” Cassy asked.
“Pfft, yeah tough day,” Aurora said.
“I saw that today was the day Emily died, did you go and see her?” Cassy asked.
“Yeah, I always do. Today and Mom’s birthday. Never miss ‘em,”
“That’s good,” Cassy commented as she picked up her papers again. “So, why are you here?” Cassy asked.
“It’s just been a while, you know? I just wanted to check up on you,” Aurora said.
Cassy could see bruises and scuffs all over any visible skin on Aurora. She knew about Aurora being Spider Gas. She could never tell her that she knew because too many things that she took so long and fought so hard to cover up would be revealed. And poor little Aurora didn’t need that on her plate.
“Yeah, I’ve been pretty busy. People just don’t like to do their job and leave it to me,” Cassy complained.
Aurora chuckled.
“Yeah, I've been busy with the band, we're trying to make a couple of new songs,”
“Ah, still in that band, I see. You four have been doing that for a while now,” Cassy said as she organized and read papers.
“Mhm, almost four years,” Aurora replied.
“Do they know?” Cassy asked.
She didn’t realize what she had said until Aurora gave her a confused look and a “What?”
Cassy panicked, she asked about her being Spider Gas… Fuck!
“A-About your parents? You know about them being famous and all that,” She recovered.
“Oh! Yeah, they know. They don’t care too much about it, so that’s good,”
Cassy sighed. She kept slipping up sometimes-- that’s what happens when you're older-- you tend to forget things a lot.
~*~
After a lunch break at a deli, the two parted ways and left to continue with their day. Cassy sighed as she walked back to her office, saying hello to people along the way with a friendly smile that didn’t mean anything. She wasn’t here to make friends, not after her last two that she had on a project… that backstabbing asshole. He said that he would cut ties with her can then they could be together but he never did, that fucking kid got in the way like always.
Cassy sighed as she flopped down into the armchair next to her desk and groaned. She really needed to take her anger off on something.
“Cassy… Cassy…” A voice whispered. “I know you can hear me, you old hag!” They snapped.
“Color, not now,” Cassy said sternly as she looked over to a picture frame.
In the reflection, she could see Colorpop looking back at her pointing, like a child. Colorpop was an old experiment that she was doing that went horribly wrong. Someone got stuck with Colorpop for the rest of her life after trying to test a serum she made on her. Colorpop attacked her and their bodies fused into one, making them two people trapped in one body-- Cassy’s body.
“You never let me out! Three days a month doesn’t cut it, lady!” She snapped.
“We need to be more careful, with Miguel tracking us and watching us we can’t be as reckless. He’s not as weak as poor little Aurora and you know it. That one time he kicked you into that wall of the flower shop, gave me a headache for days,” Cassy complained as she rubbed her head, it started to ache from all of Color’s whining and yelling like a child.
“Fine! Fine! I won’t come out,” Color snapped.
“Good! I don’t have time for your shit today, I need to finish my work,” Cassy said.

Chapter Three
Spider Gas (A.K.A Aurora Jackson)
Aurora and Hobie stood at the top of a building watching the street below them. They could not find this anomaly for the life of them. It was Colorpop again, how-- they don’t know-- but Aurora’s just happy that it’s her and Hobie facing Colourpop and not Hobie and Delighla, she would never forgive herself if something happened to Delighla by her earth’s villain.
Just as she was about to bitch about it, out of the corner of her eye, she saw something flying at her. She dodged just before it hit her head-- Hobie only dogged it due to his spidey senses. Crazy giggling could be heard.
“Gas… I found you!” Colorpop said as she jumped onto the roof.
“What the fuck is ‘at thing?” Hobie asked as he looked at her.
“No time to explain, really! But don’t be confused about how cute she looks, she’s fucking creepy,” Aurora snapped as she tossed the male a gas mask. “Put that on over your mask,”
Snapping and cracking could be heard as Colorpop started to extend her body parts.
“Bloody hell! You deal wit’ this ‘ing!?”
“Yep, three days straight, and then she goes away for a month!” Aurora snapped as she dodged a swing by Colorpop’s enlarged arm.
“Fuckin’ hell mate, I feel bad for ya,” Hobie said as she shot webs at Colorpop’s face.
Colorpop screeched once it hit her and started to claw it off.
“Alright, I’ma gas her!” Aurora yelled as she knelt down and reached into her backpack, trying to find one of her gas grenades she made.
Once she pulled it out, she quickly pulled the string and threw it on the ground at Colorpop’s feet. Colorpop screeched once it exploded and a neon green gas exploded around her, engulfing her until a loud thud could be heard.
~*~
“Great work you two. Put her in a holding cell,” Miguel said, not even looking at them as he typed away on his computers.
Aurora shot him a thumbs up before dragging the cocooned Colorpop away. She screamed and screeched and Aurora dragged her off. Aurora opened the door to the holding cell and dragged her in before walking out, not even caring enough to take Colorpop out of the little cocoon that she put her in. Aurora sighed as she walked away; another long day done and over with. Now she can go back home and get some sleep. God, she was exhausted and that wasn’t even a lot of work, probably because she went to bed so late. Aurora grounded as she looked at the watch before seeing that date… August 13th, the day her mom died… Great… just fucking great… She was only 16 when it all happened. Her mom was a scientist for Alchemax-- a good one, too-- that’s how she and her dad met, actually.
They were both spectacular scientists for Alchemax working on a project with another woman. All three of them became friends and Aurora’s parents obviously became more than that, got married after two years of dating, and had Aurora six months later. Her mother named her after Sleeping Beauty because that was her favorite Disney character. When Aurora was ten, her father died from cancer. And then six years later, she became Spider Gas after being bit by one of her mom’s projects and then a month later her mother died at the hands of Colorpop, and she was too late to save her. Aurora still remembers crying into her mother’s chest like a baby as she slowly died, telling her it was okay and not to be scared or sad. It fucked Aurora up badly. After that, Aurora went to live with her best friend, Skunk. Aurora sighed as she looked back and the little shit before leaving back to her earth

Chapter Two
Flower Power (A.K.A Delighla Peters)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1954 was the year Delighla was born and in most of the worlds of the spiders she knows, she is probably in her 80s, but on her earth, she’s 18 years old and the year 1972. She loves her New York City, and loves the fact she's from the 70s but she feels that she's behind a little.
“Pav, my man, put the dogs away,” Miles joked. “Like man, why you got your toes out?”
Pav started laughing as the rest of the group followed along… but dogs? Dogs? People in 2023 call feet…dogs? What has the world come to? Oh, god, she was probably going to be one of those judgy old people, wasn't she?
“So… Aurora has another concert, she can’t hang out tonight,” Delighla said
“Man, she’s been busy, hasn’t she?” Gwen said.
“Yeah, Colorpop is back again,” Delighla replied.
“You know ‘at, mate, I’ma pay ‘er a visit. I’ma go to ‘er concert. What ‘bout you four?” Hobie asked.
“Nah, punk isn’t really my thing,” Miles said.
“Same here,” Gwen agreed.
Pav nodded as he looked at a magazine.
“I’ll go!” Delighla said happily.
“Let's pay our favorite vampire a visit, eh?” Hobie said as he stood up.
~*~
Delighla and Hobie walked out of the alleyway the portal opened in and walked out into the street. Delilah looked like she came straight out of a 70s TV show and Hobie fit right in with the other people around them as they walked to the venue where the gig was being held. Hobie’s casual outfit looked like his spider suit, some pants, and just a black tee shirt instead. Delilah wore a white dress that she made and painted the same pattern from her suit onto it. Her hair was big and curly like usual but neatly pushed back with a headband but still had the iconic 70s beehive hairdo and some chunky white platform heels.
“Dressin’ up to impress yer Doris, eh, mate?” Hobie teased.
“What! No! We're not dating!” Delighla exclaimed as her face turned beet red.
The Stonewall Movement had only just started three years ago on her earth so Delighla knew that being gay was okay, she just didn’t know if she was gay.
“Whatever ya say, mate,” Hobie shrugged as the line started moving.
“... Do you think she’ll like it though…?”
“Twirl, ‘course she will. Don’t worry too much ‘bout it,” Hobie said as he showed the guy at the door the tickets they somehow got… don't ask, they most definitely did something illegal.
The two walked in, flashing lights, lots of people dancing, there was a mosh pit in a corner, blaring music and people screamed along.
“I ‘ink ‘ey get on at eight, it's only seven right now,” Hobie yelled over the music.
“Okay!” Delighla yelled back.
The music was so loud that Delighla could barely hear her thoughts. She stuck close to Hobie to avoid getting lost in the large crowd. After a while, the opening band finished their set and people cheered for them but cheered louder once the next band got on the stage. The Vamps. Aurora- The lead singer, Skunk- the drummer, Stella- the backup singer and backup guitarist, and finally Greg - the main guitarist.
Aurora wore a leather mini skirt that she painted a red spider web and spider onto, a jean vest, and a button-up top under it. Panty hoes and some black knee-high boots.
“Look ‘a ‘at, yer Doris got all dressed up,” Hobie said as he looked at Aurora.
“Shut it!” Delighla snapped. “Is this a joke to you!?”
“I don’t believe in comedy.”
Delighla huffed, her face bright red as she threw a straw at the taller male. Hobie chuckled as The Vamps' opening song started. Delighla wasn’t all for punk, she never was. She was more into the Beatles and jazz but she only came to see Aurora and Hobie knew that, everyone knew that. But she didn’t mind, she would listen to people scream into a mic-- especially if that person screaming was Aurora-- if that meant she got to see her again for an hour or two. Delighla sat at their table, watching them and taking sips of her drink-- which was a flower power martini that Hobie got her.
~*~
An hour and thirty minutes is how long their set was, and Delighla never knew that Aurora had that many songs, or that she was a great singer, to be honest.
“‘Right, mate. Just paid our tab, let's go see, Miss Vamp over ‘ere,” Hobie said as he dragged Delighla out of her seat.
“What!? No! Wait! Hold on! I’m not ready!” She yelled as she tried to get Hobie to let go of her.
She’d hardly seen Aurora out of her spider suit and she had been drinking; she was a lightweight. This wasn’t going to end well.
“Come on, mate! Let's go see yer Doris, eh?” Hobie teased as he dragged her backstage.
Behind the curtain stood all of The Vamps’ bandmates but no Aurora.
“Uh- guys, who are these two?” Stella asked as she pointed at them.
Stella was a shorter, plus-sized girl dressed in Vampiric goth attire.
“Uh- I don’t know…” Skunk replied.
He was tall and skinny and dressed in a 2000s emo style.
“Well, mate, glad ya asked. Name’s Hobie. This is Delighla-- we're friends o’ Aurora,” Hobie explained.
Greg looked at them before speaking.
“Like, her other job?” He asked, hinting towards her being Spider-Woman.
“Yeah, that ‘ne, mate.” Hobie shrugged.
“Last I checked, I was the only one helping her,” Skunk said.
“Uh… long story,” Delighla rushed.
“Okay! I’m back…” Aurora drifted off when she saw the duo. “Uh, what are you two doing here?”
“We ‘anted to pay our favorite vampire a visit,” Hobie said. “Figured ya wouldn’t mind if we crashed yer gay an’ hearty,”
“Ah, no, I guess I’m just surprised and all…what’s up with Delighla?” Aurora questioned.
“Seems she’s a lightweight,” Hobie shrugged.
“No ‘m not…!” Delighla slurred, leaning against Hobie’s taller frame for support.
“Whatever. Yer Doris was beggin’ to see ya. Was hopin’ ya’d like ‘er fit.” Hobie said, turning his attention back to Aurora.
“Hobie!” Delighla whined drunkenly, hitting the said male’s arm. “You promised not to tell…”
“My Doris…? You know what, never mind. Uh, what’d you think of the show?” Aurora asked.
“It was amazing!” Delighla slurred, stumbling over to Aurora and hugging her.
“Really? I didn’t see you as the kind of person that likes punk rock.” Aurora admitted.
“I don’t…”
“Oh.”
Aurora sighed as the smaller woman clung to her.
“Let me guess, you guys need a place to crash?” Aurora asked the duo.
“Yeah… I don’t ‘ink Delighla ‘an go back like ‘at. She don’t seem ‘oo hunky-dory,” Hobie replied.
Aurora sighed. In all honesty, she didn’t mind Delighla staying over at her place but she hated that Hobie knew that and was setting her up. Although, if that was the worst of it, then it wasn’t too bad.
“Hey, Skunk?” Aurora turned over to her roommate.
“Yeah?” He hollered back.
“I’ma let Hobie and Delighla crash at our place, is that okay?” She hollered back.
“Yeah! I was gonna crash at Greg’s anyways,” He hollered back.
“Great, looks like you two have a place to crash,” Aurora said. “Hey, Delighla, are you still with us?”
A little hum could be heard as the redhead clung to the taller woman more.
“Hobie? A little help carrying her?” Aurora requested.
“Nah, yer on yer own, mate.” Hobie denied, shoving his hands into his vest pockets and spinning on his heel.
“Wha- what do you mean no!? You brought her here!”
“She’s yer Doris,”
“What does that even mean!?”
Hobie only shrugged as he continued to walk away. Aurora sighed and scooped Delighla up in her arms. The vampire waved goodbye to her bandmates before begrudgingly following the punk spider.
~*~
Aurora groaned as she opened her apartment door and walked in, still carrying Delighla in her arms. Hobie walked in after her and flopped down on Aurora’s couch. It was how you’d think-- band posters everywhere, pictures of all of the bandmates together hanging out, posters, dining plates-- mostly black, but still looked good.
“Nice couch,” Hobie said as he watched Aurora carry Delighla to her room.
“Thanks, you're welcome to sleep there. I don’t think Skunk would like you in his bed,” Aurora said as she walked away to her room.
She walked in and shut the door with her foot, placing Delighla on her bed. Delighla almost instantly cuddled up in her sheets, hugging a black flower pillow that Aurora owned.
“No, you can’t go to sleep yet. I need to get that makeup off of you,” Aurora said as she sat Delighla up against her headboard and walked over to her vanity to grab some makeup remover.
Delighla whined as she was moved and was almost sitting properly. Aurora walked back over and with a little cotton pad she poured the liquid on and started to wipe off the other spider’s makeup. Once she was done, she put her stuff back before sifting through her dresser drawers. She tossed some clothes over at Delighla while holding some of hers.
“I’m going to change in the back room. You can change here. And please, be done when I get back,” Aurora said as she walked out to go into the back room to change.
Thankfully, when she came back, Delighla was fully dressed and half asleep in her bed. Aurora didn’t mind sleeping with her. She had to share a bed for the first ten years of her life with her mom until things started getting good and then it happened… She sighed as she crawled into her bed. Delighla instantly cuddled up with her, burying her face in her chest. Aurora buried her crimson face into Delighla’s curly mess of hair. It smelled strongly of hairspray and daffodils. Aurora can’t remember the last time she had a sweet moment like this, cuddling with a woman in her bed. God, that had to be years ago when she was dating her ex. That was around two years ago when they broke up after she graduated from high school. She sighed as she cuddled closer to the warm body that was loosely holding onto her, hoping that it never ends.
~*~
Aurora woke up to the sound of two people talking. She groaned and got out of the bed that Delighla was still asleep in. She walked out of her room groggy and still tired, and a little pissed off from being woken up so early. She walked out to see Dracula arguing with Hobie.
“What the fuck are you doing in my house? Hasn’t your mother ever taught you not to just barge into places?!” She snapped.
“Where's Delighla? Hobie and her have a mission that they need to do,” Miguel said as he looked at Aurora.
“She can’t, she’s hung over. I’ll take her place,” Aurora calmly said.
Miguel sighed to calm himself as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Fine, fine… If she’s hung over she’s in no state to fight” Miguel complied.
“Thank you, now get the fuck out of my house! Who taught you that you could just waltz in here!? Certainly wasn’t your mother!” Aurora snapped.
Miguel sat there for a moment, taken aback a little, but groaned and soon left, muttering to himself in Spanish as he pushed buttons on his watch before opening a portal and leaving. Aurora groaned when the man left and also left the living room muttering something in Spanish too as she left to go put her suit on.
Chapter One
Spider Gas (A.K.A Aurora Jackson)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Spider Gas- Aurora Jackson- looked down at the city below her. New York City was busy and bustling with weirdos. This morning, she caught a guy dressed up as Chucky when he tried robbing a hotdog stand. New York is weird, man.
Aurora stared down at the city, walking past cars and people on the crowded sidewalk. Today was a better day; it always was when Colorpop didn’t show up. Colorpop would show up, curse tarot for three days, and then disappear for a month. It was a weird schedule-- and it did make Aurora wonder what the villain was doing for the month-- but it was nice to have a break from her.
A loud cracking noise could be heard behind the woman, it sounded like bones snapping or popping. Colorpop… great… Spider Gas whipped around just before Colorpop could slash her. Colorpop could extend her limbs past what a human could do. So, when a long arm with sharp claws almost slashed her to death, she wasn’t too shocked. She rolled to the side as she looked at Colorpop. Colorpop stared at her. She was only around 5’2 and looked like a cute little doll but she was horrifying. She stared at Aurora, a huge creepy smile that stretched ear to ear, flashing her rainbow-colored sharp teeth, looking like she wanted to eat her soul and rip her to shreds.
“Miss me?” She asked, still smiling.
“Fuck no, I didn’t, creepy bitch,” Spider Gas snapped.
Colorpop laughed like she was from a horror movie and lunged at the spider-woman again, swinging her extended arm at her, ready to bring it down on her. Spider Gas dodged and swiped her feet out from under her, just before this loud ripping sound could be heard above the two. They both looked up at the source of the sound to see what looked like a portal ripping the sky above them. Little petals and anything else that was on the ground started to float.
But that was only little things, the more the rift opened, the bigger the things got, like a person. Spider Gas let out a little yelp and she started to float into the air, into the rift, and let out another yell when Colorpop started floating closer to her. Colorpop launched onto Spider Gas once she got close enough just as the two got lifted into the rift. Once in the rift, it felt like every atom and molecule in their body was being split apart and then sewn back together again, yet it was completely painless. Before the two was a dazzling array of flashing lights as they both flailed helplessly in the colorful void. It looked like an acid trip, but it was more panic-inducing considering that they were both sober and flying around aimlessly. But they soon could hear talking, cars driving around, horns and other big city sounds as the two came to the end of the rift. They fell out of the rift and into the sky as the noises became louder.
Spider Gas looked below them as a loud yell was torn from Colorpop’s throat. The spider-woman got hit by a bird and let go of Colorpop to get the said bird off of her. The villain fell to a building nearby while Spider Gas fell into the sidewalk in front of a flower shop. She let out a loud groan as she rolled over, trying to get up as her head spun from the force of the fall. She dragged herself off the ground and stood up, looking around… This wasn’t her world. The cars looked older, like, from the 70s, and everyone walking around dressed like it was in the 70s. What is going on? Where is she? What year is it? She continued to look around before something crashed into her, tackling her to the ground. She looked at the thing that made her fall to the ground again only to see a person. A spider person. She wore a mask but her fiery orange hair was let out, showing off the neat, curly mess it was. Her suit was white with rainbows on the sleeves and a cute Flower Power design on her abdomen. Her mask had a pink web on it and she wore a lighter shade of pink, flower-shaped sunglasses. She stared down at Spider Gas for a moment before speaking.
“You're not from here, are you?” She had a thick Southern accent that made Spider Gas melt a little, reminding Gas of her mother.
“Fuck no, I’m not!” Spider Gas snapped.
The other spider laughed and got off, helping Spider Gas up before taking her into the flower shop and closing the blinds.
“I’m Flower Power or Delighla Parkers,” she said as she took off the sunglasses and mask.
Spider Gas’s heart skipped a beat when she saw her. She had such a pretty face, sun-kissed skin covered in freckles, rosy cheeks, and blue-painted eyelids with some red lips to match.
“I- uh… I’m Spider Gas or uh, Aurora Jackson,” She said, clearing her throat and regaining her composure.
“Oh, I love that name!” Delighla said, happily.
Aurora was so lucky that she still had her mask on due to her face being as red as a tomato from the compliment. The southern accent and the compliment from a pretty woman are all too much for her.
“So, is it just you, or are there more that go sucked in here?” Delighla asked.
“Oh! No, my villain g-”
The sound of glass breaking was deafening as Aurora spoke. The two turned around to see Colorpop get thrown into the building, hitting the wall on the other side.
“I told you to call when you hear the rift happen!” A man yelled on the other side, cursing in Spanish. “You had one job, Flower!”
“Miguel, you’re trippin’. I was going to. And you broke my window!” Delighla snapped.
“Yeah, sure!” The man snapped as he stepped into the shop. Isabella was here
He was HUGE, tall as fuck, and looked like he could bend metal with his bare hands. He turned his attention to Spider Gas.
“Uh, hi,” Spider Gas said with an awkward wave.
He sighed as he walked over to Colorpop and picked up her limp body. He looked at this weird watch-like device that he had on and started to type something onto it and a portal soon opened.
“Get in. You too, Flower,” He snapped, barely glancing at the two as he walked into the portal.
Flower Power groaned as she walked in, Spider Gas hesitantly following suit. This wasn’t as bad as the first time-- it was a lot faster too. Once the quartet exited the portal, Spider Gas looked around to see lots of computers and desks that no one was at and one large, floating pedestal that Miguel stepped onto. He instantly started to type something onto the computers for a while before turning over to Spider Gas again.
“Spider Gas, right?” He questioned, still not looking at her but a floating hologram he slid over.
“Yep,” The girl replied.
“Aurora Jackson, Famous punk rock star, lead singer of the “Vamps”, and Earth-57’s spider-woman,” He said as he looked at the floating screen. “Nice to see that you already had your canon event, just to make sure it's right. Your mother died before you could save her?”
“Yep, pretty much,” Aurora responded.
“Great… You can create…gas? I guess the name’s fitting, then. What does it do?”
“Uh, it stinks like a skunk and it makes people dizzy and then they hallucinate for a while,”
“I see. Nothing too bad,” He murmured as he started typing. “Fangs? And a paralyzing venom?”
“Yeah…”
How does he know so much about her? Where is he getting this shit?
“Now, more importantly, who’s the little shit that I had to drag around?”
“Oh! That’s Colorpop. She's a real pain in my ass,”
“Ah, okay.” Miguel started typing again. “Well, that’s all of my questions for now, put this on and Flower will show you around,” Miguel said as he tossed me one of the weird watch thingys and walked off, dragging Colorpop with him.
“Great! I’ll take you to the others and all around the HQ!” Delighla said as she grabbed Aurora’s wrist as she dragged her away.
She dragged Aurora everywhere, showing her everything and telling her anything she needed to know before dragging her off to a hole in the wall that was covered with boxes.
“Miguel hasn’t figured this out yet but Jess and Peter have somehow,” she said as she shrugged and crawled into the hole.
Aurora stared at it for a minute before crawling in behind Delighla. Someone had made a makeshift tumble out of painted boxes and a cloth at the end to make a door. There was a group talking, consisting of three guys and one girl.
“Mate, I don’t think you get it, Miguel chased Miles around like a bloody dog,” a man with a thick Cockney accent said.
“I still have nightmares of that,” someone else said with a shudder.
“I’m back!” Delighla said as she crawled out of the tunnel and into the room. “And I brought a new spider!” She said happily as he reached into the tunnel and dragged Aurora out into the world. “Meet Aurora! She’s a punk rock star!” She said happily and she lifted Aurora with strength she looked like she didn’t have.
“I- uh…”
Aurora didn’t know what to say with four people staring at her. The girl she heard talking earlier had blonde hair and half of her head was shaved, the British man that was talking earlier was definitely punk like her (thank god), another one was drinking some tea, while the one who was probably Miles was still talking about his nightmares with Dracula.
Delighla pushed Aurora down onto a bean bag chair as she sat in the one next to her.
“So… are you guys going to say something?” Delighla asked while everyone sat in silence.
“Aurora, eh?” The British guy asked.
“Yep,” she responded.
“Cool. Name’s Hobie, ‘at’s Gwen, Pav, and Miles,” he said as he pointed at everyone. “Ya can take the mask off if ya want, mate”
“Oh! Shit, I forgot I had it on!” Aurora said as she first took the gas mask off then her spider one.
Aurora had a gig tonight after the whole spider thing was over so she had her face all painted in trad goth makeup and her hair had been teased with an inch of its life and had a shit ton of hairspray in it.
“How did your hair not go flat under your mask?” Miles wondered.
Aurora shrugged as she leaned back into her bean bag.
“Flower over ‘ere said that ya were in a band, yeah?” Hobie asked.
“Mhm, that’s right. It’s called The Vamps but the funny thing is tha-“
“She’s a vampire! Isn’t that cool!” Delighla interrupted happily.
“Like Miguel?” Gwen asked.
“I think so, I don’t really care about him. He seems too full of himself,” Aurora said. “So, what is this place anyway?”
“A hang out in a hole in the wall. Great ‘ing ‘bout it is ‘at Miguel can never figure out where we are,” Hobie replied nonchalantly.
“Huh, great,” Aurora said.
They all talked for a while until Aurora’s phone started ringing. She reached into her backpack and pulled out her phone. Skunk was calling-- he was the drummer of The Vamps.
“I’ll be back,” Aurora said as she crawled out of the hiding spot from Dracula.
She picked up and Skunk instantly spoke.
“Yo, I know you have your spider thing right now but gigs in around an hour, just wanted to make sure you got here on time,” he said.
“Yeah, I know, I’ll be there. Don’t worry,” she replied.
All of the band members found out about the whole spider thing after they found the suit on her suitcase when they went on tour a while back. She didn’t plan on telling them but it was a little hard to explain why she just had that in her luggage, so she told them and they didn’t care too much about the whole thing as long as she shows up on time.
“I’m just about to head back right now,”
She wasn’t but hey, she needed to say something.
Skunk said his goodbyes and hung up, Aurora sighed as she crawled back into the hole. “Hey, I got my gig in an hour I need to get going,”
“Ah, see ya later, mate,” Hobie said as all the others were fighting about something but Delighla still made sure to wave her goodbye before she crawled back out.
~*~
Aurora rushed back quickly, she needed to do sound checks and get ready before she could even think about going on stage. She swung around the city before going into an alleyway and taking off her mask and zipping up her jacket. Her suit wasn’t like everyone else's, it did cover the top half but not her legs so she wore pants. It was better for things like this so that she can hide away real quick, zip up her jacket, take off her mask, and be on her way.
She walked out of the alleyway and walked into the street and to her shared apartment. She unlocked the door and walked in.
“Ay! I was wondering when you would show up!” Skunk said as he sat at the bar.
“Yeah, yeah, I know. But I still have 40 minutes to get ready, you need to join everyone else and help them set up, I’ll be there,” She said as she walked past him and to her room.
She instantly started to dig through her closet for something to wear before quickly putting it on and fixing her makeup and leaving the apartment. It always felt nice to throw the suit aside and be a normal-ish person for the rest of the day. She liked helping people but sometimes she wished that she could just quit and be a normal person, you know?
She walked down the street as people walked around her. It was almost nine pm but there were still a lot of people. People getting ready to go clubbing or get some drinks at a bar, Jimmy at the hot dog stand, college kids going to a party, or sometimes you just couldn’t tell.
